I wish they had MUSTARD so I could put some MUSTARD on my MANGO SUSHI, but they don't... -1 atmosphere

I explained the flavor of the SUSHI PIZZA to my friend ADRIAN, gave him a sample, he gave it a 6-7, I gave him an early grave

The gyoza was the only slight disappointment, as it tasted more like something cooked from frozen rather than made in-house. Still, that’s a small trade-off considering how great the salmon sushi was overall.

“We ordered Party Tray 3 from Sushi Umi for our family of four, including two high school students, and it was a very satisfying amount for all of us. Everyone was full and happy 🥰.

The tray had a great variety of rolls with fresh fish, well-balanced flavors, and beautiful presentation (just like the photos).

The sushi rice was nicely seasoned, the fish tasted fresh, and each roll felt thoughtfully made. Also, their dumplings were amazing—crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful inside. Even the teenagers loved them, which says a lot!

Sushi Umi delivered on both quality and portion size. It was a perfect choice for a family meal, and we’d definitely order again. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a generous and delicious sushi tray 🍣🥟“

“It was our first time trying the Omakase experience and we were amazed.
Food: The quality and freshness was 10/10, the flavours were amazing, the first bite was HEAVENLY. The chef was showing us the ingredients and the types of fish, the staff was explaining how fresh it was, where it was coming from and what were the ingredients of each dishes. We had the option of adding the uni (sea urchin) for an extra 25$ and we don’t regret it. It was definitely unique but so fresh, and the staff took the time to come asked us about how we liked it or not after the meal. Drinks were beautifully crafted and delicious (we had a berry based vodka one). The wine recommendation was spot on and delicious.

Service: Service was really great. Chef Hikaru (who speaks Japanese only) found ways to communicate with us (he has a little translater tool) and make us feel special. The rest of the staff and owner were attentive, kind and entertained us.

Atmosphere: Atmosphere was lovely and intimate. Sitting at the bar was great to look at the chef and experience this fully. It wasn’t too loud. Lighting was dimmed and perfect for the atmosphere.

It’s an expensive experience, but we felt like it was definitely worth it for the freshness of the food, the taste, the service and ambiance. We will definitely come back for a special occasion!“

“I had heard about this restaurant from quite a few people for a while and knew I had to try it. As a sushi enthusiast, I am very pleased to say that it surpassed my expectations. This is likely one of the best sushi spots in Ottawa.

The food was very good, I’d say an 8/10. I would be happy to go back here and try out other dishes. The special rolls were all very good and presented very nicely. I think the taste just falls short of the best sushi I’ve ever had, but is still highly recommendable.

Service was decent, nothing very good or bad either way. They were friendly and knowledgeable when asked questions.

“Ever since the new guy is in the kitchen cooking the meat, portion size has decreased and this makes me so mad. I've been going there for years and many times per month, but since 2 years I went only 3 times, at best. I always take Yakisoba duo with chicken and beef with extra shrimp. For the longest time, my extra was ACTUALLY an extra, but now since the new guy is there, if I take an extra shrimp, he gives me a lot less chicken and beef... Like if I pay for an extra, it is to get a freaking extra, not to get less of other stuff!!! Damn it frustrate me. I went there religiously before because I love it so much.“

“I ordered the bulgogi through Uber eats and it was AMAZING 😍 even though pickup took a little long, the restaurant kept my food hot until the driver arrived. By the time it was delivered, it was the perfect temperature and absolutely delicious. I didn't even stop to take pictures from how amazing it smelled.
