“Second time here. Tasting menu both times. Some repeats (venison, wage) as well as some new dishes. All were very good to exceptional- venison, risotto with white truffles were highlights. Professional, friendly service from all the staff and especially Jordan, the young sommelier. 1 oz pour of D'Yquem 2001- what a treat. Room is opulent and warm. Deserving of their star.“

“A Hidden Gem for Brunch!!
I came here with 3 of my girlies that love brunch. Everything we ordered was fresh, light, and absolutely delicious.
We started with some drinks which were super affordable compared to other brunch places. The espresso martinis weren’t too sweet and had the perfect balance.
As for the dishes the standout for me was the smoked salmon toast. The combination of the eggs, fresh dill, and sliced salmon on top of toast was so yummy.
Service was nice and the place was cozy/bright. Highly recommend this spot for a girls’ brunch or casual date.“

“Tucked away in the neighborhood, Little Jerry is the kind of place you stumble upon once and never forget. Every dish feels like it’s made with love and intention by Chef Adam, who clearly pours his heart into every plate. The flavours are comforting yet creative — like dining at a friend’s home who just happens to be an incredible chef.
The owner and hosts were genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. And the vibe? Just perfect — vinyl records spinning in the background, setting an atmosphere that’s cozy, nostalgic, and effortlessly cool.
If you’re looking for a place that feeds both your heart and your appetite, Little Jerry is it. ✨“

“Very nice venue with art and decor. Winterlicious Apps and main dish (steak) were a little too salty in my opinion. Noise level was awful with the club next to us. All we heard were vibrating sounds. Insulation of the venue itself was quite poor; cold winds seeping through the walls. We ate dinner with our coats on. Not ideal. The most they could've done was offered us a free coffee.“

“Quaint bar. Lovely date spot. Drinks are delish. Food also. Their version of old fashioned is super tasty. We had arancini balls, caesar salad and pasta. Soo yummy!
Happy hours 3 -5pm. $12 house cocktails.
Cant wait to go back!“

“Discovered and visited this place for the first time today and I have a feeling I’ll be back in no time. The food menu is very unique and excellent for pairing with any of the wines they have. And the wine selection is excellent. If you are a fan of rose or orange wine then you will feel like a kid in a candy store here. And our server Ainsley was very welcoming and really amazing at recommending a few items worth trying. Absolutely loved the radicchio salad. And there is also a nice patio outside.“

“Midfield is my favourite place!! The wine list is wonderful with special descriptions under each wine, there was this wonderful creamy and textured chardonnay blend which I am still dreaming about . Not only a wine bar, midfield is also a food gem in the city! the chef has a farm where the vegetables are grown with love and you can tell, there are very creative/thoughtful dishes with the best seasonal ingredients. I have especially loved when celtuce is in season and on the menu, but year round the salmon crudo in its different iterations always hits the spot.
Beyond the food and wine, the atmosphere is warm and very cozy. Everyone working is always incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and they seem to have an uncanny knack for recommending what I should drink, its like we have the same palate.
If you're looking for a place with amazing wine, outstanding food go to Midfield!!!!“

“Vibes. Vibes. Vibes. Came here with a friend at like 10pm and got a coffee with some 10/10 seahorse latte art. The service from Matt and Terell was so good we stayed for drinks and food and have already returned since. Photo of the art for reference:“

“I was pleasantly surprised by this place and it has already landed in my head as one of my new favourite spots in the city. It’s a cozy room that feels like a quiet escape from the street above. The pitched ceiling gives it a cottage-like warmth, and the overall vibe is comfortable and unpretentious.
Service stood out. The servers were attentive without hovering, checked in often, genuinely cared about the experience, and knew the menu well. They were also offering a special cocktail with part of the proceeds going toward relief for the recent fire in Hong Kong, which I appreciated. That sense of community came through, and the whole experience felt like a local window into a broader culture, with the chef clearly bringing their travels and experience to the table.
We went with the tasting menu and found it to be a satisfying amount of food. I left comfortably full. The chrysanthemum caesar was great. As someone who’s usually averse to veggies, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It’s a generous portion, but very shareable for two people and easy to eat. The balance of bitterness, salt, and umami worked well with the miso, pecorino, and sesame. The prawn toast okonomiyaki was a great appetizer too, crunchy and familiar in flavour but presented in a fun, different way. The dumplings had a nice chew to the dough and were flavourful. The drunken sablefish was cooked well and paired nicely with the brown butter sauce. The char siu was tender, glazed, and sweet with lots of depth. Dessert ended on a good note with the HK style egg custard, not overly sweet and I liked the pomelo and sago.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.“

