“Had been contemplating to check this restaurant since its inception almost a year ago. At long last, made reservation today at a whim, and couldn’t have been happier!

After I made the reservation, tidbits of chirps did start reaching me, about how expensive the place is and the portion sizes being smallish! One comment however was constant, the food is amazing…

I asked the HusbandMan if he would like me to cancel the reservation, but by then some of the items in the menu (he glanced through online) had him sold and off we went. And boy-oh-boy, my tastebuds had a ball!!!

It is not your run of the mill Desi food at all, it indeed is upscale and exceptional! Every item from the appetizer to the entrees held their uniqueness as we traveled to foodie heaven and back! We were way too full for dessert and sadly had to give it a skip! I am sure their desserts will be as delectable as the rest of the food! I did see them serve dessert in the most artsy way possible in a vase, like two single buds of roses! Well next time! 🤞🏼

The surprise was when the chef/owner Rohit came out to say hello to us! A bright young man from none other but my City of Joy!!!!

And no, this is NOT a paid collaboration or any such thing! The HusbandMan Krishna C. Mukherjee and I just happened to decide on this place and came back with a heartfelt experience! The ambience (even though the place is smallish), the service, the warmth and the food - ohhhh so amazing! A very sweet ending to an eventful Labor Day weekend. “My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at KAHANI! From the delicious food to the amazing drinks and exceptional service, everything was fantastic. My only wish is that the restaurant were a little bigger because it’s definitely a place I’d love to spend more time in!

We started with the seasoned, crispy roti-like chips, which were absolutely delicious! We also ordered the chili cheese naan and peshwari naan, both of which were incredible. For our main dishes, we enjoyed the lamb vindaloo, chili paneer, and chicken tikka. Everything was packed with flavor, and the drinks were just as impressive!

The service was quick, attentive, and perfectly timed. A special thank-you to our waitress, Tanveen, who was wonderful throughout our visit! She and the rest of the staff were extremely accommodating and made us feel so welcome.

“Very cute and colorful place with great food that will remind you of home! I randomly found the place hungry because I was craving some chole bhature and was not disappointed. Uncleji at the counter was also very sweet and offered us to taste some sweets at the counter before we sat down. Would definitely visit again!“

“We stopped here randomly on our way back from the Hamptons to New Jersey and we had one of the best service experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. Our server was personally invested in making sure we had the best experience in any restaurant ever!

The menu is all Indian with lots of non-veg and vegetarian options. They offered to customize anything on the menu we wished for and made food without onion garlic for me. The food was very fresh and tasty. We ordered Alleppey fish curry and Palak Paneer with Kerala Poratta. Rice was complimentary.

“Tried taste of Mumbai for the first time and we were not disappointed. Service was friendly and accommodating. Our food was ready in the promised time unlike some other Indian restaurants. The food was delicious. What I liked the most about the food was that it was not as oily as other Indian places.
The only complaint is that it is not a sit down restaurant. It is small and dark inside so I do not recommend bringing friends and parties to eat at the establishment which is a bummer but food wise it’s great!!!“

“Whenever I had a craving for south indian food in long island, I used to frequent Taste of Chennai, i.e. until I discovered this place Village - The Soul of India. This is by far the best south indian restaurant in long island. Their pani puris are killer. The dosas, idlis chutneys and sambars reminded me of what I had tasted back in India. Everything tasted fresh too. The service was good and prompt. We were lucky to get in right before the dinner rush hour where we saw large groups having to wait for a table.

For those who are not familiar with south indian food: their menu is either completely vegetarian (as in this case) or largely vegetarian and 100's of options to choose from.

I ordered the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan, and the sauce was extremely bitter. It wasn’t the medium spice level that I typically order and enjoy—it genuinely tasted bitter. The amount of chicken was also about half of what I normally receive, and unfortunately, the chicken itself was very tough.

“I was visiting a friend in Long Island and he suggested Currywala for Indian food. He said it was the best he's had recently.

