“What a find! This is a classic Italian Deli right in the heart of Tuckahoe. I've been coming here about a year for their wedges and every time they've been great. The other day I went in at lunchtime and got a Chicken Parm wedge. It was so good I can still taste it. One or two days a week, they have their Vodka Chicken Parm which is unbelievable.“

1. Gave back 20 dollars when a kid had overpaid thinking he paid 40 instead of 60.
2. A mom came in and paid for her order because her son had come in earlier that morning and picked up food without any cash.
3. Told two long time customers no charge - the deli accidently made the sandwhiches on rolls instead of heros so no charge. He had to force them to leave without paying.

This was all within 10 minutes. Hope this place stays in business for the next 100 years. The food is great, and they should do an article on him and this place.“

Sounded like they had forgotten to check it, I imagine the apps get way more traffic. The pastrami sandwich was 4.5/5, a good amount of meat, nice crispy edges, but maybe a hair too salty on some bites. Paired it with some home made spicy mayo and it brought it to 5/5. Definitely getting this again.The Italian was solid and provided loads of meat. We enjoyed it but personally would have liked a tad more oil and vinegar. We gave this a 4/5.Both sandwiches are so packed that they can easily be split up into 2 pieces (maybe even 3 depending on who's eating it). They don’t offer seating inside the place, its ok the quality and flavor of the food really compensates.During summer or warm days they have some outside seating, perfect to slow down and just enjoy the little water fountain.It has customer parking and there is always street parking available.They only take cash but they do have a ATM machine.I usually get the three eggs, bacon and homemade potatoes. “This is a great place to eat. It was slow so I sat by the window hoping business would pick and it did. A middle-aged couple came in with a puzzled look on their face, as though they were desperate for something to do.
The menu is large and in charge but I judge each deli by one dish and one dish alone, the chicken parm wedge. Is the bread fresh, is the chicken crispy, is the sauce homemade etc.? Sometimes a spot is constrained by its ability to both deliver and keep the price down; Summer Street Deli somehow figured this out. I ordered a Pedro Special and a Chicken Parm Wedge and spent $25 with tip. Not bad. The chicken parm was crispy, the sauce was sweet and the motz was tangy. The chili was also delicious with a touch of spice but not to little which infuriates me. I like a hot chili. Like a diet Merrit Canteen chili flavor, very good though.

But over all I like this little spot with lots of dining space that is roomy but maintains a classic feel without all this pretentious so called atmosphere that doesn’t require it’s presence in a neighborhood spot such as this. Definitely worth a look but don’t take your date here unless your married, it’s not that kind of place bro ;).“

“I stopped by on a whim on my way back home. I walked in there were 3 guys working there. I hate to forget names but I remembered Chris. They screw is funny and made my first trip there a good one. The sandwich (eggplant wrap with mozzarella cheese, lettuce) was so good. Eggplant is especially hard to make it the way I like it. I will definitely come back. I loved the attitude everyone had.