“Here’s a hidden gem on King Street that doubles as both a bar and café, and I’m so glad we checked it out after a local stranger highly recommended it. The space is super charming, with plenty of indoor seating, but the real surprise is the outdoor patio - it’s much larger and nicer than you’d expect from the outside. Perfect for soaking up the gorgeous fall weather.
The menu has a nice mix of wine, beer, cocktails, and coffee, plus some light snacks to pair with your drinks. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for an afternoon latte as it does for after-work drinks or pre-drinks before heading out.
The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, making it easy to lose track of time here. We don’t usually venture down this way, but now that we know about it, we’ll definitely be back.“

“Popular place in Toronto, so gave it a try. Here's my take:
Service: pleasant
Food: Mixed
Steak tartare was light, fresh, nicely seasoned. Simply but well executed. Great call to have it available in appetizer size. The toast that came with it was a hit on its own.
Swiss train ride: their version of a Croque Madame, left a bit to be desired. While made with quality ingredients, exexution was not any better than a standard dinner. It was simply too dry, but the egg yolk helped with a few bites. The salad it came with also seemed rather hastily thrown together. The potato rosti it came with was crispy and light and was the best part of the dish.
Overall nice place. Will return to try the burger ans perhaps other dishes.“

“Had a fantastic time trying “Tiana’s special” date night menu. Highly recommend the corn tartlets and tandoori chicken wings for appetizers; packed with flavour!! HIGHLY recommend the lamb shank curry; the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavour! The butter chicken was also great! We also tried the Gully’s Tres Leches and it was a fantastic way to end the night! The chef/owner is a very cool and kind guy. 10/10 experience!“

“After a lighthearted evening watching & Juliet, we made our way to Scaddabush for some Italian comfort food.
All of EnD Adventures was together — our daughters, friends, and the two of us — which already set the tone for a memorable night out.
Despite the restaurant being packed, we were seated quickly. Our server, Noah, stopped by early with menus and the nightly specials. It was clear the entire team was hustling; drinks took longer than usual, but Noah was doing everything he could to keep the pace.
The space itself was a delight. Warm lighting, thoughtful décor, and those whimsical canned vegetables added a quirky charm that made the room feel inviting and full of character. There was always something interesting to notice.
The fresh mozzarella — their signature — absolutely lived up to its reputation. Creamy, rich, and beautifully prepared, it was easily the standout of the table.
Our meals arrived hot and exactly as ordered, and everyone enjoyed their choices. The only real downside was the long gaps between check-ins for drink refills or questions. With several large tables nearby and the restaurant buzzing, it was understandable, though still noticeable.
All in all, it was a lovely evening, and we’d happily return — perhaps to a quieter location next time, just to see how the service feels when the pace isn’t quite so intense.

“The food was fantastic and the service was great. I did feel the prices were a little high considering the décor and overall setting, as it's not really a fine-dining atmosphere. That said, the most important part—the food and service—were excellent.“

*UP DATE*
I have to change my review. I wanted something dary free because i’m intolerant. The server said that almost everything in The menu can be prepared without dary and suggested a very good dish. Unfortunately it was not dary free and I’ve been affected for days. It ruined my vacation…
I also want to add that we have been asked to write a good review and received a free dessert .“

“Perched discreetly above the bustling Le Banane restaurant, Bar Banane isn't just a waiting area; it’s a destination in its own right—a cool, sophisticated escape for the discerning drinker.
The atmosphere whispers of exclusivity, but the service is anything but stuffy. It's truly great, with attentive staff who guide you through a fascinating drink menu. Forget the standard fare; the cocktail program here is genuinely interesting and ambitious. Offerings like the Lovely Rita, a smoky, intriguing Mezcal-based concoction, and the Message in a Bottle hint at a thoughtful, high-level approach to mixology. (And for those who appreciate the classics, a dedicated selection of Negronis during Negroni Week certainly demonstrated their commitment to cocktail culture.)
As a devoted fan of pisco, I opted for the Message in a Bottle, a daring blend anchored by pisco and vanilla liqueur. While the spirit-forward nature of the drink was admittedly strong for my palate, its construction was undeniably expert. It achieved a beautiful balance, showing the skill of the bartender. The presentation was elevated further by a perfectly placed, torched peach garnish, adding a subtle, sweet, and smoky dimension that was a true delight.
Bar Banane operates on a higher plane of cocktail execution. It strikes that perfect balance: inventive drinks, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that feels both exclusive and welcoming. The strength of the menu is compelling enough to ensure that a return visit is not just a plan, but a priority!“

