“Truly a very good experience with this place, of which I have been a customer for more than 10 years, very varied food, with very good service, very reasonable prices, and very well served and served as every Peruvian likes. I give it and love it. I will always give 5 Stars to this place especially for that grilled chicken that resembles and is so similar to the chicken that one can only find in some neighborhood or on one of the streets of Lima“

“I hated Lima beans, until I ate them at Contento. In fact, everything I ate there was perfection. My husband and I sat at the bar, which is exactly where I’d sit again. It’s cozy, comfortable and you can see some of the kitchen action as well as chat with fellow diners. The chef came out and helped us pick out a great bottle of wine. I use a wheelchair, which is what first attracted me to going to Contento. I appreciate feeling included. But I have recommended the place to friends and the next time I’m in New York I look forward to going back.“

“Te amo Mission Ceviche! My Boyfriend took me here for my birthday. The entire staff treated me like a King! The customer service at this restaurant is absolutely incredible! The food is a gastronomical fantasy. Incredible flavors, fresh ingredients, truly mouth-watering meals. My Boyfriend is from Peru and he says Mission Ceviche is like coming home for him. He is practically obsessed with the two ceviche dishes (Mixto y Classico). For me it is the short ribs. O-M-G I don’t think I have EVER had a meal so memorable and incredibly delicious. To be honest my words do not do the deliciousness of this meal justice. Simply put...it is oh so good. The short rib is cooked to perfection and is so tender you can eat it with a spoon. The accompanying sides are the perfect compliment. The sauce that’s used...I hope they bottle it because I would buy vats of it! The rice with choclo is sublime. The tres leches rich, creamy and absolutely decadent. The food is amazing. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous. The music is fiyah. The location is super convenient—a half a block to the subway and Crosstown bus. What really sets Mission Ceviche apart is the incredible Maitre’d Carlos. He treats all patrons the same...from babies in strollers to celebrities. He is so incredibly kind, humble, gracious, charming, intelligent, professional and inspiring. He is passionate and proud. It is awesome to see him keep the atmosphere ebullient and festive and the food flowing. He manages it all so effortlessly. I think it is because he honestly loves his chosen career and when you’re happy and you know it “work” is pure joy. That joy Carlos gives it to all of the Mission Ceviche patrons. This was not me and my Boyfriend’s first time dining at Mission Ceviche. We are now greeted by our first names when we arrive. Carlos is there and he has the biggest smile and we know that we are in great hands and know we will eat well. Every dining experience at Mission Ceviche is amazing! Go to this restaurant...make the reservation...you will not be disappointed...trust me! Bravo Carlos and the entire Mission Ceviche staff.“

“On a bustling Saturday evening, we did an 8PM walk-in at Jora, opting to wait thirty minutes for a table over immediate seating at the bar. We commenced with three dishes: the Grilled Octopus, placed atop a Yukon mille-feuille; the Jalea, a crispy assortment of fish, shrimp, and squid, paired with yucca and salsa criolla; and the Lomo Saltado, sirloin stir-fried with onions, tomatoes, and French fries. The addition of corn to two of the dishes provided a textural intrigue, with glutinous kernels complementing the octopus and semi-popped kernels the Jalea. The Lomo Saltado was just shy of too salty, prompting us to sip water liberally. Our meal concluded with the Passion Fruit Cheesecake, whose creamy tang atop a graham cracker crust helped balanced out the savory dishes. The service we received was cordial, the pricing of each dish was fair, and the appetizers and entree arrived in unison — ideal for larger dining groups. In summary, Jora offers an engaging dining experience with a palette-pleasing array of options, suitable for those who enjoy sharing a meal.“

