“Wonderful experience at Artistic Cake Design. The cake I ordered for my husband's birthday was even better than I had imagined and tasted amazing too. Super friendly staff as well.P.S. If you just need buttercream (and want to do your own decorating) - this bakery sells it too and it is absolutely wonderful to work with.“

“Great spot for a good cup of coffee! People I was with said the food was great!“
“Duke's has changed a lot since opening because they're always growing their services and products.I finally got a sandwich! One of the better sandwiches in the Ottawa area, with an affordable price of $8.95 each (March 2024). They could use some more topping options, like sun dried tomatoes, banana peppers, artichoke dip, or sauerkraut, but it still has decent toppings. More sauces than Dijon mustard and mayo would be really great, like a spicy mayo, pesto, or pesto mayo. Ultimately, it is quite good and I recommend it.People seem to love Nocastro's but I was underwhelmed there. Duke's is definitely the better sandwich choice.I can't give it 5 stars because the best European Deli I've been to is Vincenzo's in Kitchener ON, and it's just a level above.“

“Amazing food, 10/10 experience. The guy working the shawarma station is very patient and explained everything to me in great detail when I wasn’t sure what to order. The beef shawarma is very tasty and flavorful. The garlic potatoes are cooked perfectly and were even better with paired with the garlic sauce. I would 1000% be coming back with family and friends knowing they would enjoy the food and the atmosphere like me.“

“I would like to salute the owner of Baklawa King for a job excellently done. The quality of everything offered whether deserts, food, coffee, or refreshments is excellent. His kibbeh, qatayef, and quality is that of a state of the art. His shop is spic and span in cleanliness and organization. One feels truly welcomed at Baklawa King thanks to the warm greetings and sincere courtesy of the team.“

“I love that so many of their items are just honest to goodness, old school, like grandma used to make desserts and pastries, with the occasional new/unique treat thrown in to keep things interesting. I highly recommend their chocolate cake and ginger molasses cookies.“

“It is the best bakery in Ottawa for fresh bread and baked good in general. It is the only bread we buy now. Great staff too and very courteous. Best thing to come to Barrhaven! Thank you!“

“A small grocery shop with a nice seating arrangements where you can grab a quick bite of shawarma. The ambiance is cozy, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely meal too. The menu boasts an array of authentic Lebanese dishes that are both flavorful and reasonably priced. Meat was a bit too salty though. For those intending to explore the grocery, always check the expiry dates of the products: in several cases I found food items that were well beyond their expiry dates.Nevertheless, whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or just looking to explore something new, this little neighborhood spot is worth a visit.“
“Had the pleasure of visiting this quaint little family owned bakery in Bells Corners. Met the owner and Mel who provided impeccable customer service. Made me feel so welcome and appreciated Mel is quite the asset to this business The bakery is very bright and comfortable. They have a wide variety of cakes. I love pistachios and they had a multi layered pistachio cake, which is one of their signature cakes. Very light and airy and creamy. Many cakes and pastries to choose from.“
“Well organized compact shop to get your European essentials. There is a deli with Halendas products, a full commercial kitchen, skincare products, grains and flours, snacks, desserts and more. While we were there, they were cooking some delicious looking roast pig which smelled incredible! The cheese burek was very good, but quite expensive for its size.Parking: Plenty of parking in front of the shop.“

“A few months ago, as a customer for years, I would have had to give it a lower rating due to the customer service. But recently they’ve hired awesome new staff, the food tastes better than ever, and I actually saw one of the workers wash his hands like 10 times in the few minutes I was there which I never saw before. Will be back ☺️“

“Second Cup Coffee on Stranded Drive in Barrhaven exceeded all expectations! The cappuccino with almond milk was superb, complemented perfectly by their delectable carrot cake and sandwich. The standout, however, was the exceptional service provided by the server. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, they truly made the experience memorable. Five stars without a doubt!“

“A fantastic mom and pop show with amazing service and food. I regularly come here during my lunch for a quick, delicious and filing bite. They also allow you to add extra toppings to your pies for a small fee. Me recommendation is a meat pie, add hummus, lettuce, tomatoes and hot peppers. To me this beats any shawarma I have tried in the city. They also have shawarmaVegetarian options: Falafel, zaatar, spinach, cheese piesDietary restrictions: They have gluten free dough“
“No.70 Cake is a little bakery in an industrial part of town. It is Asian-owned and they make desserts that are less sweet than traditional desserts in North America. They have cakes, including Mille Crepe cakes, cookies and squares. Their desserts come in cool flavours like Earl Grey, Black Sesame, and Yuzu. They opened sometime in 2022. I got a slice of their Yuzu Cream cake, admittedly because it was on sale, lol. It was only $3.99 a slice, while all the other cakes were in the $6.99-$9.99 range. The slices are pretty small, so I did find the regular prices...er...pricey, haha. However, that seems to be the trend these days. Everything is pricey. The cake was delicious. Both the cake and the whipped cream frosting were light and airy and not too sweet. It had a subtle yuzu flavour. I would definitely recommend No70 Cake if you like cake but find conventional cakes too sweet. Service was courteous and quick. There's free parking in the plaza parking lot. Two spots are reserved for No70 Cake customers. Most spots are reserved for certain businesses, but there are a few free-for-all spots too.“
