“First and foremost, I’d like to thank Simon the bartender for making my first time at The Pearl an experience. Words can’t describe how great of a host he was. Simon recommended nothin but best drinks and food. He didn’t miss. First was N’Awlins Oysters were phenomenal and the Hanger Steak was out of this world! “I've been to this location to enjoy dinner on multiple occasions. 85% of the time, the entire experience is fantastic, but my most recent experience left me wanting. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues tied to getting our bill correct, and then, adding insult to injury, I ended up going home with a considerable stomachache. Fortunately, it didn't end up being any worse than that, but let's just say I had some concerns on that drive. 😬 but besides that, the food was very tasty, came out quickly, and I believe was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who comprised the party - being made up of eight people. That is another point: this location can accommodate larger groups as well as smaller groups. Also, I strongly recommend the chocolate chip cookie 🍪 , which I know couldn't have been the culprit of my stomachache, because I saved it to enjoy at a later time. In fact, the chocolate chip cookie is one of the primary reasons why I'm excited to go to Northstar whenever it comes up as a dining option! The homemade ginger ale and kombucha are favorites of mine, as well as the North Star Burger - and that is coming coming from somebody who is a meat-eater most of the time! Enjoy!“

“A hidden gem in Columbus for the more relaxed and refined folk looking to have a chill night out. The Denmark offers a great European atmosphere, located on the 2nd floor of a building just across from the convention center. The large windows, low lighting, and casual seating arrangements all set the mood for great conversation amongst peers and intellectual discussions about the various oddities of life.

There aren’t many food options but this place is great with its cocktails. I think there’s always something for everyone, their menu regularly rotates through new unique drinks but has a good repertoire of their classics; The Elderflower Paloma and Mango Daiquiri are particularly exquisite. To my knowledge it’s only run by three guys, which means service will be a little lacking at times, but they’re all great bartenders and have a sweet personality behind their gruff exteriors. They’re just a trio, cut them some slack.

Theres chess sets, self serve water and various card and board games you can pull out from their selections which is complemented by the modern decor to make this place a routine stop for me when I’m out and about downtown. The only negative thing I have to say is that this place is usually very sparse and not as full as I would like it to be, highly recommend more people check it out and make it a regular stop for their nights out as well.“

The restaurant gives off a charming yet cozy feel, with moody dim lighting and a big crackling fireplace in the center of the dining room that makes you feel at home🤎 we also had the most incredible and accommodating server, shoutout to Jay who hand wrote his favorite Columbus foodie recommendations out for us since we’re new to the area!!! NOW ONTO DINNER: the iron skillet cheddar biscuits are an absolute must!! “Mom and I went for lunch yesterday and both ended up having breakfast! She got the buttermilk pancakes and I ordered the special pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon butter and tres leches drizzle. Mom loved hers and my was fabulous. I also had two links of sausage that were better than your usual mass made, which made me wonder if they get it directly from a butcher. The iced tea was also fresh and good.“

The funnel cake fries are the real surprise hit. Crispy, fluffy, perfectly dusted with sugar and dangerously easy to keep eating. I honestly came in for a drink and left thinking about those fries.

Huge shoutout to Salim behind the bar. Super friendly, attentive, and bringing just the right mix of smooth and playful energy that makes you feel welcome the moment you sit down. He made the whole experience better.

Bodega may not be trying to be fancy, and that’s part of its appeal. It’s a relaxed, easygoing spot with good vibes, great service, and snacks that punch way above their weight.

“This is one of my very favorite restaurants. Everything my husband and I ordered last night was absolutely delicious: salmon with couscous salad side, BBQ ribs with fries and slaw, an extra side of tomato/feta salad, and carrot cake for dessert. I never thought I could eat ribs without getting messy so it was a bonus to be able to eat them without ever picking them up! They were thick and saucy without being sloppy. The sauce (house made, I was told) was sticky and coated nicely and there was a lot of meat on each bone. They were so tender that I could simply run my fork over them to eat. The slaw was different than I've ever had - not sweet but a lot of flavor without being too savory. I never go to Hudson 29 without ordering the tomato/feta side - this time is was our appetizer. We've dined here numerous times and I've never received anything I didn't like. If you like french dip sandwiches, theirs is scrumptious. It was a difficult to order something new this trip but I'm so glad I did. I think I found my new favorite meal - the BBQ ribs. We were celebrating our anniversary and our carrot cake was served with a chocolate Happy Anniversary sign on top. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive as well. If I had any TINY wish, it would be that the restaurant wasn't quite so noisy. It can be difficult to have a conversation and hear over the noise. Eat at Hudson 29 - you won't regret it!“

“We were a party of 7. I booked online to make it easy and they could expect us. As expected when we arrived we were immediacy seated ( Saturday 4:30 reservation) Service was great. Food was great. We alerted server of a food allergy her and the rest of the kitchen team went out of their way to clean out the fryer and put in fresh oil so that my niece could have french fries. This was super thoughtful. When we went, it was not super busy, but it did pick up quickly and get loud in the restaurant - though it is a sports bar, - it DOES carry restaurant quality, and I would most definitely recommend. Our servers name was Aryanna- she was top notch!!!“

“I know Flipside in Hudson so we figured to we would see if this location was just as good. The staff was wonderful and the menu was just as good. These burgers are the best. So many beers available & we stayed too long trying many of them. Definitely worth checking out.“
