“I rarely give really positive reviews but this is an exception. This is an excellent restaurant without qualification. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The service was polite, friendly and fast. The decor is attractive, intelligent and works. This is a place I intend to return to.“

“Best Chinese food in KW (I'm Chinese)! Everything has 'wok hei' and their sweet and sour ribs is not overly sweet and has the perfect balance of tangy to sweet ratio like Cantonese sweet and sour pork! My favourite is the flat rice noodles with beef (gon chau ngao ho), so much wok hei! They are also super friendly and nice as well! Thank you for such a delicious meal, I'll be back! 😊“

“I love Chinese food, but lately, it’s been increasingly difficult to find a great restaurant—especially for fast food. A friend recommended this place for lunch, and I have to say, it’s the best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. The highlight? The chicken balls. They’re not just 99% breading with a tiny piece of chicken inside. These are real, flavorful chicken balls that practically melt in your mouth.“

“First time ordering here, which is surprising since it’s so close to home. Food was great and price was fair. It was ready on time for pickup. No complaints, the amount of food was good value. Let’s all keep supporting our UpTown businesses!“

“Great food and outstanding hospitality!
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, made the six of us (one toddler, one 6 weeks old baby, 2 adults, 2 seniors) feel welcome and taken care of, and we were able to enjoy our food which can be quite challenging sometime to dine out with young children. Will definitely be back again!“

“We know the owner and one of the chefs very well since we come a lot. The dishes are quite authentic Sichuan style and pretty much similar with what you can really find in China. If you love spicy/hot dishes, this is you go-to place in Waterloo. Prices are also reasonable.“

“NO WIFI. VERY GOOD AYCE PLACE! Pick 2 broths then go to the fridge and pick all the skewers and plates you can eat and cook it in the broth. One drink comes with the meal and water. Bathrooms are clean. Parking behind the building is free. Pay cash and save 5%. Make your own dipping sauce. Very small tables and chairs but more than enough. Party of 3 came to around $120 with taxes and tip so around $40 each. Would recommend and go again to eat.“
“A wholesome family run, stereotypical hole-in-the wall place (Idk even if I should call it a restaurant) and there’s no english to read but the food is good I got the fried chicken and rice was juicy and crispy, funny I couldnt even order because they don’t speak Engish so I just pointed at the menu. If you like Chinese food for takeout and open minded just send it.“

“Did take-out, got there in 30 minutes and was already ready. Got the chicken lo mein, shrimp fried rice, chicken with broccoli, chicken balls, and egg rolls. All pretty good, what you expect from Chinese food and at good prices. Would order again.“

“Dumplings were amazing. Ordered the leek and pork dumpling, the pan fried pork dumpling and pork ball wrapped in cabbage or lettuce. All of the dishes were delicious, service was great and friendly. Incredibly affordable for such great food. And all hand rolled dumplings. Can’t recommend enough.“

“It’s pretty good to come for a quick lunch, glad they give you endless refill for noodles!
The service is also pretty good, they always come and ask if you need your water refilled! Very clean inside and they have QR scans for menu that you can order from!“

“Delicious, properly spicy broth with a variety of toppings. While the food was tasty, many of the toppings were mislabelled, some were frozen, and some seemed less than fresh. I wouldn’t mind this if it was cheaper but for the price offered, the wuality could be a little higher“
“Service was a little slow and staff didn't understand english but that didn't become a problem until it came to splitting the bill (ordering was done by writing menu numbers on a piece of paper). I got the YuanYang fried rice and it was very very good.“
“Even though this store is Chinese food and they understand bits of English the owner is super nice yesterday i was asking about chicken wings then I only ordered a burger combo which i usually get from here the owner packed both the things n was about to charge for both when i said i just asked for wings i don’t want to buy it he charged me for combo n gave me chicken wings for free such great people.“

“The grandma who works here is so incredibly kind. I don't speak Chinese but she made sure to come by and gesture how to eat things correctly and was really sweet the whole time. They offer a free refill of juice and the service was amazing. The guy working here also came immideatly to give his personal recommendations. If you're done your rice they also offer free extra rice and the portions are already pretty good.“

“Yang's is a place I frequently visit with friends. I like the braised beef and rice and tomato base rice noodle. They only give a few pieces of pepper with the braised beef, so it is lacking some vegetables, but the braised beef and shiitake mushrooms are quite flavourful. The unlimited, crossing the bridge rice noodle refill is always nice, especially when you're hungry, and it's great for the price. The normal rice noodle doesn't have refills, but the portion is large, and it comes with more content. The service is quick, but they only take cash or debit. You can also get a $20 membership for 10% every time at all locations for life!“

“It's rare to pass by when you get to Waterloo.
Oh my god, the smell makes me cry.
Nowadays, Lanzhou Ramen in Toronto all has the same flavor. Just like domestic chain stores, the taste is too refined. This shop tastes like the local food I ate at a small shop near Nanjing’s Daxing Palace ten years ago. Whether it's soup, noodles or meat, they all taste authentic.
There seems to be a box lunch option at noon?. The dishes look very rich, but I didn’t have a chance to try them this time.
The only drawback is that there are not two slices of white radish. But there is a braised egg.“

“Mala tong, I miss you very much:') I have been looking for the right mala spicy and numb taste for so long, and I've finally found you!! I would say, if it wasn't because it is in a popular location, with the Chinese wordings in front, I wouldn't have discovered this place has what I have been looking for, so I hope they change the English name into something that is searchable for those who is also looking for the mala soup!
You basically pick your own food choices, soup base, those in a stick are meant to be bbq, and the price is very good! Right when the bowls arrived, I already can smell that's the right taste! So touched ??
I think the store is well kept, especially given that they handle a lot of oil and spice, just think it would be nice to provide spoons but it's okay, as the soup is not meant to be drunk. I took home with the remaining soup (I brought my own containers), and will come back for more!!“

“probably some of the best value food in the plaza $10 special for large portions. it’s americanized chinese food, it’s not necessarily “authentic” if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s a different type of cuisine. either way as a student this is a great deal“

“A very nice stewed tomato beef with rice, very delicious. The boss is good, and always sells 2-3 dollar cheaper dishes compared to other restaurants nearby. And the close time is late, pretty convenient for students in university if they study late and need some meal.
The tomato beef brisket rice bowl is delicious. The boss is very nice and has long-term sales discounts or low prices. On average, it is 2-3 Canadian dollars cheaper than nearby restaurants. The closing time is also very late, which is convenient for school students, who often study late and need to eat.“
