“1-Follow up on reservations for my party by the restaurant hours ahead-and seating location was as requested.Notified we had two for service that day -Catt /Makayla .2-Informed both-we were catching up our once a month chit/chat and they informed us of the menus - etc —choices were made on our part with both of them checking on our various selections and keeping things flowing all the time.-questions of changing salad dressings with our selections-just one of the changes after that a few more but never gave the suggestion to us that it was any problem.-Several times we were asked how are things going-was there any thing we did not have or do we wish to change anything that was just not what we thought we were Ordering from the menus. We said no and they said enjoy your time .We did and again we left knowing that is a place in Barrie you might wanted to add to seek and find list of where to eat in Barrie,Ontario soon.“

And everything was great was there tonight for another 2 orders of chicken tenders and fries, unfortunately they came out not like anything I’ve seen before, not even Wendy’s quality. Small over cooked and fries were cold and from the bottom of the basket. Wife didn’t want to complain but I’m sorry I had to 15$ for overcooked Burt chick tenders and fries wasn’t flying. So I brought mine back. Wife choked her chicken down left all the fries. The owner was there and fixed the issues promptly, kudos to him and a huge thank you. As a local and this place is raving about its food and service. Please don’t serve crap any longer try to exceed people’s expectations and you will survive. Thanks again for fixing the mistake much appreciated.“

This time, we splurged for the new cheesecake that our server, Shannon recommended for desert. Needless to say, we will be back on our way home next week as the girls haven’t stopped talking about the cheesecake. “We’ve been a couple times this summer. Split the 2 Piece Fish & Chips. Today I had the Chilli Cheese Dog with fries. Almost to much, but I got through it. Seating Inside, Outside Covered and Uncovered. Friendly staff and fair prices. We’ll be back.“

“Went for breakfast with my best friend. Had a wonderful meal. I ordered the spinach and feta omelet and a coffee. While waiting for my meal, the waitress would pass me and forget to ask me if I'd like another coffee. Now, in all fairness, it was quite busy, and she was on her own. This is the only reason I didn't give 5 starts. The meal was very good . I do like this wimpy's diner because it is open and seats many people without feeling crowded.“

“Eggs Benedict was amazing & the shredded hashbrowns were perfectly golden...the sauce was buttery & creamy with a wonderful flavor. This was my experience the 1st visit. Since then, I have been back twice & my poached eggs were overcooked both vists... There must be different employees in the kitchen. I suggest a timer for the poached eggs in the kitchen if the staff are new to a commercial kitchen. I asked for soft & I got served well done. The second time the manager gave me a discount.
This location was reasonably clean; the window area (wood) was not cleaned in quite some time.

Prime rib Benny is also great with fresh peppers & hollandaise sauce (great tasting sauce).
All American breakfast was also delicious & the coffee had nice fresh flavor.
Beautiful prints adore the walls & the location is well lite.
This location appeared well staffed for a busy morning breakfast. This made for little waiting time before we were seated. Reasonable time to be served our meal from the kitchen after ordering.
Overall, the food & decor is why I gave a 5 star rating.“

“We were so incredibly pleased with our stop at this location. We called in advance as we were showing up close to closing time from a road trip, and they were kind enough to be kind about it and accept us.

When we were having trouble ordering, instead of upselling us, Diane was honest enough to suggest a single combo upgrade so my wife and I could share and save us that cash. Although it was more than clear we were pressed for time, Diane never made us feel unwelcome or burdensome. She was professional and kind throughout our multiple interactions.

The food arrived promptly, and was very delicious. We got the roast beef dinner, which tasted so great. I wish the mashed potatoes were a little creamier and the bun not so hard, but everything was great. We finished the food promptly. It's interesting that I read a review that mentioned a watered down drink, because our ginger ale did taste a bit watery.

When our meal was still not done past closing, we were again not made to feel burdensome, unwelcome, or uncomfortable. I believe there were two managers at the back that we thanked and gave good feedback to and now this positive review! We actually hadn't been to Swiss Chalet in a very long time, and this has been a pleasant and welcome surprise, and maybe we'll start visiting more often closer to home“
