“This place is a sure gem! Everything from the top notch service to the clean and neat environment, to the exquisite desserts. We were so impressed. I had the 'Fruitmania' and it was very good. It was the first time trying ashta and the more I ate it, the more I fell in love with it. It was perfectly paired with the strawberry and mango juice. The right amount of sweetness! “Simply the best dark chocolate cake in the city. Barbershop seems to be known for its Lemon Bichon and this AMAZING cake, but man the sausage rolls, the almond croissants, the apple turnovers, etc are all amazing as well. Just order anything in the window and be happy you found a slice of joy in your day no matter what it is.“

“We used Kwento for our wedding last year. They delivered a beautiful, classic-looking cake, which was exactly what we wanted. The Citrus Olive Oil flavour was amazing, so many guests complimented it! Overall, Kwento was amazing to work with, especially Maria!“

“All the cakes looked astonishing and attempting. While I was purchasing, the service was super. They were patiently waiting for me to order and nicely providing me with suggestions and services. The taste of the cake was also amazing. Trying Fraisier and La Paix while I’m writing this review, Fraisier (the fruit one) has a strong taste and the fruits are fresh and juicy, La Paix (the lemon one) has multiple layers of texture and the lemon pieces on the top tastes spiral and I loved it.“

“Absolutely beautiful and delicious pastries! The staff were so kind and helpful, especially when deciding what to get. We got the almond croissant, the raspberry pistachio pastry, and the ham & brie croissant sandwich. All were absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area or visiting Toronto. Not the cheapest but for a special treat, definitely worth it!“

Back then, it felt like a breath of fresh air—a modern, clean haven offering a dazzling variety of delicious creations. I quickly learned that the magic behind it all was Nadège Nourian, a fourth-generation French pastry chef from Lyon. Knowing her family's rich history made every bite feel like a connection to a long, beautiful tradition of craftsmanship.

Over the years, this place has become a constant in my life. It's where I go for the intricate layers of the Marie Antoinette cake, a true masterpiece of flavour and texture. The individual donut cakes are a sweet, delightful indulgence, and the canelés—my absolute must-have—are a perfect symphony of crispy, caramelized shell and soft, custardy center. They are the simple, elegant pastries I always return to, a little taste of perfection every time.

“Came in about 30 minutes to close looking for a bit beverage and a croissant. The employee working tonight advised that she had just cleaned the machine, but the croissant would be no big deal.

Would you believe she actually made a latte for me? Super awesome end of day treat.

“I finally had the chance to visit Bomou with my fam and it was a lovely experience from start to finish! We had the lemon meringue tart, bostock (brioche with almonds and flavoured with orange), apple caramel cookies, butter croissant, a piece of pie, a baguette, and an earl grey canele. To drink we had the coffee, an oat milk cappuccino, and the lavender lemonade! We also bought some of the loose leaf mint tea as a gift. Everyone adored what they ordered! All of the pastries were beautiful to the eye and wonderful on the palate! Flavours such as the orange in the bostock, the lemon in the tart and even the earl grey in the canele were fragrant and gentle, never overpowering or overwhelming! Beautiful texture to all the foods and even the drinks were impressive and expertly crafted! Their coffee is some of the very very best I have had in Canada. (Rich and velvety, non-astringent and not-sharp.) If you want a proper cup of coffee you’ll find it here!!! Their lavender lemonade is gorgeous! I love lavender and found this to be a delicate and refreshing combination and recommend you definitely try it out!!! (Plus the bottle is lovely!) We all were impressed with the helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff and were amazed by the talent and creativity of their baker/chef! Thank you Boumou for a delicious experience!!!!!“

“Went to Butter Baker for brunch two weekends in a row. This place has a very quiet, lowkey vibe if you're early enough, but gets very busy throughout the brunch hours. The wait to be seated can be up to 40 minutes at times, so I recommend arriving early to secure a spot. We ordered the Yuzu chicken and waffles and the honey garlic chicken and waffles, and were impressed by both. The Yuzu tossed chicken was tangy and paired perfectly with the sweet waffles. The portion sizes were a bit inconsistent, but otherwise a great meal.“

“There is 'big A' ACCESSIBILITY, wherein establishments make themselves a welcoming environment to those with disabilities and special needs; then there is 'little a' accessibility, where they will manage, tolerate, and make you feel uncomfortable at best. I'd like to give Future Bakery at the corner of Brunswick and Bloor a solid 5/5 little a's for their (lack) of AODA aware service today. I don't think members of your community who have lived here for decades deserve to leave your establishment crying because of the lack of knowledge or compassion from your staff and service. Step up and perhaps (re)train everyone re: AODA guidelines? I will no longer be returning. LEVEL UP Future Bakery , thanks for adding insult to injury: your takeout cups are faulty, and mine fell out from the bottom including pouring my hot coffee all over me.“

“I got Empanadas and churros. AMAZING!!!! The chorizo empanada was one of the best I got 3 and probably can have some more. Churro dulce del leche was a perfect combination.The only thing was the countumer service very slowwww. I went to the Harbourfront location.“

“I ordered a birthday cake here the first time. I expected the writings will be placed on top of the retangular cake. There are lots of empty spaces... why they put the writing on a very tiny piece of chocolate and put it at the side of the bottom. It was hardly to see what was in the writing. For what occasion and for who! Quite disappointed! And they charged me a price of $17 more according to their listed price of $65 for a 8"x12" cake. Plus an extra of $20 for the pair of baby shoes (a plastic toy) for decoration. I also tried their bread, also find the textures are hard to chew... I wont return again.“

I have a family function to go to with my wife and after getting hung up at work I nearly forgot that I agreed to pick up the refreshments. I arrived literally about 5 minutes to closing and the curly haired gentleman was extremely generous with his time sorting me out with a proper assortment of delicious treats that everyone can enjoy. It's nice to see the young people caring about their work and still willing to go the extra mile. This place has earned.me.as a customer for sure.“
