New American Restaurants near Westerville, OH

“I was looking for a good place to try afternoon tea and stumbled upon this restaurant. Asterisk has a very nice ambiance, with a dark academia look using books as menus and different pattern tea ware. You do not need a reservation to come here because there is a large shared table in the middle, but it is recommended for a smaller private table. The seats at the large table are very close together and personally do not want to be bumping elbows while I eat. The afternoon tea service was a joy. You can pick as many teas as you like and choose from a variety of finger sandwiches. The service is very good and the servers will explain anything on their menu that you need. The dinner menu has very nice options, but I was not entirely impressed with the flavor. I mainly come here for the atmosphere, but the food isn't terrible, just not amazing. I still recommend this place for an intimate meal or a joyful tea time.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options.Parking: There are parking lots a couple blocks away or street parking if available.Kid-friendliness: It is more of an adult atmosphere.“

“Just had there Chicken Pesto Panini, it was really good. The servings are very generous and the waitress was very nice. I had not been in over 2 years, but prior had wished they allowed dogs in there outdoor area. Not sure if they allow it now, but would be nice. It's got wonderful atmosphere for what I think is a nice local place.“

“A hidden gem! As soon as you walk in the door, you are welcomed. The decor is so warm, cozy and inviting; a little taste of wine country. The wine and food is excellent. I've been here for happy hour/dinner and most recently lunch. The appetizers and meals have been consistently delicious. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on the wines and menu items. Excellent service and reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!“

“This was my 2nd time visit. Special occasion. 75th birthday. Called ahead to have a bottle of champagne chilling at the table upon our arrival and to please have a table in a corner for the five of us elderly hard hearing folks. The manager and staff were Great! My new favorite restaurant.“

“We went to eat at Twin Peaks for our son’s birthday ( he chose it). We walked into a friendly atmosphere, nice bar and huge tvs everywhere. We got tall green beers for st. Patties day. Their beer tastes the best. They are always super cold served frosty. They are cold even after the frost is gone. We got the Peaks sampler for appetizer. In my opinion , it’s not worth 17 bucks. The food was good, but just didn’t seem worth the price. The dinners weren’t too pricey and they were served quick and hot. Our waitress Emma was fantastic , always checking in on us and making sure we were good. She did a great job. To top it off she got her other coworkers come over and wish him a great day“

“Food is great service is great these people will treat you with respect and talk to you kindly I have seen situations where you had a customer being outrageous but management and the staff still treated the person as a human being where they didn't have to they could have kicked them out but they took care of him and treated him good after that the man apologize and I respect that because kindness will get kindness back so I have to say these people get these stars because they are great they are the goat keep on doing the good work I am also a Dasher who comes then pick up they are the greatest“

“Absolutely exquisite cuisine. Carefully prepared and intentional. The staff is consistently kind and attentive, and the management clearly cares about their customers.Their happy hour is extraordinarily affordable and a really obvious choice.“

“Impeccable service, intimate booths, well stocked bar, and approachable feel. Our waiter made me feel like we were old friends, he was accommodating and helpful with selections. They have a well stocked bar and I had an excellent manhattan and even a vesper. The wedge had some of the best blue cheese dressing I've ever had, and I've had my fair share of wedges. The burger was delicious and the sesame bun was perfect. It felt super cozy and inviting!“

“Went to Natalie's for the first time last night. I truly enjoyed it. Just a wonderful evening of jazz, people, drinks, food. I will definitely be returning again. The only thing charging $18 for three wings. That's a little pricey. Next time I'll just get the big pizza, but Natalie is definitely a hidden gem in Columbus. ??“

“The food was unique and deliciously memorable! The drinks and their menu were creative and whimsical. The service was absolutely fabulous. We very much appreciated the chance to taste different options before buying a bottle. We settled on the apple brandy but we will be back for the bottled in bond and chamomile gin! The decor was such a great blend of natural and industrial elements. It gave the feeling of a gourmet restaurant and a relaxed intimate gathering space all at once. The only thing I would have changed was the volume of the music. Everyone was shouting over the "background music" which made ordering and conversation in general somewhat difficult.Parking: A bit of a walk from the parking lot but worth it!“

“I recently dined at Surve for lunch and had a delightful experience. The small Caesar salad I started with was fresh and crisp, followed by a satisfying hamburger. Both dishes were tasty and served promptly. The restaurant itself was impeccably clean, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere.“

“Went in to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff who helped us knew it was her bday, it was mentioned 3-4 times which was cool! Happy hour before dinner was nice, drinks were very good. Bar staff was kind. Dinner service was great, food was delicious. Spent 2.5 hours there or so and enjoyed my evening with the wife!“

“Went here to eat brunch but they said they only do brunch on weekends. Service was good and I ordered tavern stack burger. It had tomato jam and it worked with other ingredients. We ordered corn bread for appetizer. It was really good too. Definitely will visit again to try brunch if i have chance.“

