“Took a chance on this place because I was craving lo mein and it’s close to my apartment. The food is phenomenal and not super expensive. Their spring rolls are probably the best I’ve ever eaten! The shrimp in their shrimp lo mein is super flavorful, and the veggies are super crunchy. I can’t recommend Chuan Jiang Hao Zi enough!

“The chef, I think he is the owner said that Chow Fun is his best. I also recommend that menu if you want to try some non-Americanized Chinese food. There's some extra chilly oil on the shelves, put them in your plate and you might feel different. The picture I attached is Malatang.“

“My husband and I were in the area and had the good fortune to stumble in between lunch and dinner. We got steamed dumplings to share. He had dan dan noodles while I had soup called A Bite of China featuring lily, kelp buds, ground pork, and hand-pulled noodles. The portions were so big and filling, and the noodles had great mouth feel in each dish. We got some shrimp chips and gourmet tea (kumquat grapefruit green) for the evening - such a great pairing that I want to try more!

Vegetarian options: The servers are glad to tell you about the menu, and can take items out of dishes to make them vegetarian. The kitchen itself is not vegetarian, though.“

“I have been coming here over the years so today it was nice to bring my kids somewhere that I have been coming to, every so often, since I was in my teens. I have no complaints.
And actually, my son dropped some sesame chicken on himself and on the ground and the lady immediately came over and helped clean him up and his clothes. I was focused on cleaning the floor and table but she didn’t even notice those, only the mess on my son. She showed much compassion in this moment in my eyes.

“Hands down the best Chinese food in the Columbus area. You can order anything from here and you won’t be disappointed. My personal favorite is the spicy wings with green onions. I give them 4/5 stars. I would give 5, but they are a little stingy with sauces and when you ask for more they just give you one more and you don’t want to keep asking for more, so you leave with less sauce than you want lol. But overall, highly recommended.“

“Their food is delicious!!! There are so many vegetables in their food. It is much less oily than other places. Because I don't order ahead, I wait at a table. I watch people come, get their order, and go for the entire time I wait. My favorite is chicken with vegetables ordered a spicy. The veggies included broccoli, snowpeas,carrots, baby corn, bamboo shoots, and fresh mushrooms. The broccoli was very crunchy, not overcooked.

This time, the takeout was in a styrofoam container that leaked in the bag, causing precious sauce to be lost. Previous orders were served in plastic containers with tight lids that didn't leak. I'm hoping this was an anomaly, not the new normal.

“This is by far the best Chinese food I have ever had. I’ve lived in Columbus for 44 years and this is by far the best Chinese food around. I drive 30 minutes from Delaware just to eat this about once a month. We love the General Tsos. It’s so flavorful. The customer service is unlike any other restaurant around.“

“The staff is very friendly and very patient. This was helpful for the children that were ordering. They were able to accommodate seating changes as well. The food was all very good, especially the shrimp with lobster sauce.

Vegetarian options: When looking at the menu they had a good selection of vegetarian options that weren't just sides. Ma la string beans and broccoli with garlic sauce are really good if you like a bit of spice.

Parking: There's usually open spots right in front of the diner. If there's an event you might have to park further down, but it's a short walk.

Kid-friendliness: The menu is broken up by protein making it easy for kids to narrow down what they would like to eat. The staff is very patient and will explain clearly what is in the dish making it easy for selective eaters to find something.

Wheelchair accessibility: The door is standard size allowing for most chairs to fit through and there is only a slight bump for the sill. The tables are going to be slightly low for some people, but if you have a tray or have okay reach it shouldn't be a huge issue. All tables and chairs are moveable and staff are willing and able to provide assistance if needed. For the folks with service dogs who would like to sit further from the dining traffic there's a table space towards the front corner of the diner that offers more privacy. There's plenty of room for a medium to large size dog to sit and lay comfortably without being disturbed.“

Bourbon, tso, sesame, Rangoon, triple delight. All but an occasional fatty batch of boneless spare ribs. So stay away to keep my wait shorter. Unlike other buffets, Asian Star's food that's supposed to be crispy is actually crispy and not soggy breading floating in sauce. I've been coming here for 25 years or more. “Four of us went here for carryout as we needed the last minute meal. We all got different things and most of it was good. I got the wor su gai which was nothing like I've ever had anywhere. I order this dish a lot at various Chinese restaurants, but this one had like a breaded chicken and the sauce was not the yellow or brown gravy it tasted like a teriyaki sauce and it looked like teriyaki sauce. It was good but in no way tasted like wor su gai. I thought the egg rolls were good as well. The lady was very nice at the restaurant and thanked us numerous times for the business. And she threw in a egg drop soup and everybody's to go order and wrote free on the lid. I don't eat that soup. so it just want to waste on me, but it was very nice that she did that. I would maybe try it again, but get something different. They were a little slow, but not bad.“

This little hidden spot for most folks turned out to be some of the best Chinese food that I have eaten in my life and I have eaten Chinese food all over the world. The portions are huge, the price is good and the staff very friendly. I recommended anybody traveling through Columbus that might want some good Chinese food, to look this place up and go there and eat.“

“Just walking in and I knew it was gonna be good. They don't waste money on decor. The staff were friendly and the food seemed authentic. Definitely different than most American knock offs.

We got 3 dishes:

The stir fry ramen was good. Perfect lunch fair and great for little mouths.

The squid had great flavor and was pleasantly spicy.

The tofu was very spicy but was missing something. Not sure what but seemed lacking.

I appreciated my ice water but the husband got the walovi. It was pleasant and herbal.

All of these dishes are easily shareable so a great place for a lunch date.“

Pepper steak was very tasty rice was cooked perfect green peppers were cooked perfectly as were the onions and every part of the pepper steak was proportioned evenly, some places will throw an abnormal amount of onions in the mix to try and save a buck.
