“I went to Baraonas Bakery to purchase a cassata cake for my mom's bday. I loved how they have nice pastries to choose from and the cake I got was delicious. However the service was mediocre, I wasn't greeted when I came in, the staff was young but not friendly or professional. The customer service needs to greatly improve there.“

The only qualm I had was how the manager or owner responded to my mum requesting more milk in her cappuccino, as if we don’t have any knowledge in coffee. The foam was not foamy or thick with a ton of bubbles inside the foam. As if they didn’t tap it before pouring it in. He explained the drink to her and had a perplexed judgment look on his face. I almost wanted to intervene and ask if he wanted to try the drink himself. I don’t have an issue with people informing us how the drink is supposed to be made, but the assumption that the customer is not informed rather than, “hey maybe the barista had a faulty drink this one time” or adjusting to my mum’s preference, came off strange. The coffee was bitter, which is why she asked for more milk. I wish they had been kinder in responding to an older foreign lady or ask what was wrong while explaining their reasonings“

“We just had the best experience at Michael's Bakery. The cheese and apricot folded croissants were delicious, the adorable flower cupcake moist and beautifully decorated, and the bread loaf perfect with our lunch. We went for our son's birthday and the clerk was incredibly kind and professional, and even gave him a cookie for the occasion. We will definitely be back!“

“Stosh's Kolaches in Parma is truly a hidden gem. A couple started this little business in 2022, and even though they’re only open on Saturdays, they somehow manage to bake around 4,000 cookies a week — and it shows in the quality.

There are so many flavors to choose from, and every single kolache looks perfectly baked. The ones I tried were soft, buttery, and literally melted in my mouth. Absolute perfection. Honestly, it’s a dangerous place to live near if you have a sweet tooth!

My only complaint? They’re only open one day a week — I would be there constantly if they weren’t! Their website says online ordering is coming soon, which will be amazing and make these delicious kolaches even easier to get.

Since my girls were born, from their baptism to communion and our yearly holiday family gatherings for my girls’ Christmas birthday, I always buy from Whites flower , because you never disappoint.

This year, was a little different for us. I had totally forgotten to pick up my girls’ birthday cake on Saturday afternoon. By the time my husband and I remembered that the cake needed to be picked up, the cake shoppe was already closed for the day and the Sunday the following day the shop was closed for business. But the owners of white flower went above and beyond to make sure my husband was able to get my girls’ birthday cake. It was such a relief that my girls were able to celebrate their party that day with a special birthday cake, which is always the highlight of the party. It’s not just you made my day, you made my 2 nine-year-old daughters incredibly happy on their birthday.

“Meg’s challah is the best, and her customer service is, too! We ordered a pesto mozzarella challah that was incredible — soft inside and crunchy outside and full of flavor. She baked each challah with love, and she’s so passionate about her work. This isn’t her full-time job, just a hobby turned passion turned side hustle. You can tell she keeps it up because it brings her joy — and in doing so, she brings joy to others. I wish I lived a little closer so I could order on a more regular basis. Croissants are the best I’ve had in Cleveland. So many flaky layers, perfect texture, just the right amount of sweetness. Green tea roll cake was also phenomenal. “Everything at Corbo’s is so fresh. We started going to Little Italy location years ago and now Playhouse location since we stay downtown when coming to Cleveland Clinic. It’s nice coming for a good cup of coffee and breakfast. Whether you want a sweet treat or breakfast sandwich, everything is superb including lunch. This is a nice spot to catch a break and has the best customer service . We will be lifetime customers ! ❤️“

It looks like they’re doing some renovations, so parts of it have that old-school charm while other areas are getting a bit of a refresh. Other spots look like they need scrubbing. The donuts were excellent—fresh, flavorful. Self-serve. You can tell this place has been around a while. Some unique candy options I have not seen before. A payphone too!?
