“Guys, it is the best restaurant in Toronto in terms of food quality.. but the place is shameful.. and it is not suitable for families.. the restaurant has a very old system and service.. it has nothing to do with technology and the modern style of restaurants.. but in terms of food quality and price it is the best without a competitor..“

“The food here is amazing. I've never had issues with quality or quantity. However, the lighting in the restaurant could be better. I understand that the intention might be to create a relaxing environment, but I think it could be a little brighter. If you're not dining in, it won't be an issue, though.
Parking: Parking is sufficient.“

“I cater Mushkaki for majority of my events and it is always on point and the portions are large. The beef strips with Rose pasta is a guest favourite! My recent order was the new 'viral' Mushkaki grill chicken which was in it's entirety delicious. The chicken was moist and fell of the bone, and the grill taste was amazing! Shout out to Mushkaki for always pleasing our guest with their delicious food!“

“We ordered the chicken, goat, plantains and jollof rice. Great meal, my favourite is the chicken. The plantains were not bad, I just prefer them more ripe. The rice was slightly drier than expected, but the goat had a lot of meat and not too much bones, which I honestly appreciate.
Service could be faster, but they were really nice.
Would definitely come back, this restaurant is a must-try!“

“I’ve been here before multiple times and when I say this place owes me
nothing. I just celebrated my birthday here and me and my party had an amazing time. The music was great, the vibes were through the roof, the service was amazing and the FOOD!!! CHEF’s KISS oh my!! (I promise this isn’t a fake review) but yea that Alfredo and suya really did something to meee. The samosa was very well seasoned and the perfect amount of flaky, the drinks very well mixed and the staff is very attentive and kind. Thank you again for having me and you’ll be seeing me soon!!!“

“Stopped by Afro Continental Ghanaian Restaurant for dinner with a friend and really enjoyed the food. I had the waakye and goat suya; both were delicious and well-seasoned. The prices were quite affordable and definitely competitive compared to other similar spots in the area.
My friend got the jollof rice with meat and she enjoyed her dish as well.
As for the service…it’s about what you’d expect from a typical African restaurant. Nothing extraordinary, but it got the job done. At the end of the day, the food made it worth it. We’d definitely come back but only for takeout.“

“I'm a Caribbean girl, I can't remember if I've ever had Nigerian food. However, I kept seeing pepper soup on my Pinterest and as an avid Nigerian movie fan I was motivated to try it. I had no clue what to expect but It looked so good online I had to find it . I searched a Nigerian restaurant near me and found this hidden gem and guess what ? They had pepper soup with assorted meat. Anyways I ordered some pepper soup and let me tell you that I am in loveeeeeeeeee!! Don't get me wrong it's so spicy and I couldn't finish it in a day but I loved every bit of it. I haven't tried the other dishes but I'll recommend the pepper soup over and over again.“

“The food was so good that I had to j hold myself back from eating more so I could share it with my folks after. They gave me more soup so that my folks could get the real experience. They're was another family there who had two kids. They put on kids shows so that they could be entertained and also held their baby while they ate and chatted. Would definitely recommend. The place is along the sorry end of the building plaza and has limited seating but 100% worth it.“

“I don't know the first thing about Ethiopian food, but my wife likes it and enjoyed this. The server - who I think might be the owner - was fantastic, very friendly. The restaurant was well maintained (that used to be a given at restaurants, much less so these days), clean, and had a very family friendly vibe.
Will definitely go again!“

“This was my first time trying this type of food, and I will start off by saying that I will be going back here as much as possible! The food was absolutely delicious.Everyone who was working there was extremely kind and welcoming to my friend and myself. We each tried a bit of everything on the menu, and we had no complaints at all. We were amazed at how good it was. The chef even came out to say hi to us as we were leaving, which we found to be very nice! We were also shocked at the low prices for such high-quality fresh and home-cooked food. Thank you to everyone at Le Plato, we will be back!“

“After hiking and photographing from west of High Park to Dundas Square (with a number of detours and stops along the way), I needed refreshment. The problem was: who is open at 10:50pm at night? Piassa Injera (ፒያሳ እንጀራ ቅመማ ቅመም እና ቁርስ ቤት) was.
It was a great relief to find the door open, and cool bottles of water in the fridge at that hour. I loved the late night atmosphere inside the shop. There were a number of people around a table near the back having a good time, talking, laughing. This was like the old country where my family is from.
The shopkeeper helped me with my Amharic language skills, and then I was off to complete my task of photographing the neighbourhoods of Parliament Street. አመሰግናለሁ (I got the pronunciation now).“

“This was my first time trying Nigerian cuisine and I was blown away by the delicious food! Service was super friendly and accommodating as well. We started with the chicken wings tossed in hot honey with yaaji spice (ginger peanut bbq rub) -super crisp and juicy! We ordered spicy which was the perfect balance of heat and flavor. My favorite dish was the egusi and greens! My Nigerian friend ordered the pounded yam for me to eat the soup with. It’s like a thicker mashed potato, fresh and an excellent compliment to the savory soup! The soup was chock full of chicken and seasonings I couldn’t quite place, bold and savory flavor! We also ordered the cauliflower in a peanut sauce-perfectly fried and great to eat with the wings! My partner ordered the party jollof rice-delicious almost barbaque flavored rice layered with flavors of a seafood and sweet spice stock 😋 And the slow and plantains were the perfect accompaniments! I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for delicious food with lots of heart poured into it.“

“Growing up in the neighbourhood to the east of here, Moore Park, I was starving for anything interesting and authentic. I felt I grew up in the whitest and most sterile place in the universe and even wrote songs and traveled the world singing about how boring Canada is and how brainwashed the culture is. My neighbourhood was filled with boring white people and that's all and I went to live in Serbia and then Thailand to get the spice of life. On a short visit to visit my beloved family in Toronto, I was going home on Saturday night (23.06.2024) at 1AM and I noticed Maison Tribe. It was popping with Latino and African music. I went in and I felt welcome, even though I was the only white person there. I danced for a while and it was super fun. The opposite of the boring place I thought I was from. Thank you Maison Tribe.“

“I took a quick trip to Oyato African food market to bulk up on African black soap, on my way out I seen ola there door advertised fresh restaurant and catered food. I went in and was greeted by two sweet elders aunty & auncle and they gently gave me the menu I seen all the great tasty fire dishes but I had to keep it humble with my diabetes. So I just ordered the cheapest thing on the menu mashed beans . They looked at me like that’s it! I laughed like “yeah I have my green banana at home to Dip” ! They were like okay I waited no more than 10 minutes cause it’s a pretty simple dish.some nice west African gospel was playing on the flatscreen I would say I got a nice homey vibes were your welcomed to eat ! And that’s what I love comfortable and calm I kindly asked the chef if she could add a water and ginger ale to my meal. And it came up to $15.00 they only had visa debit at the moment not credit card.Id say it’s worth the price I even had left overs for a day which I liked cause it tasted alot better. I recommend sitting in if you’re used to traditional settings and need a good quick tasty meal or ordering take out or delivery.“

We tried the Fu-Fuo(potato dumpling),Jollof Rice(chicken&egg) served with mixed spinach.
Owner was very friendly and the spice was just right and still have left overs for today.
We are happy we tried this place. Next time fish dish“

“The food here is excellent. The ribs, mushkaki and mogo are yummy.
The ordering and service needs work though.
There is no clear menu for ordering over the phone it is just pictures on fb or old prices on google maps.
The person on the phone does not repeat back the order leading to mistakes.
They need to give prices as well as a final total for phone orders.
Love the restaurant and we will keep coming back but they really need to figure out a better ordering system.“
