“The food had so much flavor and variety. Hot bar and food made to order! Music and atmosphere on point. We had empanadas (green sauce is a MUST TRY) we also had Sancocho with white rice . Too many options. Most beautiful decolonized menu, space, and atmosphere. Art is mind blowing. Friendly staff !“
“As a Peruvian I have been to a fair share of Peruvian restaurants and also recently to Peru as well but I have to say this place takes the crown for best chicken. The food is incredible and you can tell that everything is made in house. I absolutely loved the food as well as the experience and would personally like to thank the owners for making my friend and I feel at home. I will definitely be coming back with my family. Thank you!!!!!!!“
“Richie’s was recommended to me by a friend, as I am always looking for good Dominican food in Westchester. The food and services were amazing, I tried the skirt mofongo, which was so delicious! My family and I will definitely be coming back.“
“So glad we tried this hidden gem for the first time. The host couldn't have been friendlier and the ambience is relaxed, homey and adorable. Homemade guac, salsa and chips were delish and we went with his dinner recommendations which did not disappoint. The fact it's a BYOB is a bonus. We'll totally be back with a larger group.“
“One of my favorite places in NYC.Food, Service and Ambience are always amazing here.Live music from local artist Thursday to Sunday. The secret to the success of this establishment is the staff. They are hard working, attentive, and always make you feel welcomed, like family. Bartenders usually know what you are drinking when you come back the 3rd time and are always quick to serve, even when there is no space at the bar. In the kitchen is the matriarch, Mama Henry, the Owners mother. She makes every sauces, flan, beans, and many more items from scratch.Happy Hours are from open to 7:00PM on weekdays, their sangria, margaritas are strong and on point and come in many fresh fruit flavors. Some must haves on the tapas are the empanadas, mofonguitos, pulpo, tostones and chorizo, bacon wrapped dates, canastitas de bacalao, for mains the churrasco, paella and salmon are amazing.I used to bartend here for 6 years and I never once was tired of the food, this place is like family to me.Truly a neighborhood gem.“
“This place is AMAZING! It is unique and authentic - everything is fresh, and their quesadilla (made with corn / masa is very unique but incredible).Their salsas are perfect on everything they make and the tacos are some of the best I've had (chorizo is my favorite thus far but all have been good). Looking forward to going here and ordering from Uber eats again.“
“Really good food. You get buffet style and then you pay by the weight. But i get to pick from so many Ecuadorean dishes that like. I wish i had a place like this in NYC but definitely recommend for the good food and price. I paid $20 for plate, soup and soda. Too much food had to take it to go.“
“I arrived after a long time at this place and it really surprised me... Everything was very delicious... the grilled chicken was delicious... the ceviche was very fresh and delicious... the chaufa mixed rice was good... the chanfainita was good... the desserts were very rich and the service was excellent…thanks to Lesly who treated us very well…highly recommended“
“I dropped by this little gem after hearing about it and I’m so glad I did. I was able to get a half tray of chicharron de pollo for $65 and it was so delicious and they filled the tray to the brim. Perfect spot for Dominican take out or catering. Very easy to miss so drive slow, and they have parking!“
“Stopped by for Sunday Brunch and I was not disappointed. The food was so tasty and delicious. The portions are a nice size and Brunch doesn't break your budget. The restaurant has a new favorite customer.Kid-friendliness: Children were welcomed with families and thats always a plus.“
“My friends and I had a great dinner at Sazon y Pilon one Saturday night. I was so excited to try this place out. I ate SO much food and felt SO full afterwards so it was definitely a lovely experience. The restaurant is in a strip mall type area with plenty of parking. The restaurant has a very fun vibe to it, with a bar on the left when you first walk in. We were greeted and taken to a four top table. It's a bit smallish on the inside. We started with drinks. I ordered a coconut mojito and it was so delicious! I highly recommend that drink. It was creamy and minty and perfect! We ordered some empanadas for an appetizer and I wanted to try the black bean soup as well. The black bean soup was SO good. It came with sausage and sour cream. I had a shrimp empanada that was just ok, and my friends said the chicken empanadas were just ok as well. For dinner I ordered the Bistec Encebollado and my friends ordered different kinds of Mofungo. The Bistec Encebollado was awesome! The steak was cooked perfectly and the onions were delicious. It was a good sized portion, so I took half of it home. My friend shared some of her Mofungo with me and I didn't really like it. It tasted a bit too salty? I'm glad I went with the Bistec entree! For dessert you know I have to order the tres leches cake. When it first came out I thought it looked a little dry and was feeling like it may not stack up but boy was I wrong! It was definitely airy and moist. I loved the added cinnamon on the top. It was great! I also want to give a shout out to our waitress, Marissa, I believe her name is. She was so patient with us and our questions and she made great recommendations for us. Thank you Sazon y Pilon for a lovely girls night out!“
