They play Caribbean gospel music and the place is clean (which is hard to find again) and soft spoken lady with good Customer service. Loved it. “I randomly stumbled into this hidden gem of a Jamaican restaurant in Mississauga today, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by Hopeton himself, which made the experience feel instantly personal and welcoming.

I ordered the oxtail, and honestly—it was some of the best I’ve ever had. And that’s saying a lot, because I’ve travelled to Jamaica many times. The flavour was rich, authentic, and perfectly cooked.

What really surprised me was the portion size and the price. In today’s day and age, getting such a generous serving for such a low cost is almost unheard of.

If you ever get the chance, definitely stop by Hopeton’s restaurant and show him some support. It’s absolutely worth the trip.“

Yes, the oxtail had a lot of bones, but I prefer that over overly fatty, cloying pieces, and the flavour was excellent. The fried chicken was perfection—not too breaded or over-seasoned.
There were about six customers ahead of me, and I still got my food in under 10 minutes. Easily one of the best spots in the city.“

“I went in twice today. I went to inquire about some cocktail patties. I was kind of overlooked the first time but to be fair I was a little aimless. The lady that spoke to me the first time was very knowledgeable and I appreciate her information and suggestions. I came back later and purchased my items. They no longer make cocktail patties. I haven't had these patties in awhile, although they're my long time favorite. They tasted a little different from the ones I sometimes get from my local bakery. I was pleasantly surprised to find there was a good amount of filling. They have a good variety of patties overall. Lots of people were coming in throughout the time I was there. I would highly recommend.“

“Stopped in to satisfy a fried chicken craving. Ended up getting a fired chicken and jerk chicken half n half combo on beans and rice. Serving was good size for $22. The chicken was lovely and moist with great flavours. They added a sweet kind of plum sauce with the fried chicken. Haven't seen that before but loved it! Gave me a side of coleslaw also and it was so creamy. Not watery lettuce like you get in a lot of places. All in all. Top marks 👌“

“Jonny the waiter was not only attentive, but also so catering to the needs of our group. He made sure our drinks were always topped up during the live band also while caring for a full out door patio. Matty in the back who carried out my steak did an incredible job not only was it cooked to satisfactory but it was above and beyond what my expectations were I had the best experience I could have asked for and would recommend to anyone i possibly could.

“If you have never been to Mysore/Bangalore in Karnataka, India, then don't worry, you can experience the same taste at Mysore Darshini. It is a small eatery, very simple decor. They have both veg and non-veg options to choose from. Their medu vadas are a class on its own. My favourite are the dosas which are cooked to perfection. My kids love the mutton dishes which are very flavourful. We have tried many items and each dish tastes amazing. Shailendra is the owner and chef and takes pride in his dishes. Each item is brought to the table piping hot. We can't wait for our next visit once the lockdowns are lifted. Shailendra definitely makes us feel at home.“

“Food here was AMAZING! Due to covid this was an Uber Eats order but you would never know it was delivery. The food was hot and fresh! The jerk chicken was moist and full of flavor. You could taste the spices from the skin down to the meat. Bone included! The plantains were soft, sweet, juicy and when you bit into it, the flavor just exploded in your mouth!
