“Been coming to Iron Chef for years now. Very unassuming and family run local favorite for Dim Sum, however I have been recently coming for some of the larger format dishes. This go around was Szechuan Beef, BBQ Pork LoMein and lemon chicken. Lemon chicken crispy outside and tender meat with a thick lemon sauce (the best kind). Not too sweet but a good balance with the crispy outside. The Lo Mein noodles tender with nice slices of bbq pork and perfectly cooked broccoli. The Szechuan beef nice and tender with ample amounts of mushroom and peppers with just enough kick, however get a side of their house chili sauce and you’ll thank me later.

Overall it’s always a solid meal and service is definitely prompt and friendly, especially when you get to know the family a bit more. While takeout is their forte, it’s nice just to sit and eat the dishes fresh out of the kitchen.“

“South China has always been our go-to Chinese takeout choice for Cantonese-style food. Growing up in Markham certainly sets the bar for Chinese food very high, and ever since discovering South China nearly a decade ago I have never had to leave a homesick craving for crispy fried Cantonese chow mein unsatisfied ❤ (seriously, ask for the crispy noodle). Other standout dishes include the sweet and sour pork (brings me back to some of the more upscale Chinese restaurants back in the day in terms of texture and quality--no mushy battered gristle here!), stir fried beef rice noodle, beef with black bean sauce rice noodle (which was taken off the menu at some point but I still order it and they still make it perfect for us!), Shanghai noodle, Singapore style vermicelli, and the egg sauce rice noodle with shrimp. Yang chow fried rice is a must. Thank you South China for being a taste of my childhood family dinners here in Hamilton!!“

“Service & atmosphere I can’t speak on because I got takeout & the interior of the restaurant isn’t for dining in, but food was made on time for my pick up.

As for the food, overall pretty good.
General & Orange good portions & flavour with a bit of kick on the general
Breaded id really recommend a sauce like the sweet and sour with it
Mixed Lacked variety of good vegetables had a lot of onion but seasoned well
really good in taste & portion. Pro Tip ask for a side of gravy and put it on top of your noodles

Nothing that will blow your socks off but just a really solid Chinese spot that will satisfy your craving & deliver on its fair price point.“

“We expected a party of approx 20 people on Jan 24/26 but due to the weather we had 3 people that flew out early from Pearson to Logan Airport and around 4 went home immediaely after the 'due' because they were from out of town. That left 13 of us. Since we had reserved, we still had a round table for 13 in the back of the restaurant. We decided to go with a family style format and actually ordered way too much food. The portions were large and tasty, from the egg rolls + spring rolls to a variety of dishes that satisfied everyone. We were extremely well looked after despite the restaurant getting busier. We were happy to see other parties in and out as January is very slow in the restaurant business. I dealt with someone on 3 occasions before we arrived and he assured me he woud make our dinner worth while. And he did. We ended up with one extra at the table designated for a comfortable 12 and that was okay. We also had our beloved SIL in a wheelchair to boot. We thought that would not be possible when we were expecting 20. Needles to say, we were not rushed, our food was excellent, we had good conversation around a round table and to add,.....it was a great experience. If ANYTHING, the room we were in could actual benefit from adding material or whatever on the walls, ceiling in order to cut way back on the noise. The table for 12 was far better than having 13 seated in a long table but noise barriers would help 100%. “My favourite Chinese takeout in the city. Best spot to call when in the mood for some Americanized Chinese food. Their prices are amazing for the portions, and they offer lots of options in their combos. My go to is the General Tso and Chicken Balls, both are always crispy and never greasy, like other Chinese places. Overall I highly recommend calling ahead of time because they are always busy, which goes to show how good it is. Definitely give this place a try!“

“I used to order from their other location on the corner of Main St. and Kenilworth, before the store closed. While it might not be the absolute best Chinese food out there, it is a solid, enjoyable meal. For the price you pay, you get a good sized portion of food.“

“Pays Homage to the OG Le Chinois downtown Hamilton with the flavours the Stand out is the Crispy Orange beef. I recall having this years ago in Hamilton and Burlington sit down restaurants. But happy to make the trek up near Limeridge to get my hands on this stuff. So crispy. Flavours bursting and enough zip to make your mouth a little spicy. Just wish they’d sprinkle some orange zest and add an organ slice or 2 to fancy it up. However well worth the visit alone. Owner is super friendly and funny. Always smiling no matter how busy he is. “We had the Saozi Beef noodles, the Beijing dumplings and Braised Chicken on Rice. The food was really flavourful and delicious with a homemade quality. The beef noodles dish is on the spicier side so if you have a low spice tolerance order with caution. The atmosphere accompanied the homemade quality of food with a home like environment. Our server was very kind, water is self serve which worked really well for us. The tip is included in your meal cost but very well deserved.“

“My wife and I were regular customers of their restaurant from the late 1980's to the early 2000's. We have always enjoyed their food . We occasionally get takeout from them and still enjoy their great food . They still have a great menu and great specials.“

“I like the food; but when I want something after work .. its closed. Really wish they'd stay open later on weekends like 1am; 10:30pm is quite early to close on a friday and Saturday night.

Please consider extending hours for weekends.“

Hands down the best , we even substituted for a different dish , the food was ready when I get there , we ordered the dinner for 4 and we have leftovers, we found our new Chinese restaurant. I wish I could give them a 10 star.“

“On this day 07/23/2025 about 4:00 P.M. we were at Cente Mall, dropped into the Food Court, we were both a bit hungry, wife got the consommé soup (it was piping hot and a nice tasty broth), I on the other hand went with the rice or chow Mein with (1) item for $11.59 + HST. I got the Sesame Chicken with the Chow Mein combined together. It was just plain Chow Mein, and Sesame Chicken was nicely batter with a sweet taste to the sauce that covered it. The food was tasty, but only thing preventing it giving it a 5 star rating, although the food looks heated and hot in their containers (stainless steel), the food was at best a tad warm? If this food was served hot, I would rate it higher. Nice friendly service on board, cheerfully serving the customers on their requests. Plenty of food served, I’ll have enough to take home and heat it up, to my expectations.“

“Ok let me start by saying my family had gone to one and only one Chinese food establishment for the last 25yrs. They sadly closed this year so we had to search for a new place and I can officially say we have found our new FAVORITE spot!!!

The service (I ordered pickup) was very professional and pleasant.
When I arrived to pick up food, had a nice conversation while I waited and it was just an overall great first experience.

The food was fantastic! Everything we ordered had great taste and the portions were good as well.
