“We love supporting our local businesses and love that nearly everything on the menu here is locally sourced. There are many positives for this restaurant, including warm & inviting service. The complimentary bubbly is also such a sweet touch! The ambience is unique and cozy so, overall, service is 10/10. I wish I felt differently about this next part, but I can’t say that the food is worth the price. It’s quite expensive for what it is. Nothing we received was bad by any means—it was good! But we had one entree (one of the cheaper options), two sides, two drinks, and spent nearly $200 after tip. In my opinion, charging $15 for a side of lightly seasoned roasted potatoes is too much, especially when the entrees easily run $60-80 by themselves. Plus, the average cocktail was $16. I would feel differently if everything tasted exquisite, but it all tasted good. Nothing particularly special, I hate to say. The spices in everything were conservative, and it seems that the majority of the flavor relies on the raw ingredients themselves. I applaud their choice of truly quality ingredients, but for the price we paid, I would expect a lot more flavor to be woven in via additional culinary choices.“

“Quite a fun and lovely evening. Wonderful atmosphere in vintage train cars from the 1940s and 50s. Railroad staff are in uniform and there is a great trio singing music from the time period. Service was friendly, efficient, and attended to our every need. The food was prepared on board the train and everything was very tasty! There is a full bar and several fun, themed cocktails. The route was great and offered some fantastic views. The conductor also provided some wonderful history along the route. I've been wanting to take the train for so many years, and I'm so glad I got the chance! Guests often dress in vintage clothing, so feel free to join in on the fun.“

Quinn was on top of everything and even though I just ordered a salad and fries, he treated me as if I had ordered the most expensive entree and bottle of wine. “Awesome first experience at North Star. Budda Bowl was the best “bowl” I ever had and the margarita pizza we shared was also hot, crispy, and delicious. Cocktails were good, and delivered fairly quickly. Received a free cookie for a birthday too, which also was warm and huge. The live jazz added to the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. 4 individual rest rooms in the back, along with a sink outside of them if you just need to wash your hands.

We recently placed a very large wings and tenders order for my mother-in-law’s birthday party, and the entire experience was absolutely top notch from start to finish! We called the order in a full week ahead of time, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating over the phone. They followed up to verify the order, and then went above and beyond by calling again as a major snowstorm approached just to make sure everything was still good to go. That level of care and communication truly stood out. My husband picked up the order this morning as they opened and everything was ready right on time, packaged perfectly, and included an abundance of sauces and everything we could possibly need. The wings were hot, crispy, and incredibly delicious, and the tenders were just as amazing. We received so many compliments at the party on how good the food was. The staff is truly top notch, and the food speaks for itself. We appreciate Berds so much and will absolutely continue to support and recommend them and use them for any large event! Also got to sample a new menu item - jerk pork burnt ends. Absolutely fantastic! The flavor of that jerk sauce will give you chills. Definitely coming back to try everything (yes, everything) else.
