It actually reminded me of Krisch's in Massapequa, where I grew up. I was immediately handed a menu and quickly made the decision to have a burger & fries. It was ready in very good time. The fries were actually chips. It had been a long time since I had fries served that way. It was a large order too, hot and delicious. The burger was terrific too. It actually had a very similar taste to the Krisch's burgers I had so many times as a child. Everything was fine here. The food, service and ambiance were all top notch. “Ordered takeout for a Thursday night dinner for my family and everyone was very happy. I had the steak dinner which was phenomenal. I also took a small taste of the cod and salmon. FRESH and DELISH. We have been here several times for brunch and a couple of times for dinner. Delicious salad with greens, grape tomatoes and fresh red onions cut over a chicken milanese. Companions enjoyed their choices of crab cake benedict and a large cubano sandwich served with homemade shoestring fries. I took the advice of comments on their Instagram page and their recommendations and ordered the risotto balls, clams, tuna tartar and beef dumplings for appetizers. Entrées were the strip steak, ahi tuna and short ribs. I have to tell you, their food is really, really good! My son got their tartufo for dessert and I had the tres leche. Hubby had a cappuccino. All good feedback. Prices are fair. The entrees are on the higher end but do-able. I hear they serve brunch. I'd like to come back and try. There are many other dishes I'd like to taste as well. My husband and I started with two signature drinks...coconut Margarita and French martini. One better than the other. We shared a wedge salad which was split in the kitchen and chopped. Delicious! Everyone was warm, not snobby, and went above and beyond to make my sister's birthday brunch enjoyable for my family. The food focuses on spotlighting the local ingredients and isn't overly fancy. My favorites were the hot fried chicken sandwich, the deconstructed eggplant parm appetizer, and the spaghetti with tomato sauce off of the kids menu (could have used a touch of salt but I think they underseasoned on purpose because it's for kids). The only dish that was pretty underwhelming was the shrimp and grits, which was kind of bland. The decor is also so tasteful and I felt transported to a fancy farmhouse somewhere on the coast of Rhode Island or something. I'll definitely be back!“

They are fried to perfection and very clean oil which makes the food very good because the oil is always clean that they cook in. The people that work at Bigelow’s are great.
