“Studio 89 has always been a place of comfort for me. I do miss the old location but the energy and passion has only amplified at this location. This place continues to inspire and remind me of the importance of kindness, humanity and consistent strive for community change. On my most recent visit, I attended a coffee watercolour paint day, where the café repurposed used coffee grinds. This innovative practice caught my attention, as well as placing it near international dog day (also my dogs birthday) allowed me to bring my dog and my parents to participate in accessible outdoor fun for all of us and creating some art to celebrate a fun day. This was just one example of the many ways 89 continues to inspire me and the community at large.“

“From the inside-out, it truly has a nice Mexican vibe. The bright, colourful exterior draws you in, and the rustic, cozy interior is a welcome change from the ultra-modern, industrial restaurants that all seem to look the same these days. It has so much character, and the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of charm.

I've been here twice now, and both visits have been fantastic. While waiting for our food, we happily munched on the chips and salsa which are super addictive and a nice way to start our meal.

On my first visit, I ordered the Carne Asada tacos (grilled AAA sirloin topped with onion and cilantro), these were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Honestly, I was already planning my next visit before I finished the last taco.

The second time around, we shared the Chimichangas and the Baja Tacos, and somehow they were just as impressive. Crispy, fresh, flavour-packed, and clearly made with care. At this point, I'm convinced you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

If you're looking for some nice Mexican food (I don't claim to know much about Mexican cuisine, but if this is the bar for good Mexican, I am IN!) , generous portions, and a vibrant atmosphere that feels as good as the food tastes, this spot absolutely deserves a visit. Nothing beats the summer vibes of having a Corona, tacos, and outside patio.

“Their chimney ice cream cones have a bunch of vegan flavours. Very good filling and the soft serve ice cream was great. Can be a bit messy as some liquids leak at the bottom but overall great flavour. They also have a bunch of lunch menu items such as burgers and tacos, however they are quite pricey.“

“The restaurant has an amazing ambience. They give you a fine dining experience. The food was great, their masala champ gravy with runmali naan is a must try. The Gulab Jamun Tiramisu is an interesting dessert. The only thing that caused me to give 4 stars was that the bottom layer of the tiramisu was soggy and didn’t taste good at all.“

I recently hosted a birthday party there and from the moment I initially checked out the venue, the events manager, Michelle, was extremely helpful and accommodating. She was very professional and made the whole planning process such a breeze. My guests and I were very happy with the food, service and ambiance of the restaurant. Not to mention that the restaurant is already so pretty, you don’t need much to decorate your event! On day of the party, the servers were very attentive and welcoming.
