“Intrigued by the signs in the windows exclaiming the benefits of kava, my friend and I strolled into the wonderful world of this non alcoholic bar. Being virgins to this root, we asked for guidance on what to order. This kava is supposed to have the relaxing, mellowing effects of say, Marijuana or even alcohol, but without the detriments that come with those. The young lady suggested a cold kava drink in a coconut cold mug with a slice of pineapple. There's a single, double or triple. She said it's suggested to start high and get the product built up in your system, then go down to single whilst in maintenence mode. We went with the double. We watched her spoon a large spoonful of what looked like, as another patron said, dirty water into our coconut cups! And garnished this dirty water with a pineapple. Bon Appétit! Well I have to say upon the first sip, I was waiting to be repulsed, but it actually didn't have much of a taste. As I got closer to the bottom of the cup, however, I got more flavor.. it was definitely a muddy, earthy flavor. I loved it I have to say. My friend was not a fan. Ha! I guess it's an acquired taste. The atmosphere was very chill. Seems an eclectic crowd. Young, old, parents, singles, white and.. well (us two) black! It was a cool decor. They have board games you can play. Seems a great place to chill alone with a book or laptop. It was dog friendly as well. I think if i lived here, I'd probably be a regular very quickly. Kudos!“
“Scott and staff have catered 3 parties for me and I do frequent the restaurant. They are all wonderful and the food is by far the best in the area if not all of Long Island. If you are looking for creative, delicious food you are in for a treat!“
“As always this place is tops. Best cocktails and the food is always spot on. Best meal for lunch or dinner, flounder oreganata. Staff is always friendly and we love coming here again and again. We always meet the nicest people at the bar as well“
“A hidden gem in an unlikely spot. The atmosphere was relaxing and calming. Not what I was expecting to see from the outside but once you enter you're transported to a new world. The staff was very friendly and our waitress was so kind. She was attentive, kind, and made sure we were taken care of..... But the food......" amazing". Very flavorful and mouth watering. Meatballs were a hit and the desserts are a must at the end. The drinks were made perfectly. You will be spending a little more than usual but it is so worth it.“
“There are a lot of great things about this place. For starters, the owner, Jackie, usually welcomes you at the door. On quiet evenings, she'll even ask you where you'd like to sit. If you've been there a couple of times, she may even remember which wine you ordered last visit. You can casually sit at the bar or on the leather couches and graze on cheese or meat boards while sipping on one of the many wonderful wine options served here. Jackie travels aboard to define and complement the restaurant's vast collection. If you're having dinner, the burrata appetizer and the tuna dinner are both amazing. Tables are spaced for privacy and you are never rushed. A great local option!“
“Love this place. They have many different kinds of pastas and parmigiana styles. If you don’t want pasta, their skirt steak is amazing. Also have prefix meals during the week that offer great value with great food. Will be back again and again.“
“This was our 3rd visit and we are fans. It's always a crap-shoot if you'll have to wait for a table. The place is small. But once you're in, it's all good. Our waitress last night, Hannah, was very friendly and attentive. The potato pancake appetizer was really good. Deep fried, very creamy and tasty, and the apple butter tasted just like good apple sauce. We had a very non-German dinner of an eggplant pesto sandwich. It was kind of Germanified by calling it eggplant schnitzel, but it was really delicious. I felt like the mushrooms were the kicker - really put it over the top. I had the pils and my wife had the lager - both very good. The draft beers are always good there.“
“Today was my first time visiting Sonoma Grill, introduced by my friend David. Our service at the bar was exceptional by a wonderful young lady named Christina, making for a pleasant afternoon lunchin! The food was extremely good, having the steak marsala, and a portion big enough for a 2nd meal!Hats off to Sonoma GrillParking: All good!“
“Me and my husband went here for a date night first time ever being there we ordered the bbq shrimp and potato's au gratin for appetizers the shrimp cooked perfectly and the sauce tasted very flavorful and the potatoes were creamy and cheesy. We ordered the porterhouse for two and they cooked our steaks 2 different temperatures which we appreciated it so much. The steak was cooked perfectly very juicy we will definitely come back again the service was perfect too always asking we needed anything clearing the table for us after each course.“
“The food we got was delicious. My wife had the cauliflower crust flatbread, which was a little sweeter than she expected because of the jam on it, but still very good, and I had the fish and chips. The dunks were also very good and the ambiance was a lot of fun. We sat at the high tops in the bar which is more of the loud and a lot going on seeing...because it's a bar of course which is what we wanted that night, however there were much much quieter and low key tables in the back of the restaurant for the sit down eating experience. This one is now added to our regular list of places to go.“
