“We recently ordered from York Burger for a family gathering of 6 people, and overall it was an excellent experience from start to finish.

We tried their pizza and chicken wings, and both were outstanding in terms of taste, freshness, and portion size. The food came in generous quantities—honestly, more than enough for our family. Even with six people sharing, we still couldn’t finish everything, which really shows how well they serve their portions.

The pizza was delicious with a good balance of toppings, cheese, and crust. It tasted fresh and well-prepared, not heavy or overly oily. The chicken wings were also very impressive—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. Everything felt high quality and well cooked.

What made the experience even better was how happy the kids were. The little ones especially enjoyed the food and were very excited throughout the meal, which made the whole family gathering even more enjoyable.

A special mention goes to Faisal, who hosted us. His hospitality was very good and added a nice personal touch to the experience. It really felt welcoming and well taken care of.

Overall, York Burger delivered great taste, excellent quantity, and a satisfying experience for the whole family. We would definitely consider ordering again and recommending it to others looking for good quality, filling, and tasty food.“

“Lovely restaurant with great food and good customer service. We were seated in the patio which was very nice and had air conditioning. Food came out piping hot and was tasty. Staff regularly checked in on us which was great.

Only criticism was that we found a bug in the vinegar. Once pointed out to staff, it was addressed promptly, but still dampened our experience.“

“Not sure what happen this is my go to place Tonight the fries and fish all tasted the same with a bad after taste Im not even sure I got halibut the roll was tough stale the only thing the same was the coleslaw slaw I usually have a hard time finishing an order tonight was kid size I will give it one more try out of loyalty. “Had our anniversary dinner there on a Saturday night. We both ordered the halibut and fries with coleslaw on the side. The fish was Lightly battered and crispy. The fries were nicely done and not too oily. It went well with the homemade tartar sauce. It was very quiet with only another couple have dinner. The restaurant has not changed and is still run by the same family. We will definitely come back.“

“Beautiful Breakfast restaurant. Such a hidden gem, packed all weekends. So affordable and cheap and huge portions with good quality food. I been here twice already and my partner love it, have bottomless coffee. I always order the steak breakfast, so cheap and good. The service is always amazing and give you really good vibes. I used to visit thru the years whenever I was nearby my father and friends always loved the food and friendly atmosphere.
Highly recommend, I now live 2 hrs North and honestly can say still the best Halibut and chips in the province.

“Oh my goodness!! If I could give more stars I would. The Haddock was absolutely delicious! It was so fresh and piping hot. The fish was cooked perfectly. The French fries were also piping hot. The gravy was good. It would have been nice to serve such delicious fish with homemade Tatar Sauce but it was not. Just packets. I think my head would have blown off had it been homemade. That’s how delicious it was. Regardless of packaged Tatar Sauce, it was still over the top- good to eat.“

“This was my second visit to Gil’s Fish & Chipperie at the Eaton Centre. I came on Thursday afternoon at 3.30pm. I ordered the half portion of fish and chips, and once again it didn’t disappoint.

The fish was crispy outside and flaky inside, with hot, well-seasoned fries — a satisfying portion that felt just right. I also want to give a shout-out to the cashier girl, who was friendly and welcoming, making the quick stop even more pleasant.

“2026 April - The food here is very hot and good. The waitresses are very casual and friendly. The restaurant is run down so don't eat-in if that bothers you.

Check your take-out bags before you leave. I ordered fish and fries and gravy to go. I was very disappointed when many hours later I cracked the bag only to find zero gravy. DISAPPOINTED ‼️

“I consistently have a good experience buying the fish (cod) and chips here. The shrimp tacos are also good though I found buying three shrimp tacos in a row is a bit much and I wish we could mix and match.

Sometimes the fries are a bit tough but overall solid safe food for the days I want something good and easy.

Service is quick and straightforward. I have not had issues with rudeness and even when they are busy I have not been made to feel like I am bothering them.“

“Was there on Saturday for lunch. I got the cod and it didn’t disappoint. The fish and the batter were flavorful and the fish was moist. The batter felt very light and not greasy. I usually take the halibut (which is always great) but this time I decided to go with the cod. It was a very nice compromise for quality/price. The fries were excellent. Although there is no table service, the staff was extremely friendly in our interactions.
I’ve been going for years and I will continue going there. I highly recommend it.
