“Ran into this place the day before the marathon. Sat at the bar and got recommendations on what to get from the staff. Everything was fantastic. “My wife and I dropped in for lunch on a quiet afternoon to try the restaurant out; it had been quite a while since we had been here. My wife had a great fish sandwich. She reported that it was light, flaky, and crispy - and not at all greasy. I tried the Buffalo chicken burger. Excellent - it was tender and not overcooked, and with just the right amount of Buffalo sauce, not overwhelmingly spicy but flavorful. And our server was friendly and there when we needed her for service.“

“This is home. The heart of the Eastern Market since I was a little girl. This place and Mike's are pillars for Detroit classics. Service is always A1. My mom always gets their breakfast which they give ginormous portions and I either get a corned beef sandwich or a coney and chili cheese fries. They dont miss!“

I waited like 15+ mins in the rain to order. I walked inside half way through the wait to look for someone, never found anyone. Went back outside & waited with 4 more people & no one ever came so after 15+ mins, I went upstairs to the store & asked for help. The girl working found the cook (who also takes the orders) & just happened to be on lunch. I wouldn't have minded waiting if there would've been a little 30 min break sign up or something. Honestly it seemed like he either hated his job or he's definitely overworked & maybe the only employee besides the girl upstairs Even though customer service was not good, the food was amazing & I'll definitely eat there again next time I'm in town.“

My only complaint was the staff could be a little more welcoming and enthusiastic. The lady at the door was on her phone on a facetime call when we came in (which she did appologize for but didn't get off the phone) and the waitress just seemed short and not really happy. She wasn't rude and got our order right, so I still gave it 5 stars. It just seemed with the atmosphere that they would be a little bubblier and more enthusiastic. But I would still definitely come there again. I still gave 5 stars for service because maybe it was an off day and like I said they didn't mess our order up and were quick.“

Stopped in before a game at Comerica, and it was a fantastic way to kick off the day. Though the place was short-staffed, the service didn’t miss a beat. Our waitress and the busser were both clearly busy, but they still delivered outstanding service. The coffee was hot with quick refills, and our food came out fast, fresh, and solid all around. Pricing was more than fair for the quality and portion sizes. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!“

“For a stereotypical American breakfast-type chain restaurant, the food is pretty good and consistent. I've never had any real issues with my orders and IF there was a mistake it was always minor and corrected immediately with an apology and a smile.

The atmosphere is a bit nostalgic which is part of the charm for me personally. It feels old school and comforting which is nice in a fast-paced world.

The customer service is really why I'm here to write this review though. Having frequented this place so much to the point where a few of the servers know exactly who I am and what I want (lol), it's still always a pleasant interaction and warm smiles all around.
