New American Restaurants near Upper Arlington, OH

“This is one of my very favorite restaurants. Everything my husband and I ordered last night was absolutely delicious: salmon with couscous salad side, BBQ ribs with fries and slaw, an extra side of tomato/feta salad, and carrot cake for dessert. I never thought I could eat ribs without getting messy so it was a bonus to be able to eat them without ever picking them up! They were thick and saucy without being sloppy. The sauce (house made, I was told) was sticky and coated nicely and there was a lot of meat on each bone. They were so tender that I could simply run my fork over them to eat. The slaw was different than I've ever had - not sweet but a lot of flavor without being too savory. I never go to Hudson 29 without ordering the tomato/feta side - this time is was our appetizer. We've dined here numerous times and I've never received anything I didn't like. If you like french dip sandwiches, theirs is scrumptious. It was a difficult to order something new this trip but I'm so glad I did. I think I found my new favorite meal - the BBQ ribs. We were celebrating our anniversary and our carrot cake was served with a chocolate Happy Anniversary sign on top. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive as well. If I had any TINY wish, it would be that the restaurant wasn't quite so noisy. It can be difficult to have a conversation and hear over the noise. Eat at Hudson 29 - you won't regret it!“

“Imagine my surprise and delight when I looked for a restaurant, near my hotel in Columbus, Ohio this evening, and found SOW! SŌW Plated was founded by people who wanted to demonstrate that brain healthy and mood supportive food could also be delicious. We had a wonderful conversation with one of the owners who is interested in what I am doing with both the Academy for Addiction and Mental Health Nutrition and Eating Protein Saves Lives. “This was my first time going to Townhall. I’ve been wanting to go there for quite some time because I have a lot of food allergies it was beyond my expectations! “A hidden gem in Columbus for the more relaxed and refined folk looking to have a chill night out. The Denmark offers a great European atmosphere, located on the 2nd floor of a building just across from the convention center. The large windows, low lighting, and casual seating arrangements all set the mood for great conversation amongst peers and intellectual discussions about the various oddities of life.

There aren’t many food options but this place is great with its cocktails. I think there’s always something for everyone, their menu regularly rotates through new unique drinks but has a good repertoire of their classics; The Elderflower Paloma and Mango Daiquiri are particularly exquisite. To my knowledge it’s only run by three guys, which means service will be a little lacking at times, but they’re all great bartenders and have a sweet personality behind their gruff exteriors. They’re just a trio, cut them some slack.

Theres chess sets, self serve water and various card and board games you can pull out from their selections which is complemented by the modern decor to make this place a routine stop for me when I’m out and about downtown. The only negative thing I have to say is that this place is usually very sparse and not as full as I would like it to be, highly recommend more people check it out and make it a regular stop for their nights out as well.“

“I've been to this location to enjoy dinner on multiple occasions. 85% of the time, the entire experience is fantastic, but my most recent experience left me wanting. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues tied to getting our bill correct, and then, adding insult to injury, I ended up going home with a considerable stomachache. Fortunately, it didn't end up being any worse than that, but let's just say I had some concerns on that drive. 😬 but besides that, the food was very tasty, came out quickly, and I believe was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who comprised the party - being made up of eight people. That is another point: this location can accommodate larger groups as well as smaller groups. Also, I strongly recommend the chocolate chip cookie 🍪 , which I know couldn't have been the culprit of my stomachache, because I saved it to enjoy at a later time. In fact, the chocolate chip cookie is one of the primary reasons why I'm excited to go to Northstar whenever it comes up as a dining option! The homemade ginger ale and kombucha are favorites of mine, as well as the North Star Burger - and that is coming coming from somebody who is a meat-eater most of the time! Enjoy!“

“I am a frequent visitor to this location for Cap City fine diner. All the employees are wonderful and super friendly. The food always comes out perfectly and if there’s ever an issue, they take care of it immediately. This dining spot has such a great variety and I need to give a shout out to a particular server. “Overall, a very pleasant experience. Our sever was friendly and attentive. Nice vibe, relatively quiet even with large groups and children seated near. Food was all good. We had the June special drinks and dessert. I recommend both. We loved the tempura mushrooms and grilled peppers. The restaurant is pricey with relatively small portions, but the quality is there. I would definitely go again should I find myself back in the area.“

“First and foremost, I’d like to thank Simon the bartender for making my first time at The Pearl an experience. Words can’t describe how great of a host he was. Simon recommended nothin but best drinks and food. He didn’t miss. First was N’Awlins Oysters were phenomenal and the Hanger Steak was out of this world! The pearl is a classic vibe with an upbeat aesthetic. If you’re thinking about going here, don’t second-guess it just go!!

This is actually where he first asked me to be his girlfriend, and he later planned our post-proposal dinner here as well. NOW ONTO DINNER: the iron skillet cheddar biscuits are an absolute must!! “Bodega is one of those places that knows exactly what it is and leans into it. A low-key, no-frills neighborhood dive with just enough charm to make you want to hang out longer than you planned.

The funnel cake fries are the real surprise hit. Crispy, fluffy, perfectly dusted with sugar and dangerously easy to keep eating. I honestly came in for a drink and left thinking about those fries.

Huge shoutout to Salim behind the bar. Super friendly, attentive, and bringing just the right mix of smooth and playful energy that makes you feel welcome the moment you sit down. He made the whole experience better.

Bodega may not be trying to be fancy, and that’s part of its appeal. It’s a relaxed, easygoing spot with good vibes, great service, and snacks that punch way above their weight.

“Bowling here is fantastic. If the lanes are full, they'll give you a free card for the arcade while you wait.

That's not even counting the generosity they'll show if something goes wrong with your lane. Free food and a time extension.

I can't think of a better place to bowl.“
