“The food was good. The beef tartar was amazing, as expected. We love how they roasted the bread with butter; it's crispy and flavourful. The sausage was different than we expected but in a good way. I like how they did the potato; it was soft but crunchy. The portion was okay. Two main dishes were good enough for the two of us for brunch.
The restaurant is small, so you might expect to wait 15-45 minutes.
The only minus point is that our server didn’t seem very friendly and attentive. He made us feel like we did something wrong when we asked for recommendations.“

“My girlfriend and I came here for a date night. We were not disappointed. The waitress was friendly and explained the menu to us. We ordered a few different plates to try and were amazed by how delicious the food was.
We would come here again. Food and service did not disappoint.“

“It was one of those difficult days. I was hungry and did not feel like cooking. Had no idea what to eat or where to go for some takeout. As I walk across, I see some picnic tables and bright orange umbrellas... the people seemed happy and chill, so I was like hello Ladybug!! I was greeted with a pleasant smile and a candlelit atmosphere. I sat at the bar and chatted with the waiter. I ordered a rum & coke then asked about their menu. The hot dish of the night was a Peruvian chicken... boy o boy, it did not disappoint. It had just the right kick of flavour(I'm sure they can add some heat if you ask). I ate enough to fill my tummy and saved the rest for lunch the next day.
I would recommend this place for a chill night of catch-up or a date night.
Thank you, Ladybug, for a welcoming and enjoyable dinner!!“

“What an unreal experience at a Michelin star restaurant – truly culinary art at its finest. This was everything fine dining should be about: impeccable service, an elegant atmosphere, and unforgettable food. Our waiter, Naz, was outstanding and made my wife’s birthday feel extra special. The best part? They catered perfectly to our halal dietary preferences, which was a huge plus. The menu was beautifully curated, and my personal favorites were the wagyu beef and the egg dish. And I can’t forget to mention the bread – so fresh, paired with their incredible butter and olive oil. Just an amazing night all around. Thanks for making the bday experience unforgettable!“

“Just had an anniversary dinner and Henry's provided a very memorable experience. The chef's choice tasting menu with matching wines at $140 per person reflects great value. All dishes were intricate and balanced and were well matched with excellent wine choices. Service was friendly and knowledgeable and they made us feel very welcome. Perhaps music a little more chill than hip-hop might be better suited to the elegance of the space and the quality of everything else.“

“Came on Sunday night, was surprised to see they have Sunday happy hour. There was a super nice vibe, cosy, dark, and good music (jazz, rnb, funk, rap, reggae, ext). Really nice for a date spot or just a casual hang out, some dancing even broke out. We Enjoyed A $40 bottle of wine between 2 ppl ❤️ really great time! Maybe ill get to try the food next time!!“

“Midfield is my favourite place!! The wine list is wonderful with special descriptions under each wine, there was this wonderful creamy and textured chardonnay blend which I am still dreaming about . Not only a wine bar, midfield is also a food gem in the city! the chef has a farm where the vegetables are grown with love and you can tell, there are very creative/thoughtful dishes with the best seasonal ingredients. I have especially loved when celtuce is in season and on the menu, but year round the salmon crudo in its different iterations always hits the spot.
Beyond the food and wine, the atmosphere is warm and very cozy. Everyone working is always incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and they seem to have an uncanny knack for recommending what I should drink, its like we have the same palate.
If you're looking for a place with amazing wine, outstanding food go to Midfield!!!!“

“I’ve been there twice now and I’ve been dying to go for a third time. Every time I’ve gone it’s been raining so I haven’t sat on their patio yet, but I love how everything looks inside. All the staff there are so nice and fun. Dying to bring more friends there.“

“Excellent mixologists. Didn’t love the cocktail menu (too much tequila, mezcal and gin based for my tastes), but pleased that everything I ordered was well balanced and not too sweet. Food was fantastic. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, but not that attentive on a Fri night. I shouldn’t have to go out of my way to catch someone’s attention to order another drink, my glass was empty for a while. Overall a fun place“

