“Food is excellent. Had the chicken and corn soup, shrimp, and sweet and spicy wings. All were very tasty. Portion on the shrimp was small and on the wings was big. Service was very attentive and had some nice local beers on tap. Ambiance is great for the area. My only knock is it needs a more extensive menu - only true protein entree was a steak. They need a chicken or fish also.“

The staff and customers are so friendly and offer great tips on local events and things to do in the area. Bring a dollar bill with you to write a note on it and have it hung from the ceiling to mark you visited this iconic spot! “Best French Fries anywhere. Yes, I know this is not a "Master Chef' level of scrutiny, but it's what I care about. I judge a place by its french fries - if you can't get that simple item right, you're not even trying. Yes I've had other food there (kielbasa special for one), and yes it was good, but I still go by the fries. If I see Gordon Ramsey there, I'll buy him a risotto Alsatienne.... until then: french fries.“
“Finally !! stopped after going by many times & sure glad we did. Deserves more then 5 stars !Waitress was friendly & attentive. We started with cocktails & French onion soup - rich broth, not to salty.I had Seafood Stuffed Portobello - stuffing was so tasty ( not the usual seafood stuffing , chef was creative with this one)served with 4 nice size jumbo shrimp, which came with rice pilaf with a hint of lemon .Sauce was delicious. My husband had Pub Battered Fried Haddock crispy golden fried . He said fish tasted fresh & delicious. Both entrees came with bread basket & salad.Will we be returning … you bet we will. Next time we are in the Adirondacks !!!!Thank you for a wonderful dinner.“
“We had a fantastic dinner tonight at Basil and Wick's. Our server Emma was fantastic! Very enthusiastic and helpful with dinner, drink and dessert recommendations. My burger was more rare than medium rare, but that's better than overcooked. The naked brie was out of this world and so was the Huckleberry mule.“