“When I found out this family business is co-owned by a fellow Queens College Alum, I had to come!!! It's so inviting and the hostess (sister) was more than accommodating. We were seated quickly and we were able to see the menu both print and via QR Code. We (my husband and I) loved the drink we had as well as the Aji Galina and Arroz Chaufa con Pollo. Extra sauces and a small corn based appetizer was given right away as well. I also appreciated the clean bathroom, which has a urinal and normal toilet, also ADA/wheelchair friendly. The music was excellent too. The fact that this is also family friendly is the ultimate selling point. There's something on the menu for everyone. I will definitely come back with my in laws! “Tasty Peruvian food in the neighborhood! Everything was seasoned well and balanced by the mild sweetness of chiacha morada we had as well. Really enjoyed the pasta, it was creamy but not heavy. And always a fan of Peruvian style chicken. Portions were also generous. Loved trying the lucuma ice cream and picarones for the first time too, ended up eating them together and the fresh warm picarones paired well with the cold ice cream. Flavors were great. “Outstanding. This establishment is a perfect embodiment of a simple place that serves incredible food. Forget about the fancy chairs, seats and decor...none of that here (the wall tapestry is actually amazing...though)... It's food packed with intelligent flavor, genuine spirit and love. Nothing more, nothing less. I'd go here any day over the millions of 'fancy' restaurants that look great, but have absolutely no soul, are generously rude to customers and serve insipid food. “Never had Chinese Peruvian food before so was very intrigued. Came on a weekday night and was surprised that the store was packed. Was able to get seated quickly and they allowed us (2 people) to sit at a 4 person table which was very nice of them. - Complimentary Bread - I don't know what they put in this bread, but I was a huge fan. The bread was so soft and hot... and with the butter, it was just perfection. I also loved the crust as it was very flaky and crisp. I could just eat this as a whole meal and be happy. - Lomo Saltado (Beef) - I was not a big fan of the fried rice on the side but this was one of the best Lomo Saltado I've had in the city. The tomatoes and onions were cooked to perfection as they were very soft and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beef was also very tender but crispy at the same time. - Chinese Style Squid Fried Rice - Not a big fan. Feel like there was a strong oily after-taste like the fried rice in the Lomo Saltado. I did appreciate how many ingredients there were, but it didn't feel very appetizing. Overall, would just recommend the bread and the Lomo Saltado if you do come here. Also, I have to say that it's refreshing to watch all the servers play around, it made me very happy to know that they all are great friends with one another.“

“Came in around 7 on a Friday night. Found parking s few blocks away. I’m not naive. I know it’s Brooklyn but the walk from the car to the spot was sketchy. Some kids aimed a colorful nerf/ water gun at me. I didn’t like that. But once inside all the riffraff of the block is forgotten. The lightning, the murals, and the decor have a really nice vibe. They had some music playing and the ambiance was chill. There was one other table occupied at the time and the space was nice and open with a spot in the back for live music I’m assuming. The service was good. Our waitress was attentive and helped us with suggestions. She was able to accommodate our little side requests and chances to the menu.I order the fish tacos and the corn on the cob. I had the sangria/margarita drink which was super overpriced but good. The fish tacos were good not out of this world but a good size with a good amount of fish. I added some hot sauce and it hit the spot. The corn was flavorful and tasty. It was cut up into 3 pieces. My friend ordered the fried fish entree with a seafood crème sauce and substituted the rice for beans. Along with the montaditos (one beef, one chicken, and one veggie) and the passion fruit fizz for drinks. It was a good portion of food. She had lots to take home. It had oysters and crawfish. The sauce was delicious. The drink was strong and tasty. This spot was good. In the area, I’d def come back. There wasn’t a happy hour for Friday but other days sound good.“

“Delicious Peruvian Chinese fusion plus some typical Peruvian dishes. We stopped in on for lunch, and figured we'd try one of each. The fried wontons (wonton frito), were crispy and the spiced meat filling was unique and delicious, as was the sweet dipping sauce. The lomo saltado entree was luscious, tender beef, tomato and red onion flavored with cilantro (which I don't always love) in brown gravy over French fries and with white rice too. My husband soaked up every bit of leftover gravy with his rice. The owners are friendly, but speak mostly Spanish, so be prepared to point if you don't speak any. They were kind enough to gently correct my very rusty Espanol. The place is bright and clean, including the restroom. We'll be back.“

“Great service! We enjoyed our dinner. It was my first time having beef heart and it was quite delicious. The chicken -pollo a la brasa is always amazing and so well seasoned. The skirt steak was good but I felt the portion of the steak could've been a tad bigger. The taxi tacu rice was yummy! Overall it was a satisfying dinner. We had their ice cream and it was unique flavors...I would recommend that you try it.“

“I ate here for the first time yesterday(1.22. 2024) around 4 pm. The waitress was courteous and knowledgeable about Peruvian dishes. I had in mind to order tallarínes verdes however she let me know they had seco de carne ( which not too many Peruvian restaurants have). I decided to try it and I was delighted. The meat was soft and fresh. She also offered hot drinks and to my surprised she offered Emoliente which is also another drink I have not found in Queens and it was delicious!I have always said it , a good restaurant depends on good chefs, the treatment is essential but the cooking crucial. I am a big foodie and I am always trying to find yummy Peruvian spots. The place was cozy and thankfully not overcrowded. The tamal I ordered was also super homemade, made me feel as if I was in Lima.Hoping you guys soon make Aji de Gallina and Carapulcra !Excellent service and amazing food ??“
