The restaurant gives off a charming yet cozy feel, with moody dim lighting and a big crackling fireplace in the center of the dining room that makes you feel at home🤎 we also had the most incredible and accommodating server, shoutout to Jay who hand wrote his favorite Columbus foodie recommendations out for us since we’re new to the area!!! NOW ONTO DINNER: the iron skillet cheddar biscuits are an absolute must!! Served warm and brushed with salted better, they’re just delicious👌🏽followed by the grilled artichokes served with an excellent creamy remoulade!! We also ordered the Hollywood Salad and the Barbequte pork ribs- the meat was fall of the bone tender and the coleslaw + fries complemented the dish perfectly!! They vary the menu a lot I see with lots of fun offerings, but I think it would be nice to keep a couple more staple items on the menu. I would have really liked some sort of salad with my meal or maybe a French onion soup and they did not have any soups or salads. Espresso martinis were really great! I got a pasta dish. Loved all the components of it, but do feel the sauce felt unfinished. The sourdough toast app was great. My wife got the pork with collards and grits. Would have been great if the pork was cooked more. The grits and greens were great, but texture of the pork made us cringe. I know not fully cooked pork is more common these days, but typically we’re asked how we want it cooked and it was an after thought to mention we wanted it fully cooked. We now know for next time! Free dessert was provided for our anniversary and that was really nice!“

“We came here for my son's 40th birthday dinner. We had about 30 minutes waiting for our table but the manager apologized and complimented 3 appetizers for our table. The waiter Karl was absolutely exceptional and made our experience so nice. The food was delicious from the short ribs to the Salmon. The only negative thing I have to say is the noise level is quite high because it is a small dining area and with the kitchen staff and all of the patrons I could not hear my party of 7 talking at the table.“

“This was my third time at Agni and by far our favorite with the Midwest Nostalgia Menu. As always, the service is friendly, welcoming and incredibly attentive always refilling waters and replacing napkins when a guest uses the restroom. They are very accommodating of dietary restrictions and ensure they explain the meal with consideration to these. The vibe is casual while the food is next level fine dining, yet approachable for anyone. Each course truly got better and better, all the way up to dessert. We were absolutely BLOWN away with the level of creativity and interpretation of Midwest Nostalgia turned fine dining. My husband and I lived in NYC and for 8 years and were big foodies, and both said this was very possibly the best meal we’ve had in our lives. Go for yourselves and see what you think! “Northstar Cafe in Columbus was a great find. The cookie alone was worth the stop. Fresh, soft, and full of flavour. The sandwiches and shakes were just as impressive and everything tasted like it was made with real quality ingredients.

This is an order at the counter and serve yourself style cafe, so there is no table service, but the setup works well for the vibe of the place. The food comes out quickly, the space is clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

Overall, Northstar Cafe delivered a delicious and enjoyable experience. Great food, great desserts, and a casual style that makes it easy to sit back and enjoy your meal. Five stars.“

The funnel cake fries are the real surprise hit. Crispy, fluffy, perfectly dusted with sugar and dangerously easy to keep eating. I honestly came in for a drink and left thinking about those fries.

Huge shoutout to Salim behind the bar. Super friendly, attentive, and bringing just the right mix of smooth and playful energy that makes you feel welcome the moment you sit down. He made the whole experience better.

“I had the nicest dining experience this afternoon! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was warm and inviting after a 10 minute walk in the frigid air. My server, Casey, was exceptional. She was friendly, helpful, funny and heartwarming. I felt like she was a friend. She recommended a delicious drink, appetizer and pasta dish that were all beyond compare. She has great taste. I haven’t been to the J. Alexander’s in Worthington in a few years, and wow — they reminded me exactly why this place used to be one of my favorites.

The ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfect. The meatballs were packed with flavor. The mac & cheese was creamy, rich, and downright comforting. But the real surprise of the night?

Easily the best appetizer on the menu — flaky, crispy, flavorful, and flat-out addictive. One bite and I knew I’d been gone from this location way too long.

When we went, it was not super busy, but it did pick up quickly and get loud in the restaurant - though it is a sports bar, - it DOES carry restaurant quality, and I would most definitely recommend. The burgers are excellent as well, cooked just right and packed with flavor. And if you’re a brunch or cocktail fan, don’t skip their Bloody Mary; it’s easily one of the best around.