“Generally, the service is quite good, great atmosphere and very clear introduction on every cuisine and beverage.
First of all, great wine pair, even make us regret of not choosing the premium wine pair. The choice of wine is wise and decent, greatly fit the food, highlighting instead of interfering with the food. Wine itself do have different characteristics. Great experience with James ?
For the taste of the cuisine, the feeling is quite complicated. For the food itself, techiques and materials are fine. The main fish with the 70% lean wagyu is so impressive. Great balance between fatty and chewy. The black garlic sauce and shitake gravy are indeed 1+1>2.
But the flavor of first four cuisine are kind of overlapping. The combination of fruity sweet and sour is almost everywhere in the first 4 cuisine. It indeed interrupted us enjoy the fish dish. The Halibut in fish dish is soft and flavorful, and seasoned tomatoes are surprisingly impactful
By the way,The appearance of the cheese snack is a bit too close to one of the dessert. :)“

We had a cheese pizza with mushrooms and mozzarella sticks (the best I’ve had).
Vegetarian options: Cheese pizza
Kid-friendliness: Took my 6 month old with a car seat. If you reserve early or call ahead, they will find a good spot to accommodate and put the stroller on the back storage for you.“

“Love this restaurant on Ossington, especially in the summer on their patio. The food is delicious, fresh and colourful. The menu changes every once in a while but the breakfast sandwich is great, worth every penny. I also had their veggie sandwich which I don’t think is on the menu anymore but it was perfect, I hope they bring it back They make nice classic cocktails and have a good selection of wines. It’s not pretentious like some of the other restaurants on the strip.“

“Service was great . Food was ok. My husband ordered a steak and it was very chewy. My chicken dish was great. By the glass menu was not good. Only choice of 4 wines . And wine they offered was 3.8 rating. To order a bottle for one person does not make sense as one of us does not drink ... Over all it was good experience.“

The staff were incredible such a fun atmosphere from perfect lighting to great music we even got a mini performance as the staff were sininging with the customers!
10/10 would recommend!
Also the prices were so reasonable incredible food without breaking the wallet!

“Mercantino is an excellent bottle shop with great variety, also doubling as a spot to sit and grab a drink. The snacks are basic but just what you need with a glass of wine. I love stopping by here to catch up with a friend. It’s quiet, great service, and great wines. #SweepstakesEntry #“

“Cozy, tasteful decor with incredible food made with quality ingredients, and knowledgeable, friendly staff. They have a big wood oven that makes their pizza and pork dish incredible! Sit at the kitchen bar and see for yourself! Mussels were also lovely, and they have a good wine list. Looking forward to trying other dishes. Highly recommend this place!“

“I enjoyed drip coffee comes with a coffee server, which tastes rich and fruity. This quiet and peaceful atmosphere is perfect for spending me time.
If you want drip coffee, a coffee server will serve it to you. If you ask for large, it will fill up 2 cups of server memory. Some people may not like the strong fruity sourness, but I find it delicious in the recent rainy and gloomy weather in Toronto. It's a quiet cafe, so it's recommended for spending some time by yourself.“

“It was very good, our server Daniel i think was his name was amazing. Very attentive and caring. The cheesecake was my favourite. The mains were good too. I think the price point at what they advertise the food it can be better? The dessert is phenomenal but the mains and apps can be worked on? There was nothing wrong or bad about any of the dish, but after a certain price point i would expect something more, like an experience if that makes sense. I think the restaurant has a lot of potential and the location plays a very big part of it. I think food can be improved and the industry night which is on Tuesday gives a very good value. Wine list is also decent, i would recommend anyone to visit this restaurant for like a date or a business client meetings on Tuesdays.“

“My friends and I were in Toronto for a fundraising event, and decided to get dinner at Gully. All four of us agreed that the food was delicious! I had the butter chicken and I got a mocktini. Both were great and the butter chicken was immensely flavorful.
We were very happy with the service as well. We wanted to try the Indian Street Corn appetizer, and were initially told that it was a seasonal item and it was unfortunately no longer available. However, the owner came over after and told us he had just gone to a market and found fresh corn! We knew after that appetizer that the rest of the meal was going to be great. There’s a reason it’s one of their most popular dishes.
I would recommend making a reservation. We reserved a time for Saturday night and overheard them telling other customers that they were booked for the night. This restaurant is well worth a visit!“

“I have been coming to scaddabush a lot lately because their avocado bruschetta bread is amazing. although my advice is don’t come around 10pm. i get its the end of the night and everyone that works wants to go home.. but please keep in mind people are paying for your food and service. my pasta noodles were chewy and undercooked causing me to not eat my meal. after a good $100 spent, i wasn’t satisfied.
as well as my avocado bruschetta had huge chunks of garlic on it, which i never got before.
other than that, food is good. just go earlier in the day.“