“Phenomenal food and drink, and great service. The server steered us in the right direction on cocktails which landed us on a classic old fashioned and the magic of the unicorn, both of which hit the spot. For food, we started with the tempura cauliflower which set the bar very, very high. Meaty and satisfying, with a delicious onion topping and delicate curry sauce. We went on to the grilled octopus, which was honestly some of the best I have had - tender as you can get. Finally, we shared the mushroom pasta with the added short rib. The split portion was more than enough to round out the meal for us. This dish was incredibly rich but it was topped off by a clever and bright salsa verde that brought it all into balance. As we finished up, the place started really filling up and I'm not surprised. We headed out after picking up a bottle of black walnut old fashioned mix to take home.“

“Dining at Alqueira was the experience that I’ve been searching for but not finding amongst the restaurants who seem to be trying too hard. The locally sourced and changing menu is prepared and presented in simple ways yet delivers deep and delicious flavors across all their dishes. We’ll be back the next time we visit Columbus.“

“An awesome pub! A lot of people were here for lunch and there were only two servers during lunch time, but they were efficient and friendly. The food was served fast and tasted juicy and fresh. They also had daily specials. I was here for the taco deal on Wednesday. The taco tasted fresh and juicy with amazing coney sauce.Vegetarian options: Salads“

“The food we did end up getting was great. Unfortunately, the restaurant was ‘out of bread' so we weren't able to order the French toast - disappointing since it was one of the few ‘sweet' options for brunch. The Pineapple cocktail was great. I enjoyed the short rib hash, although the portion size is a little small. The entire meal took a little longer than expected, namely because our waitress went MIA for 20 min after taking our drink orders. Overall, a good experience, but poor form to run out of bread 2.5 hours into Sunday brunch.“

“It's your typical industrial chic bar, with a decent selection of local drafts, and service that meets expectations.It's a short but noticable walk from the mall, especially in the rain. There are free parking garages all around.I didn't personally care for the draft choices, but it was perfect for my situation, which was to catch up with some friends after an all day event. The hidden gem of this place is their Ramen Spiced Mac n Cheese. It was so good and packed a little heat. I'm considering going back for that alone.Vegetarian options: While there aren't a ton of options, they are clearly marked on the menu and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my dish.Parking: There are free lots and garages all around this town center.Wheelchair accessibility: Typical wheelchair accessibility but parking is a little far.“

“The smash burger is like the prototypical good burger. Perfect crust. Perfect amount of cheese and pickles. Add some ketchup and it is magical. And for 9$ (6$ on Wednesday, 9$ with fries) it is a steal.The atomic fireballs are deliciously cheesy and complemented the food well.The drinks are also great too.10/10 Would come back next Wednesday.Parking: parking lot is tiny, you'll need to find street parking near the residential streets on the side.“

“It was a really nice place and our server was great! She was really friendly and attentive. It’s a little cramped inside, but I imagine during the spring/summer it is much better when the patio area is opened up. I got the wings, and they were pretty decent. My friend’s steak was excellent, but another friend’s pasta was just alright. So, can’t say it’s a top spot for me or anything, but good enough that I’d go back!“

“Me and my friend went here to catch up for drinks and dinner - Bodega is a great place for times like that. I've been coming to Bodega since college, I always enjoyed ambiance and service there which is always goooood. We ordered two appetizers to split - Brisket Queso & Crispy Chicken Wings (w/BBQ Sauce). Both were so good, the queso had brisket from their sister location at Bristol Republic, had great smoky flavor. The BBQ wings were really good, super solid! I would definitely return here whenever I get the chance. Their draft list is supreme, they have options for everyone! I've never had a bad experience here!“

“Wow what a fantastic little crab restaurant! Unassuming in it's strip mall location here and low key dining ambience but they definitely put all that effort back into their crab boil. Our food was out fast and amazingly delicious. We will definitely be eating here again.Side note, we got here a little earlier than the normal dinner rush time and thank goodness, by the time we were done it was packed.Side side note: Only two, unisex, single stall, bathrooms, I waited almost 10 minutes for one to free up, consider going before you go.“

“I love this place. The service and the food are wonderful. The atmosphere is a bit brighter than most pubs/ sport bars; I like that. Recently, I was there and a bit disappointed, only because they had a party in the back half that was entirely too loud. We, my table mates and I, could not hear each other talk, and hardly think. It was not a good a time. “My husband and I came here about a year ago for dinner when we were in the area. We sat out on the patio and it was a chillier night so we were wearing jackets. If I remember correctly, they did have heaters outside. I could not tell you what we ate, but I do remember that it was really good and that our waitress was attentive. We say all the time that we should go back so I may just plan that for us soon.Parking: I don’t remember seeing a parking lot, but we always just park on the street somewhere around the square since it’s free parking and we like to walk around the square after we have dinner.“

“So fresh, so healthy but you’re worth it! And they have luxurious ingredients like avocado and olives annd crunchy toppings and seasoned chicken. And I take half home and eat it the next day so I get two for the price of one. I’ve never had a bad salad there. And the flavored drinks and teas are amazing also! I would eat there every night if I could.“

“I recently ordered breakfast from Four Seasons Kitchen. I had the Sausage Egg & Cheese Burrito and home fries. The home fries were very good. The burrito was fine, but could have used more flavor. It was mostly egg and potato, with too little sausage to really be noticeable. I wish I had had some hot sauce with me to at least give it some kick. Still, I'd eat there again.“
