“Authentic, delicious, reasonably priced Jamaican food! I ordered jerk chicken and ackee and salt fish dinners last night for the first time from Fay’s and can confirm I enjoyed real yaadi food that made me feel great afterwards. Highly recommended by my daughter and I!“
“This place is a hidden gem. The location might be isolated but the quality of food will leave remarkable impressions to come back for more.My favorite order is the Oxtail. It's perfectly cooked; with meat falling off the bones partnered with a side of sauteed carrots that complement each other. ?“
“The best Caribbean food I’ve found in Toronto and definitely the area. We love their jerk chicken (with rice and peas or the potatoes) and ox tail, especially the ox tail pasta. Incredible place, friendly people. I recommend ordering in advance to cut down on wait time.“
“Admittedly, my wife and I aren’t that familiar with Caribbean cuisine, but Orlando welcomed us with open arms. The “Jerk Chicken” was insanely good! Flavour exploding with a hint of heat and delicate smoky undertone. My wife had the “Braised Oxtail” that vanished in mere minutes. We will be back for sure!“
“Went here for the first time two weeks ago. It’s small but cozy. It’s a place you visit to chill out have dinner and drinks and listen to the resident Dj on site who was playing some very good tunes. The service and food were excellent. Our waitress was very attentive constantly checking up on us which was great. We had the oxtail which I highly recommend it was succulent and so very tender. They offer you a free soup to start and I had the chicken and my friend had the fish and I must say both were very tasty. We will return. The only drawback is the construction being done in the area as it makes for a very confusing drive along Finch with all the pylons dotted along the roads. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will be back.“
“When I find Caribbean Style restaurants that interest me I generally order the same items all at once to gauge how good the restaurant is to see if it's worth coming back in case I didn't like a particular item. I ordered Curry Goat, Curry Chicken, Curry Shrimp all with white rice and to round off the order half a chickens worth of Jerk chicken. The staff were super friendly and OCHA (the chef) was super enthusiastic about his cooking and even offered me samples of his rice and peas and showed me the real coconuts that he splits open to flavour his rice. The Curry Goat was very tender and obvious care was taken to remove cartilage and undesirable parts of the meat because I didn't get one "bad" piece which is pretty shocking in its own right compared to all the other restaurants. The Curry Shrimp is a favorite order of my wife's and the pieces of shrimp were large and plentiful. The Curry chicken was very good, I have to say though I didnt eat much of it as I was already super full from the goat at this point but the flavors were spot on and not spicy. The Jerk chicken was flavoured very well and wasn't spicy so my two year old age most of it along with the delicious pasta salad. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Caribbean food that isn't spicy and will 100% be going back.“
“Great experience and friendly service to suit your needs I appreciated the effort they placed into satisfying my needs even thou what I wanted wasn’t on the menu that was commendable I would definitely have lunch here again oh… and did I mention that the food was great ?Vegetarian options: Delicious ? when food reminds you of home you know it’s great loved it“
“The food speaks so many languages, the flavours, the well done meals, every time I go to buy food I get treated so well and the food is 100x even more better/ I’m so happy I found this place! Jerk chicken is one of the best in the city if you ask me!!!!“
“This restaurant has been around for more than 20+ yrs & the taste of the food remains consistent. My favorites are the Curry Goat (best in Toronto!), I also love their Oxtail-its so soft & tender with a rich gravy. The staff is very nice & service is pretty quick so you are in & out in no time. This is my go to Jamaican spot for the authentic tasting food, tourists & visitors to Toronto should put this restaurant on their bucket list of must trys when visiting the city!“
“The food is delicious. They serve a variety of soups, and their jerk chicken and fried chicken are nicely done. The oxtail falls right off the bone, and the curried goat has just the right amount of spice. If you're craving a taste of the Caribbean, this is the place to go.“
“Always use to eat here ! my fiance and i will get this food for his lunch when we do not cook , however the food had become so salty!!! definitely check your pressure after eating a meal here ! some of the staff is nice people ! but the wait is ridiculous!“
“Off of the 400 by Jane and finch in an industrial neighborhood.Small variety of carribean groceries. Can buy drinks by the case, frozen patties by the box, and frozen oxtail by the pound. The patties are approx $2 and $3.25 with coco bread. It is cheaper to buy a box of a dozen patties.I ordered the spicy beef patty and coco bread with a package of soft spicy tamarind balls. The patty and coco bread were hot, fresh, and delicious. The tamarind balls are mild.Must visit this spot if you are in the neighborhood ?Vegetarian options: Veggie pattie and some snack foods.“
“Great value!Great portions.Great food.I ordered on Door Dash.Small curry goat with white rice, side of steam veg, 1/2 pound of bbq chicken. If there was ever a combo to make for yourself, it’s that. The delivery driver may have been a little careless because I had some BBQ juices over the bag, but the food itself, amazing!I’d highly recommend.“
“Title: A Taste of the Tropics!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Just had an amazing meal at Tropical Island Caribbean Restaurant! It truly felt like a mini-vacation. The food was top-notch – the jerk chicken had the perfect kick, and those plantains were heavenly. The staff were so friendly and made the whole experience even better. If you're in the mood for authentic Caribbean flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to go!“