“We had a wonderful experience at Tulia Osteria Bar The service was impeccable (thank you Andy!) and the food, amazing. We ordered the Antipasti Board to start and it was well curated and had ample portions. We followed this up a Pizzano pizza and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Very flavourful on both counts. And Pistachio gelato to finish. They are just getting started! Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!“
“Cool neighbourhood spot. 15 dollar cocktails, good menu, paper planes, negroni's, old fashions, espresso martinis, all the core ones every good cocktail bar should have. I think it's also a cafe during the day.
They had a live DJ playing some Berlin type music not too loud which was a nice touch. There is some seating space in front of the patio, and next to the building to hang out. Tall beer cans and cocktails are 7-8 bucks which is a good deal. They have some non-alcoholic beers too which is nice.
Inside has that cool vintage hipster Berlin feel to it. No cover, no lineups, just a nice local neighbourhood bar near the bridge and a bunch of other autoshops. Was walking back from an art gallery and we just literally stumbled upon it and sat down for a catch up drink.
I feel like Toronto needs more places like this. Quiet neighbourhood bars with a nice selection of music, quality cocktails, not too expensive, no lines ups. Nice slightly mature place for people to catch up and have a drink without having to venture heavily into the Dundas West bar scene where it's way more hectic. Probably fits like 20 people so it's nice and intimate. Kind of reminds me of some of the bottle shops in Montreal where you can either drink it there and vibe or take it to the park right next to it. Place has some character to it. Would like to see it have a good solid run in Toronto's independent bar scene and be supported by the neighbourhood.
Next time I'm back I'll try out the cocktail menu and see if that's fire too. Can selection was interesting. I got a fruit punch vodka seltzer with 2 grams of sugar which was good. LBGTQ+ friendly but open to anybody really. Still has that cool Dundas West OG grunge premium dive bar feel all the hipsters like me enjoy. Keep up the great work Tommy!“

“The place is super charming, and I was particularly impressed by the cups they use to serve their coffee. It’s clear they pay attention to those little details. They serve coffee from Subtext Coffee, which, in my opinion, is one of the best you can find in Toronto.
On the downside, the café is quite small, and what’s really frustrating is that they allow people to work on their laptops. Because of this, I couldn’t find a seat. I feel the owners should consider restricting laptop use, as a café should be a place to enjoy coffee and conversations, not to work.“

“Took my girl here for a new years date night. Absolutely fantastic. It was a warm inviting atmosphere, my girl loved the music, the food was incredible, from the presentation to the flavour, texture combos and portioning, everything was perfect. The Waiter, who also happens to be the owner and the chef, was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate. He was very attentive even with 4 other tables filled, everyone's food was served promptly, cutlery was replaced after each course, the wine glasses and water glasses were never empty and I cannot stress this enough, it is incredible that he does food prep, kitchen management, reservations, serving and everything that comes with owning a restaurant by himself, with such unwavering excellence. I would also like to give a shout out to the 2 kitchen staff who keep all these amazing dishes coming so quickly. I left after dinner to take my girl to a movie and very quickly fell asleep from a food coma in the theatre, it was a great night. I made sure to tip $50 in appreciation for the dining experience he has created and I will be coming back again regularly for date nights. THANK YOU.“

“This has been a go to special occasion meal for me for years. I can’t say I’ve ever had one disappointing dish. Everything sings with flavour - bright acidity, rich fat, balanced sweetness. Just A+ to the kitchen! This time we enjoyed oysters, a crudo I can’t recall the name of, beef tartare, and the chicken. The raw dishes here are some of my favourites and I have to say the tartare was my favourite I’ve ever had. Not the typical flavour profile instead a mix of acidic dressing and possibly beef fat mayo? Soooo good. The chicken is not something I’d typically order but it was recommended on their Insta and did not disappoint. Perfectly tender, shatteringly crispy skin, umami sauce, and the best sweet creamed corn I’ve ever had. Shout of to the gai lan as well. So good.
The service is always a big part of the experience here. We felt so looked after and I was even surprised with a scoop of apple sorbet with a candle since we didn’t order dessert (it was my bday). Just above and beyond and left feeling like I was walking on a cloud. 😌“