I agree with his assessment. All the food really was very flavorful. It's like big city fine dining but inside a small local place. I appreciate that. My only suggestion for improvement on the food is that the lamb in the lamb vindaloo was a bit tough and should be more tender.

Great service and nice ambiance as long as your party size is less than 8 people.

One recommendation for the GM/owners: look into having your landlord install and offer electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at this center. This is helping restaurants with discoverability and increasing in-store sales as more people drive EVs and look for convenient places to charge.

Such a benefit to be able to charge while dining. A 45-60 minute stop to grab lunch/dinner is a great way to recover 20 miles. And soon you'll be able to build loyalty programs into the chargers.

You're already attracting people today who drive EVs (like me!).

I recommend reaching out to Pangea Charging for EV charging consultations and installations.

Keep it in mind with your landlord before you renew a lease or sign for a new lease when you expand locations!

Bring more traffic to Currywala while driving up revenue.“

“I love this place. Big and open inside, full bar, EXCELLENT FOOD, and incredible friendly service.

We moved to long island from queens and were nervous about our lack of ethnic food access. We tried Diwan when my son was 2 months old, he was in a bassinet in a stroller - the man inside moved tables inside so the baby was comfortable and out of the way! Above and beyond. I come back a few months later, now hes eating - again the staff is SO ACCOMMODATING, friendly and warm to the baby. If you have kids you know its not always relaxing to eat with them out - at this place it is!!

“We are true Indian FOODIES!! Our whole family loves Indian food. We have tried every Indian restaurant from Long Island & parts of Florida! Kiran Palace is the Best!!!! I am so happy they have finally brought back their LUNCH BUFFET!!! They did it in such a way that no one else does, they have the buffet table set up & bring out tandoori chicken as well as other dishes FRESH to your table as much as you want so these dishes don’t become dried out or soggy!! ALSO, they change different dishes every day, so we usually go twice a week & it’s always fresh!!! The staff is super friendly & makes us always welcome! They even have their buffet on weekends! They are closed on Tuesday. In case I haven’t said enough, WE LOVE KIRAN PALACE!!!“

“I recently stopped at Maya Grill for lunch for the first time, and I was incredibly impressed by the wonderful experience.

The decor was warm, inviting, and very clean, and the staff was friendly and polite. The authentic Indian music playing in the background completed the fabulous atmosphere.

For my meal, I ordered the Maya Dal Makhani with white basmati rice and naan bread, followed by the Pista Kulfi for dessert. The food arrived fresh and delicious, with filling portions and an exceptional level of flavor. The dessert was equally wonderful—creamy and perfectly prepared.

The staff truly enhanced the experience; it was clear that the gentleman I spoke with is deeply passionate about the food served at the restaurant.

I will highly recommend Maya Grill to anyone looking for fresh, high-quality Indian cuisine, a wonderful staff, and a great atmosphere.

“Hands down one of the best mutton biryanis I’ve tried in Dallas, I was offered it numerous times and declined having my inhibitions that they’re probably hyping up their biryani, I was so wrong!! I got the biryani today and it took me back, way back to the streets of Hyderabad, the biryani is absolutely amazing, the haleem is real good too, would recommend these too along with the double ka meetha if they have it, a must try!!

P.S. a good biryani should be packed with flavor, NOT SOME RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF SPICE TO JUST MAKE IT HOT!

My family and I have loved getting from this place for YEARS. It is small, but it is a hidden gem! The samosas, shaami kabab, zinger burger, chili chicken, and butter chicken are our favorites, they are SO delicious!! Like literally, we think you guys have the best samosas & shaami kababs out of anyone on Long Island we've tried. And oh my goodness I can't forget, the fries that comes with the burgers are actually really good too!
Also I'd say the prices are fair for this day and age.

Listen, sometimes I get a little creeped out by the space, but I think these people try their best. I definitely recommend this place :)
