“STOP! READ THIS!
If you’re looking for the best Sushi in the area, and you’re not sure where to go.. go to EPOCH! I tried their food a couple years ago and it was amazing! Recently, they changed up most of their menu… and finding this out I was skeptical. But let me tell you, the sushi was the best I’ve ever had from any Sushi place in like an hour radius.
The environment inside this place is very warm, and relaxing. Good music was playing. Staff were so friendly. My 3 friends I brought with me, also said it was by far the best sushi they’ve ever had yet.
I and my friend will be back for sure!
This place deserve success. Go try it.“

“Service is a little slow bc it is a family own place but totally worth the wait. The Ramen was fantastic and so was the sushi. Wish I had taken pictures but I didn’t think it would be this good.
A must stop in the area, we just happened to be driving by after work“

“I have been ordering from here since I moved to Hawthorne 2 years ago and food was delicious. However, tonight I had to throw my egg foo yung dinner out as it was loaded with sodium. I called and was told I need to tell them next time to put sauce on side. I hope that my next order will be on the house and taste delicioius.😗“

“If you are looking for a fancy dining experience, this is not the place, but if you want exceptional Chinese food, you've hit the jackpot. Think of Chinatown, not Ridgewood. Prepared from scratch, not quick, but with a touch of love. This tiny establishment has the standard fare and some twists on the originals that will make your taste buds dance. Pork dumplings become Mom's Dumplings with the insertion of a giant shrimp and an amazing homemade dipping sauce. Mangos are often added to many dishes for a change of flavor. Not spicy enough, ask Sherry to give it a boost, or the opposite, tamp it down a bit. Have you ever had lamb Chinese style? or one of many other specialties. The place has gotten a bad wrap from impatient patrons. Good food takes time to prepare, and fresh ingredients are not cheap. When we have company from out of the area, this is their requested restaurant. We have ordered food for one up to a catered meal for 100, always delish.“
“This place should have more stars than it does! We ALWAYS have a great experience at Ringwood Chinese, switched from Ho King in Pompton. Great prices, nice portions..food is not too greasy, and always a good delivery experience. 5 stars from someone who's picky about chinese food!“

“Kapao by Wok Tov is the kind of place you go when you’re in the mood for something a little more exciting than your regular rotation — and you want it fast before you start second-guessing your order.
First thing, the flavors come in strong. Not shy, not subtle — this is not a “maybe there’s seasoning” situation. You take a bite and right away it’s like, “Okay, we’re awake now.” The sauces actually taste like something, which already puts it ahead of half the places out there.
The menu has that classic “everything sounds good” problem. You stand there debating like it’s a real sugya — noodles, rice, beef, chicken — and by the time you decide, you’re already thinking about what you’re ordering next time.
Portions are solid too. You’re not leaving hungry unless you made some questionable life decisions before you got there. Most people end up with enough for round two later, whether they planned it or not.
Now, a small practical tip: just double-check your order before you leave. Not a whole crisis, just part of the hishtadlus — takes two seconds and saves you from giving a whole shiur in the car about why your lo mein turned into something else.
The vibe is more grab-and-go than sit-and-linger, but it works. Efficient, quick, and to the point — exactly what you want when you’re hungry and not looking to make a whole event out of dinner.
Bottom line:
Flavor-packed, satisfying, and a solid go-to when you need something different and filling. Come hungry, order wisely (or not), and don’t be surprised if you’re already planning your next visit halfway through the first bite.“

“Best Chinese food since moving from city“
“I didn’t want to leave this review prematurely, so I made sure to visit this place five times over the course of three months before writing it. I wanted to see if the quality stayed consistent and it absolutely did.
I’ve tried all the classics: here chicken broccoli, boneless ribs, fried chicken, sesame chicken, orange chicken, steak and peppers, white rice, pork fried rice, shrimp fried rice, and vegetable fried rice. Every single time, the food was hot, fresh, flavorful, and honestly nostalgic in the best way possible. It reminds me of how great some of the classic Chinese takeout spots used to be years ago.
The prices are incredible for the quality and portions you get, and the staff always greet you with a smile when placing your order. That kind of consistency and customer service is hard to find nowadays.
Five stars. Highly recommend. I genuinely hope they never change.“

