“My best friend lives in Queens so she and I come to the Onion Tree every other Friday night. I wish this place was closer to me. I live in Yonkers. The food is superb, seasoned extraordinarily. The chicken is fresh, soft and cut into small bites. I always order chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, or chicken tikka pizza. I have never had food that I enjoyed this much and I have tried all foods all over the world. I never get tired of this place. And the food is served quickly and piping hot. They’re opening a second place in Manhattan. We’re getting closer to Yonkers!! The drinks are awesome too. Barbra and Louis work behind the bar. They’re friendly and great bartenders.“

“We (party of 4) had an fabulous meal - I loved the salmon, my husband demolished his short rib pizza, and my brother and his wife raved about the chicken tikka masala - wonderful flavors and beautifully presented (Jay’s balls were scrumptious too). Our server suggested great wine pairings. Upscale quaint pub like setting - perfect restaurant in a perfect little town. We’ll definitely be back!“

“We stopped here randomly on our way back from the Hamptons to New Jersey and we had one of the best service experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. Our server was personally invested in making sure we had the best experience in any restaurant ever!

The menu is all Indian with lots of non-veg and vegetarian options. They offered to customize anything on the menu we wished for and made food without onion garlic for me. The food was very fresh and tasty. We ordered Alleppey fish curry and Palak Paneer with Kerala Poratta. Rice was complimentary.

When the staff learned that we were celebrating a birthday luncheon, they kindly paused the music during our cake cutting and even played the "Happy Birthday" song on the big screen. Such a thoughtful touch! The veg platter/thali was delicious, and I highly recommend trying the masala chai as it's a must! Overall, I give this place a well deserved 5 stars!“

“A very excellent experience. Had my B'day dinner here with friend and his son. Nothing could have been better, the owners and staff helped us order and our food was novel and superb, and they guided us to the right choices. Afghani Delight Chicken and Achari Chicken were both fantastic with the Naan and also with the rice (which he gave us an order for free when he thought it looked like we needed it.) “Whenever I had a craving for south indian food in long island, I used to frequent Taste of Chennai, i.e. until I discovered this place Village - The Soul of India. This is by far the best south indian restaurant in long island. Their pani puris are killer. The dosas, idlis chutneys and sambars reminded me of what I had tasted back in India. Everything tasted fresh too. The service was good and prompt. We were lucky to get in right before the dinner rush hour where we saw large groups having to wait for a table.

For those who are not familiar with south indian food: their menu is either completely vegetarian (as in this case) or largely vegetarian and 100's of options to choose from.

“The food is AMAZING and so is the customer service!!! I have been trying a bunch of spots in the area but this is by far the best. The samosas chat is so fresh and the chutneys are great. Pani puri is so flavorful too the perfect amount of tang and spice. Very affordable and a great variety of vegetarian options. Every-time I come in, they manage to put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. Can’t wait to come back again.“

“We are true Indian FOODIES!! Our whole family loves Indian food. We have tried every Indian restaurant from Long Island & parts of Florida! Kiran Palace is the Best!!!! I am so happy they have finally brought back their LUNCH BUFFET!!! They did it in such a way that no one else does, they have the buffet table set up & bring out tandoori chicken as well as other dishes FRESH to your table as much as you want so these dishes don’t become dried out or soggy!! ALSO, they change different dishes every day, so we usually go twice a week & it’s always fresh!!! The staff is super friendly & makes us always welcome! They even have their buffet on weekends! They are closed on Tuesday. In case I haven’t said enough, WE LOVE KIRAN PALACE!!!“

“This is definitely some of the best Indian Takeout in the area. There are tables but not the most inviting atmosphere to sit in. The food is and always has been the star here. We use Indian Express for catering as well and the portions and flavors are always on point.“

“Taste of Mumbai is unbelievably good. I've ordered takeout from them 1-2x per month for the last two years and I have NEVER had a meal that I would rate less than an A-. I'm just in awe of how good the food is every single time, and whenever I try something new on the menu I find something else that I love, to the point where now it takes me forever to decide what to order because there are so many amazing options! A few of my favorites are the Methi curry, Green Masala curry, Baigon Bhartha, and onion kulcha. “One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the area. Their food is incredible. Love their goa fish curry and goat karahi. Their naan is to die for. Buttery and delicious. Their lunch buffet is also worth trying. Somewhat limited selection, but good enough for me and plenty delicious. Parking is abundant. They also have a full bar. Take out service is also great, the food is always piping hot. Check it out and thank me later :)

“I recently stopped at Maya Grill for lunch for the first time, and I was incredibly impressed by the wonderful experience.

The decor was warm, inviting, and very clean, and the staff was friendly and polite. The authentic Indian music playing in the background completed the fabulous atmosphere.

For my meal, I ordered the Maya Dal Makhani with white basmati rice and naan bread, followed by the Pista Kulfi for dessert. The food arrived fresh and delicious, with filling portions and an exceptional level of flavor. The dessert was equally wonderful—creamy and perfectly prepared.

The staff truly enhanced the experience; it was clear that the gentleman I spoke with is deeply passionate about the food served at the restaurant.

I will highly recommend Maya Grill to anyone looking for fresh, high-quality Indian cuisine, a wonderful staff, and a great atmosphere.