“I'd forgotten how much I loved the old Corona lunch turned Ambar Restaurant and recently rediscovered it while in the area craving Dominican food. Great new location with parking and tables instead of the old counter service. I was informed they only serve Sancocho on Monday and Wed. So we had the seafood soup and Oxtail stew instead. The seafood soup came with big pieces of lobster in the shell and was served with a lobster cracker. There was tons of shellfish and seafood as well in a rich delicous soup. The oxtail was divine. We came back two days later just for the Sancocho. Service was great. I highly recommend!“
“Delicious Latin dishes and good atmosphere. There's a nice bar here but the real winner are the appetizers. It's basically tapas which I'm not a fan of but they are good portions. My wife ordered the fish croquettes, empanadas, and chorizo and I'm shrimp (in red sauce). I got the baked chicken and .ash potatoes with a side of plantains. I was so full. Will def be going back for another date night.“
“I didn't even know this place existed until a friend suggesting going here for dinner and I'm so glad. This place is a hidden gem.***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** When we arrived, they were getting ready for a private event later that evening, but they still let us stay and eat. The owner patiently waited (and had to come back several times) because it took us a bit of time to make up our mind. Everything sounded so good, so it was hard to choose just a few dishes. We were very happy with our choices. Everything was delicious!- Shrimp burger - I already knew that the texture would be like a patty consistency of minced shrimp, but my friends were surprised because they were expecting whole shrimp pieces in the burger. I was a fan of the dill sauce on it, but if you don't like dill, maybe ask for it on the side? The dill taste and smell is strong, which goes perfectly with the shrimp burger.- Empanada Sampler - I wish I remembered what flavors were included in this, but everything was super good.- Mofongo Supreme - The mofongo was delicious and it came with pieces of cheese, shrimp, and steak. Definitely need to go back to try the lobster mac and cheese that everyone seems to be raving about and try their other dishes, as well, which all sound delicious.Tips: - There is plenty of street parking nearby and even a municipal parking lot to the left of the restaurant (if you are facing the restaurant).- It seems like a lot of people do take-out so that is an option, too.- We went on a Saturday night and left around 8:30 and they were supposed to be opened until 11:00, but they closed early for a private event, so maybe you should call ahead to make sure that they are open for guests or pick-up. Someone stopped by and was disappointed that they were closed early.“
“Delicious CAMPERO CHICKEN ? the best place I've ever eaten it, everything was very delicious, the visit was super, I can't wait to return..The perfect service, kindness and humility of the staff, pleasant and clean environment, congratulations on the good and rich workParking: comfortable enoughKid-friendliness: It's perfect for them“
“If there were more stars I would add them. This place still has what so many now lack. Care for their customers. Just celebrated my birthday here and to say they went the extra mile is an understatement. They decorated the food DELICIOUS and served quickly. The owner checked on us personally. This place is AMAZING. THANK YOU for making my birthday brunch go so smoothly.“
“I have been their customer since the beginning and I am very happy to see their growth and it is well deserved, their food is delicious and the service is excellent. We always enjoy its delicious seasoning, it is definitely my favorite Ecuadorian food restaurant ❤️May they continue to grow ?many successes“
“The food here is GREAT. And inexpensive. Very tasty, fresh, loved it. The ambience is not forst date material. This is working class, beer kinda place. Dove bar for Spanish people. $5 for beers. Did I say the food was great!!!!????And cheap. Will be back.“
“I ordered a delicious beef soup and that soup was spectacular. They say they always keep fresh soup because some other places they have to unfreeze the soup and vegetables are not good that way. I highly recommend this place. Excellent food and very friendly stuff!“