“Happened to be in the area and was craving some classic Chinese takeout. I usually frequent other purely vegetarian Chinese restaurants, but saw that Spring Restaurant had a vegetarian menu with mock meat options, so I had to come and check it out. I arrived and parking was extremely convenient, went in, and it was just a nice cozy vibe in there. Family owned restaurant, extremely lively daughter working the counter, with an equally kind and wonderful father cooking the most delicious vegetarian general tso's chicken that i've ever had. I asked just for a simple cut of hot chili oil, and was given what is apparently a homemade fermented chili oil, which was unlike any chili oil I'd eaten before. The mock meat noodles were also delicious, would highly recommend both dishes! I'm sure the regular meat would be great too as the sauce was the star of the show! The customer service was impeccable, the family was welcoming and kind, and most importantly, the food was to die for! Highly recommend for anyone in the area, you won't regret it!“

“The food we just had from this restaurant was so good I felt moved to leave a review. The flavors were bold. Every dish had its own special spices. Singapore noodles, orange chicken that packed a punch, beef with broccoli where you can taste the ginger. Highly recommend.“

“The food here is so delicious and fresh! I love it! I always get hunan beef, mei fun house special noodles, house special fried rice and chicken wings… sooo good. When you get in your car, open the chicken wing bag just a little and I promise they will stay crispy! My daughter and mom can’t get enough of this place. It’s our weekly date night (at home). “Upon entering Hunan New Jade Chinese Restaurant, one feels not merely welcomed but gathered in, as though the walls themselves have borne witness to years of shared meals and quiet devotion to the craft of feeding others well. The air carries the perfume of simmering broths and rising steam, rich with promise. This is no hurried hall of convenience, but a place where time slows, where the clatter of plates sounds almost ceremonial, and where hunger is met not with haste but with care.
First came the house special fried rice, arriving like a golden harvest laid before us. Each grain stood proud and separate, yet bound in harmony with its fellows, glistening softly under the warmth of the wok. Shrimp, plump and tender, nestled among morsels of chicken and pork, each cut precise, each bite full of honest savor. Vegetables lent both color and crispness, like jewels scattered through the dish. The seasoning spoke in measured tones, not shouting but persuading, coaxing the palate into lingering appreciation. It was a dish of balance and abundance, one that asked not to be rushed, but honored.
The egg drop soup followed as a gentler verse, a quiet soliloquy of comfort. Pale ribbons of egg drifted through the broth like silk in warm water, delicate yet purposeful. The liquid itself was clear and golden, its flavor subtle but deeply reassuring, as though it knew precisely what it was meant to be. Each spoonful settled the spirit as much as the appetite, a reminder that simplicity, when handled with skill, can be a form of grace.
Then entered the hot and sour soup, bold as a trumpet call and twice as stirring. Steam rose with intent, carrying notes of vinegar sharp enough to awaken the senses and spice that warmed rather than wounded. Tofu, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots formed a chorus of textures, each playing its part. The heat did not overwhelm, nor did the sour dominate, but together they danced, step for step, leaving the tongue alert and eager for what might come next. It was a soup with character, confident and unafraid to be remembered.
The sweet and sour chicken arrived clad in a glossy crimson sheen, a dish as pleasing to the eye as it was to the appetite. Each piece of chicken bore a crisp exterior that yielded with a gentle crackle, revealing meat within that was tender and true. The sauce embraced rather than smothered, its sweetness brightened by tang, its richness lifted by pineapple and vegetables that still held their snap. This was comfort rendered theatrical, familiar yet executed with such care that it felt newly discovered.
Last, and lingering long in memory, was the pineapple fried rice, a dish that carried both warmth and light. The rice, fragrant and well seasoned, played host to bursts of pineapple whose sweetness arrived like sunlight through an open window. Each bite held contrast, savory meeting sweet, softness met by gentle firmness, the whole bound together in a way that felt joyful rather than indulgent. It refreshed even as it satisfied, a rare and welcome feat.
In sum, Hunan New Jade Chinese Restaurant is a place where food is treated not as mere sustenance, but as an offering. Each dish bears the mark of hands that know their work and hearts that respect the table they serve. One does not simply eat here. One partakes, one remembers, and one departs already longing for the hour of return.“

“Been getting food from here for so many years and it is always good and consistent. Is it top quality fine dining...no, but its good and anyone ordering should already know it's take-out. Recently moved to another area of Bergen County and OMG there is some really bad Chinese food out there.“

“I was craving cold sesame noodles and looked for Chinese takeout place on my way home so I wouldn’t have to go out of my way to my usual spot. Sadly the noodles were over cooked and barely cold and the sauce was runny with little flavor. I couldn’t eat it. However, the broccoli and garlic sauce was delicious and the woman who took my order was friendly and professional. The food was nicely packed and she asked me whether I wanted sauce. I appreciated that because i always forget to say no sauce and I never use the sauce I get. Still craving cold sesame noodles.“

