“Went for dinner tonight with a good friend who had never been to Rise Above Pizza and Wings before, so we tried a little bit of everything. Sweet potato fries and the delicious sesame slaw paired with an order of wings in two flavours (maple garlic and Sriracha lime, yum!), plus the Carbonara Pizza at the recommendation of Spencer, our server. Every bite of the meal was amazing, especially the crispy texture of the wings and the creamy balance of the pizza sauce. Spencer took the whole experience to the next level though with their sparkling energy, attentiveness and friendliness from our entry all the way to perfectly divided bills at the end. “When I found out about Indonesian’s Flavour I was a bit hesitant but I tried their food and was surprised and happy that I did not have to travel far such as to Mississauga or Toronto to eat satay , nasi goreng or rendang , etc . It is all in the Hammer /Farmer’s market . Hamilton is lucky to have Indonesian cuisine , which can come to you mild or really spicy . …You just have to ask . Now if we can only ask them to get a bigger restaurant with lots of chairs and tables for a truly good and yummy dining experience !“

“We dined as 1st time customers. Service was good. Decor and ambience were great. We were guided to our seats. Menu is straightforward. Waiting times for food are not long. We ordered jidori Paitan shoyu ramen, chintan shoyu ramen, salad, and gyoza side. They were adequately portioned, fairly priced, delicious, flavorful, and filling. We were satisfied with our orders. Area is great for casual dining and chats with friends. I highly recommend.“

“I was in Hamilton for a concert with my family, and I'd always heard that Hamilton was the best place to find an authentic Maritime donair. A quick Google search led me to this spot, and Lord tunderin, I wasn't disappointed! The donair speaks for itself, so you should go in and get one. It had the exact right amount of donair meat, so much of that authentic donair sauce, the ingredients were fresh, and the service was friendly. It was inexpensive and honestly, it took me right back to having donairs when I lived home in Newfoundland. 100% recommend this place; you should check it out!“

“Fantastic food and great service. Ordered takeout on a whim while visiting from out of town and staying across the street. Some of the best lentil soup I’ve ever had! Loved that it was puréed.

Nice options for treats to choose from, but I think my highlight was the service provided by the barista! I ordered a hot matcha latte and I saw her take her time in whisking the matcha while crafting the drink. It tasted wonderful and had no clumps at all.“

The ambiance was a delight, the kitchen was busy with takeaway orders right when they opened and the bartender was nice. My pint of beer was nice and cold and my club sandwich was over the top awesome and left me feeling full. “I recommend the Locke St location which is excellent. But I just had delivery from either the King W or Dundas one that was brutal. Tortellini soup had like 3 Tortellinis and the burgers had clearly been pre cooked but not reheated tastied like cold grease and the cheese was not even remotely melted and still cold. Anyway the Locke location is awesome but wont do delivery again in case the delivery service goes to another location.“
