“Literally a hidden gem since no one really talks or post about it on social media. Spontaneously walked into TAKI Japanese Cuisine for dinner one weekend, and we were so thankful that they were able to take the 2 of us in for omakase dinner at the bar!

They took over the same space as Rin Sushi with the same decor and same layout. The waitresses who served us that evening wore traditional Japanese kimonos; the chef and staff all spoke in Japanese. Food and service were amazing!

They have an omakase promo right now for 95/pp, which imo is a pretty good deal for the quality and experience! I am actually excited to come back and check out the Sukiyaki dinner for 2 people (U.S. Angus & Japan Wagyu beef) for next time!“

“Ordered takeout from this place on a weekday. The resto occupies the spot that Apron Cafe used to sit in.

My order was ready in 15-20 min. Walked in and was greeted warmly by the hostess who handed me my food.

I ordered a yuzu miso pork loin and an okonomiyaki.

The pork was crispy and juicy. The miso sauce was great! I get very similar vibes between this place and Katsuya. The menus also look VERY similar.

Okonomiyaki was tasty as well. I liked the fresh salad on top.

Overall, food quality was excellent! I do think it was quite pricey though for the quantity of food. Prolly wouldn't be a regular because of the price.

Will return to try some of their other katsu flavours!“

“Had an excellent experience with Shinta today, specially for the services as the servers staffs were attentive and kind.(it was an Sunday busy but we felt like we had our own servers which is excellent!)They kept our table clean and change the grill very frequently. “The quality of the food at this restaurant is well beyond anything you would expect in the suburbs. The fish tastes fresh and the rice is high quality sushi rice. Generally you have to head to downtown to get sushi/sashimi that tastes this good.
The service is suburb, they actually make you feel like you matter and that you are at a friends house.
Finally, for the quality of the food the prices are more than reasonable.
I also like that I can get Soju at this restaurant as I prefer it with sushi to Sake.
I can recommend Akane without reservation.“

“Awesome place. I haven't had celiac friendly sushi for a very long time. I am very sensitive and get really sick if I eat any gluten or even something cross-contaminated. Tomo Japanese Restaurant was a great experience in terms of food, service, atmosphere, and above all safety for me and my son. People with Celiac and NCGS, Tomo is a really nice place with safe gluten-free food, highly recommended. :)“

“I went here with my partner for dinner and we got combo set B, with a regular rosé cream pasta, one japanese hamburg steak, and the spring blossom rolls. The food was quite good; I enjoyed the spiciness of the rosé sauce in the fusion pasta, and my partner liked his hamburger steak, but did note that he liked my pasta a lot too. Both of us thought the sushi rolls were delicious and unique- the presentation was beautiful and the apple and yuzu tobiko on top of the rolls added a light, fresh fruity taste to the dish. Overall, we would rate the food a 8/10, however, it is a tad more on the expensive side in terms of price per portion.

The service was really good- both waiters were extremely kind and attentive. The atmosphere was also cozy and quiet, and the decor was very tasteful. For both service and atmosphere, we would rate it a 9/10. We will likely be returning to try some of the other options on their menu.

A note is that there isn’t a lot of above ground parking, but there is an underground parking garage with a lot of space and free parking for 3 hours.“

“LOVE Sapporo sushi!! I feel like this store is so hidden that it's an easy miss, but if you're ever looking for a sushi shop with delicious rolls I highly recommend! First time coming I ordered the Salmon Magic Roll (not pictured) and the roll was stuffed with filling and so saucy and yummy, different than any other salmon rolls I've had in the past. I've also tried their dinner special that comes with a hand roll and it was also very good! Service was also so friendly and staff were super attentive. Would definitely recommend!!“

“It was amazing service and food. Love the cool cherry blossom tree. It was a perfect atmosphere for my date night. The Okinawa breeze cocktail was so refreshing and a nice amount of citrus. As well, definitely recommend Bakudan sushi roll and aburi sushi.“

“Like a neighborhood japanese restaurant. I think it runs by a Japanese lady and a chef. I wanted to try my lunch somewhere new, and this place seems to exist for long, but I've never been. So I decided to make a visit.We ordered Miyabi set for two, which came with salad, steamed egg(which I love), assorted sushi and sashimi, ice cream for dessert.Food serving is very slow. You need to be very patient. But yes, it's really fresh and feels like you are invited to a Japanese house for lunch. Our tea was refilled every 10 minutes. I would go again when I'm not in a rush or take out next time.“

“This is our go-to AYCE sushi restaurant. The quality is really good and the servers are so kind. They know who we are and are very welcoming. We come to often because of that and because the food is so delicious (sushi but also beef udon and shrimp skewers!). The only critique is sometimes some items will take a long time to come out or get missed, but the servers are always on top of it when we let them know. We love this place!“

They filled the insulated bag with ice, so I went home after shopping and it wasn't melted at all. I shared it with my husband today, but from next time we each decided to have one shaved ice.“