“Stumbled upon this coffee shop in Little Italy and it instantly became one of my favorite spots. It has the perfect chill vibe, great music playing in the background, and somehow the coffee is even better than the atmosphere.
It really feels like a hidden gem. The kind of place you want to keep to yourself, but also feel compelled to recommend. If you’re around Little Italy and looking for a relaxed spot with excellent coffee and a cool, laid back energy, this place is absolutely worth a stop.“

“Enigma was definitely a one start Michelin experience. Food is amazing and more than enough to be fulfilled. Dishes are greatly prepared with a variety from fish and meat. Even the chef came to serve one of the courses. The only thing I did not like is that we had to wait more than usual to be greeted in the restaurant and taken to our table, as well as we were asked for drinks a bit later than usual (when the first course was on the table). The wine pairing was good and excellent curated by the sumilier who provided great explanations, but, in my opinion, a bit overpriced for the quality of the wines. Would have been good to get a drinks menu to choose. Overall, a great experience to recommend for special occasions.“
“Cool neighbourhood spot. 15 dollar cocktails, good menu, paper planes, negroni's, old fashions, espresso martinis, all the core ones every good cocktail bar should have. I think it's also a cafe during the day.
They had a live DJ playing some Berlin type music not too loud which was a nice touch. There is some seating space in front of the patio, and next to the building to hang out. Tall beer cans and cocktails are 7-8 bucks which is a good deal. They have some non-alcoholic beers too which is nice.
Inside has that cool vintage hipster Berlin feel to it. No cover, no lineups, just a nice local neighbourhood bar near the bridge and a bunch of other autoshops. Was walking back from an art gallery and we just literally stumbled upon it and sat down for a catch up drink.
I feel like Toronto needs more places like this. Quiet neighbourhood bars with a nice selection of music, quality cocktails, not too expensive, no lines ups. Nice slightly mature place for people to catch up and have a drink without having to venture heavily into the Dundas West bar scene where it's way more hectic. Probably fits like 20 people so it's nice and intimate. Kind of reminds me of some of the bottle shops in Montreal where you can either drink it there and vibe or take it to the park right next to it. Place has some character to it. Would like to see it have a good solid run in Toronto's independent bar scene and be supported by the neighbourhood.
Next time I'm back I'll try out the cocktail menu and see if that's fire too. Can selection was interesting. I got a fruit punch vodka seltzer with 2 grams of sugar which was good. LBGTQ+ friendly but open to anybody really. Still has that cool Dundas West OG grunge premium dive bar feel all the hipsters like me enjoy. Keep up the great work Tommy!“

“Hit up Danny’s Pizza Tavern with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and it absolutely delivered. We shared the steak, Caesar salad, mozzarella sticks, pepperoni pizza, sausage and peppers pizza, and the tomato pie, and honestly, there wasn’t a weak link. “We had a wonderful experience at Tulia Osteria Bar The service was impeccable (thank you Andy!) and the food, amazing. We ordered the Antipasti Board to start and it was well curated and had ample portions. We followed this up a Pizzano pizza and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Very flavourful on both counts. And Pistachio gelato to finish. They are just getting started! Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!“

“One of the finest spots for true artisan pizza in Toronto! The crust is light, fresh, and perfectly baked, and every ingredient tastes high-quality. The menu is simple and focused- though I do wish they offered at least one chicken pizza option.
Weekdays tend to be a bit quiet, which actually makes it a nice, relaxed place to enjoy a meal without the rush. Overall, highly recommended if you love authentic, well-crafted pizza.“

“What a fantastic restaurant. Atmosphere and service were both on point. Dishes & cutlery changed before every new dish, water always filled, and all the items were described in wonderful detail. They even gave us an extra shrimp for the shrimp cocktail! For the stripped bass dish, they also gave us 2 separate portions of fish, which I noticed wasn’t how they served the dish to other patrons. I’m not sure if this was because they noticed we were sharing all the dishes, but it’s a really nice touch that’s easy to miss if that was the case. This is how you make an extraordinary experience. Grey Gardens does it almost on the level of Alo.
The menu is small but all the dishes are very creative and offer good variety. It’s underrated but the bread here is delicious. The red tail grain they use to make their bread is really delicious and the bread comes out so soft in the center but crispy and chewy on the outside.
Another highlight was the maitake dish. The barely they use at the bottom resembles a chewier risotto and the mushroom itself comes out so smokey. Not sure if this was from the cooking or from the addition of the black garlic in the sauce.
Striped bass was also cooked exceptionally well. I’ve never had fish skin that wasn’t battered and fried come out so crispy like I had here before. I just wished there was more of it. The hand torn lamb noodle dish was also very flavourful and the lamb essentially fell apart within the dish.“
