A neurologist friend took me here many years ago as a graduation celebration from nursing school. I’ve been coming back ever since, and I’ve never had a disappointment for a night or meal. “First time visiting this restaurant for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Megan, our waitress was absolutely wonderful with a smile and such great service and recommendations for things on the menu. My friend Stacey and I really enjoyed the entire experience. The food was very tasty and healthy portion of delicious fries with my Divine Smashburger . I will be talking about this place to others on the east side of Cleveland. Definitely worth the drive. Would love to get this restaurant in my publication, Shoreline Faith & Family which is family faith based to launch in the summer so that others can see what a great restaurant it is. “Szechwan Garden is truly one of Lakewood’s treasures. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and there’s a reason I keep coming back: the food is consistently wonderful, the Zen options are incredibly unique and delicious, and you can tell there is real love and care behind what comes out of this kitchen. When I recently thought they might be closing, I was genuinely heartbroken. There are plenty of places to get Chinese food, but Szechwan Garden is my place — the kind of restaurant you count on, crave, and would miss terribly if it were gone. So hearing that they’re staying open made me ridiculously happy! I’m incredibly grateful to this family — and especially to Dad, who has been at it for decades — for continuing to cook for all of us a little longer. Of course, everyone deserves to retire someday, and when that day comes, I’ll be happy for him. But I’m not living in the future. Right now, I’m just grateful that Szechwan Garden is still here, still cooking, and still making my belly very, very happy. Thank you for being such a special part of Lakewood. ❤️“