“This food is the closest to NY Chinese food Ive ever experienced since moving to NJ 18 yrs ago. no more asking for pork fried rice & receiving orange rice with nothing in it, fried wontons are fried, MSG. yum yum-everything Ive ordered is delicious. I have never had a bad experience with this restaurant?“
“Catered a large order on 8/22 for my BFF's family consisting of trays of Sesame Chicken & Chicken w/Broccoli, Spare Ribs, Fried Dumplings, Egg Rolls, etc.! Trays came with a half tray of Rice. The food and presentation were outstanding and were plentiful. I ordered for pickup and everything was correct and on time. If you need to feed a group of people or need individual dinners Wing Lee is an outstanding choice! I would recommend it to everyone looking for excellent Chinese food!“

“Happy to report we have finally found delicious Chinese food in the area! Portions were huge (and delicious). We tried the General Tso's, the orange chicken, chicken & broccoli and veggie lo mein! Everything was so good, my picky kids even asked for seconds. They also gave us a free 2Lt soda (though we're not soda drinkers) which we haven't seen since moving here from NYC.“

“Absolutely amazing food! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot. The staff was so kind and welcoming. Definitely coming back!
Their General Tso’s chicken was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
The dumplings were perfectly steamed and so juicy, and the fried rice had amazing flavor without being greasy. You can tell everything is made fresh. 10/10!“

“5+ years ago my friend insisted on only getting chinese food only from here, so I agreed to please her. I was sold. Every dish was fresh and tasty. ( but I’m the type who tells them exactly what I want in the food. I love it a touch spicy with real garlic ( NO garlic oil) and they listens to my request ECAH TIME I order. The place itself is average size and clean. The staff are quiet and always courteous with my daughter and I. ?Ghengis Kahn is the only place I ordered from. My only two disappointments are 1) NO delivery 2) They DON”t except cards.??♀️??♀️ During quarantineI I tried the only place which was open n delivered ? I did NOT finished the food. Wasted my money. The one star review was for the wrong restorent . Elsapenafiel Andilema. ( they don’t sell PIZZA.)“

“I stopped in Ramsey Chinese Food for dinner which is in a strip mall near City Hall where I had to visit that night. We were having a cold front and I was really in the mood for some soup. I saw that they had Cantonese Wonton soups on the menu and I thought this would be great. So I ordered the House Special Cantonese Soup, which had a nice portion of Roast Pork, Shrimp and Chicken in it with Lo Mein noodles in a rich chicken broth. \n\nIt was not the richer chicken broth I was used to in these soups but the owner’s daughter explained to me that she was catering to the locals who like a clearer stock. It was still delicious. They put lots of meats and I had the opinion for vegetables which I declined. I really enjoyed it and it cleared me up and I felt better.\n\nI think the egg rolls were made in house and were perfectly fried and filled with chopped roast pork and cabbage. They were wonderful. I ate at the restaurant and they have a nice tv where I could watch the local news. It was a nice dinner and I liked their very friendly owners. \n\nYou will have a nice meal here.“

“I'm surprised that I haven't left a review. The first time I ordered my food there was a mixup and I found myself waiting for 40 minutes in person for chinese food. I was frustrated. But then I ate the food and it was worth the wait.
I have been searching far and wide (in Rockland) for a place that could fry tofu in the correct way and has a sauce that is multi dimensional. I tried the same dish, general tsos tofu, at 10-12 other places in the area. Golden Dragon is the best.
If you have a sauce that adds flavor into something tasteless like tofu your sauce probably works wonders for meat/chicken dishes.
I have caught a bit of the behind the counter family drama a couple of times but the mother can make a great dish. I love her. I don't mind any of the drama. I just get my food, leave and return the next time.“

“The Best Chinese food in North Jersey! Freshest vegetables and lean meats without too much sauce. Nothing hidden here. This food is top quality! We are glad they re-opened and the new location is very nice. Eat in or take out, either way you can’t go wrong. Attention to detail on orders and super friendly staff takes it to the next level. Glad you are back open!“
“All the people, with their negative reviews maybe they don’t have the right place. I’ve been eating here for the last decade and honestly their food has always been delicious. I’ve always compared their Chinese food to other places and other places have always disappointed for the most part besides another place locally as well! Especially when you live out of state, you realize how good our NJ food is!! Can you also believe they’re one of the few that offer the ginger sauce ?! When I lived out of state I would ask other Chinese restaurants for ginger sauce and they didn’t even know what I meant ! Chens is the best and quick service !“
