I’ve been a loyal patron of this little gem in Avon for nearly a decade, and every single visit has left me with a full stomach and a happy heart. For years, George and Elizabeth worked their magic behind the counter, crafting pizzas that transported you straight to Naples. This summer, they passed their beloved oven — and their legacy — to Chris and Nicki, the new owners, as they embarked on new culinary adventures. When I dined there this week for the first time under the new ownership, I’ll admit, I was curious (and a bit nervous) to see if anything had changed. I’m thrilled to report that Chris and Nicki have beautifully carried the torch forward. The menu and recipes remain intact, and the pies are every bit as divine as ever. My go-tos are the Celeste, Burrata, and Picante Quattro Formaggi — each a masterpiece in its own right. But here’s a secret: the best pizza isn’t even on the menu. Do yourself a favor — grab a seat by the chef's table, order a drink, and ask him to surprise you with something special. Watching that wood-fired oven at work while your pizza takes shape is pure culinary theatre. I often joke that if I had to choose my last meal on earth, it would be at In Forno. Judging by the smiles and overheard conversations from other diners, I’m not the only one who feels that way. “The staff is so nice and the food is SO GOOD! You get a big portion if you get a bowl so you definitely get your monies worth! Everyone I’ve been in there the food is fresh, atmosphere is nice and very clean. I go there almost once a week or more honestly 😅😂“

“We came here yesterday for the first time and it was by far the best chicken and mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had! We also tried the sweet potato and they gave me a sample of the chili which were both very good. I’m super excited to try the other sides in the future. “New Favorite Italian Spot! We came here for my brother’s rehearsal dinner, and wow—Matteo’s absolutely blew us away! My husband and I loved everything we had: the lemon chicken was tender and flavorful, the Alfredo cavatelli was creamy perfection, and the sausage and meatballs were just incredible. Honestly, I can’t even pick a favorite—they were all that good. The bread and butter? Probably the best we’ve ever had. “Whenever I make my way to the West side around noon, I end up at Bohdi Express for lunch. I don't go there because I'm Vegan (I'm not). I don't go there because I'm vegetarian (I'm not). I go there because the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The "Beef" and Broccoli tastes just like beef and broccoli. The staff there are very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. I look forward to my next visit.“

“I biked 20 miles here and it was well worth it! The line was long but went quickly. The employee I interacted with was super friendly and gave me great suggestions. I ended up getting a trio “sampler” of chocolate fudge brownie, chocolate peanut butter cup and pralines & cream. All three were phenomenal and super high quality ice cream. There is plenty of seating inside and outside as well as bike racks. The building has tons of natural light and clean bathrooms. I will return!“

What's nice is that you can customize your bowl between different meats, veggies, sauces both warm and cold. Update: a bit disappointed with our last order because no one asked if we wanted the lunch or dinner portion, so we brought the food home and when we opened it later for dinner, there was hardly any food because they gave us the lunch portions by default. I called and she said we need to ask for dinner portions if we call earlier in the day, but in my opinion they should ask the customer if they want lunch or dinner portions since both are available. I didn't even know they had lunch portions. Regardless, my original review stands. They're great, I just think they need to ask that since customers don't necessarily know that that's what they're ordering.“
