“What a wonderful find! While visiting Rome for a sporting event, I had overheard someone mention the name of this restaurant. When I looked it up online and saw the menu offerings, we decided to give it a try. First, it is the most adorable place! A converted house on the edge of a residential neighborhood with a lovely ambiance inside. Front of the house is a well-stocked bar with high-top tables for those who like a bar eating atmosphere. The back is tables for two and four with real linens (rare these days), quaint table-top lighting (remember those nightclub table lights from the ‘50s and ‘60s?), and small vases with simple dried floral arraignments. The wine and liquor menu is extensive (we don’t drink, but I looked), and the food menu is small but varied, with something for everyone. Part of their menu changes monthly, part is static. We tried things from both.The static offering of Lobster Bisque with a small crab cake floating in the center was amazing! Light, creamy, and flavorful with plenty of lobster throughout. The crab cake was a delicious little addition. Their other regular offering we tried of Fried Calamari with marinara sauce was fairly standard, with nice rings that were not overcooked, as so many places do. We also ordered a monthly special appetizer of Fried Artichoke wrapped in Prosciutto on a bed of sautéed asparagus with a balsamic glaze. Quite tasty and beautifully presented. Our entree specials were Chicken Marsala, served over bucatini pasta (rather than the offered mashed potatoes), and a dish called Miss Jenny, which was the house’s take on Eggplant Parmigiana - panko breaded slices of fried eggplant layered with fresh sautéed spinach and mozzarella, served atop a bed of bucatini with marinara sauce. Both entrees were delicious!Our bill was probably higher than most because we were really hungry and wanted to try lots of dishes.The service was friendly and attentive, and we got to meet the owner as we left - so happy to tell him about our wonderful experience!If you’re passing through Rome, or if you’re local (lucky), visit this lovely restaurant! “The food was good once they actually put my order. I ordered online and when I went to go pick it up they said the order didn't go through, but they got it done quickly. The chips that came with my sandwich were really hard and cut my gums.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options which it awesome because it's hard to find food other than a salad for someone with celiacs.“

“We were here for a nearby college track meet so didn’t expect such a great meal in the middle of farm country. The Chicken Francaise was tender and savory with a perfect mixture of fresh veggies: brussel sprouts, zucchini, red onion, and root veggies. The service was fast even though the place was packed. We arrived early for our reservation and despite numerous open tables in the restaurant - they could only sit us at a bar table if we wanted to sit down early. We happened to have a perfect view of those tables from our bar table and they all remained empty the remainder of the evening. Waitress Sarah not very friendly - have been served by a red head Sarah who is much better. Drinks were fabulous“

“I enjoyed this restaurant with my family very much. We went for lunch and there was a great selection of lunch specials in addition to their regular menu. We did not wait more than two minutes for a table. Our waitress was friendly and checked up on our table frequently. As soon as we sat down our waitress asked us what would we like to drink and brought us some soft bread with this delicious butter garlic. Our drinks came out fast as well as our food. My sister had the Mac and Cheese. She said she especially liked theirs because it tasted sweet and not like other restaurants who sometimes use sharper cheeses in this dish. The fries must have been good because the little one ate all of them. The steak sandwich was nice. The bread was soft and the steak filling was a good portion. I would say maybe they could offer some kind of steak sauce on the side or add a vegetable side to this dish (thus why only 4 stars). Overall, this restaurant was great and my sister said she definitely wants to go back soon.“

“Creekside is a little gem of an inn. Fantastic rooms. Each individual. We had the honeymoon suite. Lots of room; fantastic decor. Great deep tub and shower room. Downstairs a simply awesome resteraunt with a range of great food. And the people. Just super friendly and helpful. Allowed us an early check in. Moved our table booking around to accommodate us when we changed our minds just super friendly and helpful. A really great experience and so different from the mass chains. If you are in the area please seek them out. More people need to know about the inn“

“My wife and I had moved to the area just under a year ago. We found the Pancake House. This place is absolutely fantastic! Food- awesome, environment-awesome, staff- awesome, just an awesome place. “I ordered boneless wings for pick up on wing night. I got there she gave me my order and I went home. When I got home, I discovered that the wings had bones in them. So I called and explained. She said to give some time and they'd whip up a new batch.Someone from Marble Hill then called back and reminded me to bring the 'wrong' wings back.I got there an hour after my first pick up and the bartender whisked away the 'wrong' wings and went into the back. She said my wings were 'almost done'.I waited at least 5 minutes before they brought out my wings, set them in front of me, and walked away.Not one apology for the wrong order.Not one apology for me having to come back twice.Not one offer of, I dunno, extra wings? A beer while I wait? A coupon? Nothing.They make a mistake, and it costs me money to rectify it (gas, time, etc.) and no one can even acknowledge my inconvenience?They could have at least let me keep the 'wrong' wings and then given me the right ones.I really like Marble Hill a lot, but this experience was lousy.“

“I miss the days of greasy spoons on weekends. This was a nice treat as I stopped by passing through town. The diner had a nice homey feel, and the food was good. I had a sausage, peppers, and onion omelet with Itlaian toast and coffee. Food was up in about 10 minutes. “I was in the area during lunch and searched for a place I haven't been on Maps. Saw this little place, and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! The ladies that were there were friendly and the service prompt. I ordered an Italian Sub. The bread was fantastic, and the ingredients fresh. They know how to build a sub, every ingredient was the right amount. I also tried their Mac salad and pasta salad. The Mac was just how my Grandma used to make and the Pasta salad was delicious. I'm glad I stopped!“

“I've been to this restaurant many times and my experience is always pleasant. I went to school with the owner's daughter and I worked at this restaurant during my high school years so I know what goes into almost every dish. The staff go beyond to offer customers the best food and service possible. My favorite dish is either the gyro or the broiled seafood platter. And the best appetizer is the battered cauliflower. Just go, you will love it.“

“Extremely good "drive in" summer food! The burgers were all juicy and cooked to perfection. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with peppers, onions, and cheese as well as their macaroni salad. Both items were excellent. The sandwich was so flavorful, packed with veggies, and the macaroni salad was one of the best l've had all summer. I also recommend getting their freshly brewed tea to drink because it's literally better than Dunkin's iced tea! A he have indoor seating with AC as well as outdoor seating under a large pavilion. I will definitely be coming back here again when I'm in the area!!“

“Upstate tavern is one of my favorite places to dine. The atmosphere is large and open. Very rustic industrial. The service and servers are always always ALWAYS fantastic. Consistently I can always take a friend there from out of town and know that we will have great service. The gluten free (YES, I will always hammer home the gluten free options here) lack something to be desired. That being said, they have a salmon on the gluten free option that is cooked to perfection and a sauce that its tastefully paired with.“

“We've ate here several times. Always great food, and great service. Tonight our waitress wasn't the friendliest/talkative. She only came over a few times, forgot a few things. But the food was amazing. When I made the reservation online I put in a note that it was a 30th birthday celebration. They didn't do anything! However they sang to another table! Soup showed up from a runner before we got our wine. Entrees were also brought by a runner. We finished eating and sat waiting for our server who seemed to have disappeared. She reappeared about 10 min later and brought the check, another delay in her taking the credit card and an even longer one to get it back. What would have been five stars overall is only four because, unfortunately, service is often like this at the Lake House.“
