“Micheal and assume his wife run this family joint. They treat everyone like family. Ordered 4 chicken salad and souvlaki dinners and what a good job on food. The picture of the water is symbol of their heart. I forgot to ask for water for the kids and they give the kid a bottle and say don’t worry about it. Michael saw my kids and he brought them two bag of fries while we waited for our food.
This is not a one off act of kindness, a young guy was about to leave and they packed up some soup for him to try.
DON’T go expecting free stuff you cheapskate!!! Go because they are good folks producing quality food and it shows.
TIP well!!!“

“Follow @bredgyeats for more food pics!
Despite its name, Ravi Soups actually has a delicious curry lamb wrap that's better than their soups. Luckily, you can get a combo where you can get both so you don't have to choose, with a modest price that can easily feed two, or one of me.“

“My girlfriend and I recently visited this restaurant and had a great experience. The staff was polite and accommodating, and the service was excellent. I ordered the rare beef soup, and she initially chose the seafood soup, but later decided she wasn’t in the mood for it. The staff kindly replaced it with the same beef soup I had, which she ended up enjoying.
The shrimp roll we shared was delicious, and when it came time to pay, we were pleasantly surprised that they didn’t charge us for the returned seafood soup. I mentioned leaving a Google review, and they even offered us a complimentary juice (normally $7–9).
Overall, we enjoyed the food and service and will definitely return. Pro tip: mention a Google review, and you might score a free juice too!“
“The food was fresh and delicious. They have daily specials. I also had a very good smoothie that was made on the spot, with fresh ingredients and real fruit. The place is spotless, with the space well used, and the attention is very friendly.“

“We had the spicy pork bulgogi on a sizzling platter and seafood noodle soup and we are stuffffffffed. Also hot take but the california rolls are weirdly good. Cozy place too with a cute front room. Our server was very friendly and kind too. :)“

“Posted my original review five years ago and this place still gets 5 stars.
Cozy local restaurant with polite staff.
I really recommend the Dynamite chicken paired together with their radish side dish. There's something about the tarty radish that bring out the flavours and the crunch to the chicken.
I also enjoyed the beef bone soup really refreshing to have low sodium witg the option to add it myself.
All the best HanOak!
First review (2019):
First time here. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, like visiting family. They have specials for students and a well rounded menu. I had the Fried Chicken with hot and sour soy sauce. The chicken was crispy to perfection with sides and a cute star shaped rice.
Highly recommend and will definitely come back.“

“I bought a Small Sushi Sashimi Maki Tray for dinner. In my opinion, with such a quality tray, it is worth the price cuz the food is always fresh and the taste is great, making me want to come back to eat. I am always served with a smile by the waitress. Best sushi restaurant in town ?“

“Soup It Up has always delivered exactly what I want from it: ruthlessly efficient service and unpretentious soup and sandwiches. Nothing more. Nothing less. Looking at earlier reviews, the complaints seem to be focused on the decline in quality over time. I've only been coming to Soup It up for the last two years, but haven't noticed any decline at all in that time. The sandwiches are particularly good value. There are better lunch options in the PATH, but these ratings are largely unfair in my view. I for one will continue to proudly and shamelessly SOUP IT UP on my lunch breaks.“

“Best service, pork chops and atmosphere in the GT. Shout out to server David for a great experience every time! Funny dude. I’ve brought my family and they’ve all loved it… just try it. Special mention to Helen - she really knows what she’s doing by not allowing customers to skip us in line!“

“This is objectively the most authentic Japanese ramen place you can probably find in Toronto. Number one many of the stuffs are Japanese who speak Japanese. The ramen has the classical texture that you would find in Japan. The portion is somewhat small though.“

“Love this little spot in the corner of the food court! You can order ahead with ritual too which can save you a ton of time if you know what you’re looking for. Try to come before 1pm, as they don’t tend to replace soup options as they run out after the lunch rush. There’s no dining in the restaurant as it’s just a takeout place attached to regular food court seating.
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian soup options!“

“The place looks sketchy initially but dared to try out their food after seeing all the reviews. Glad, I did! One of the best banh mi I’ve had in my life - bread was crispy and pork belly was so tender. Would recommend to friends and family.“

“We just came back from Porta Via, amazing sandwich and wrap place. The service was quick and staff were friendly. I ordered tofu wrap, it was very filling and nicely made. Soup on the side was great to have, since I did not expect that in $14 something price :)
The wrap tasted good and tofu was cooked to right level. It was filling as tofu pieces were quite chunky.. bigger the better ?“

“Oct2024: third visit, and fond of the beef dry noodles, extra spicy and crispy pork bun. The special, marinated pork belly on rice with a braised egg is good too.
Have tried several of the side dishes and liked all of them: three delicacies in tofu, tofu with preserved egg, kelp salad, wood fungus salad, spicy beef tripe, crispy bun with pork and siu mai.
The noodles and sides are a good size serving for single diners. I think a noodle dish plus one side would be filling for most diners.
Rice noodles are also offered if you don't want wheat based noodles.
They also have lunch specials between 11:30am-3:30pm.
Seating is limited and austere, but service and food was excellent.
Not many places offer dry noodles and I thought this version was quite good and a decent serving size, will be back.
Vegetarian options: There are tofu dishes, vegetable dishes and dry noodle dishes made without meat.
The dry noodles sauce is made without meat or animal products and ingredients are listed in the menu: sesame paste, cilantro, green onion, sour green bean, dried radish.
Parking: Plenty of free parking, the restaurant is located in an office building surrounded by a parking lot.“

“Used to order from here via UberEats during the lockdown. The pho always tasted good, a deep beef flavour, very rich. They used to have this delicious fried rice dish cooked with crab fat. I don’t see it on the menu, but if you ever see it, it’s a must-order!“

“This is a nice little spot to get some bento box and meals. I got their Spicy teriyaki bowl meal and the seafood tofu soup. It came in this cute adorable box that had their logo on it. I love Corgis. My only set back was that the feature picture shows a lot more broccoli with my dish and I was left very little. The Seafood tofu soup was ok and it was a bit messy. It had a few shrimps and squid in there but mostly tofu and the tofu would fall apart. Overall I enjoyed my meals and I would come back and try another dish.“

“Hands down the best BUN BO HUE in the city. The combination of spices and spiciness in the soup base really hit the spot. I substituted the beef shank and pork bone for lean rare beef. Been coming here for decades and will continue to come back for this soup, which is only served on weekends. Service was quick and easy.“

“The food was tasty, fresh and delicious. They were spiced generously and very flavourful. At first glance the portions seemed small but after eating, our party of 4 was very full and satisfied. Dishes ordered: Dum-Pukht chicken biryani, hirayali chicken, dry manchurian paneer, hot & sour soup, aloo gobhi masala, schezwan rice (spicy crowd favourite), nest rasamalai(this was assembled table-side), and the sour amaretto (this wasn’t as strong as I’d like).“

“A bowl of rice noodles and a plate of grilled skewers, two highlights:
1) Satisfied with meat noodles. A spoonful of noodles with a piece of meat left in the end is better than eating dry noodles with the meat gone first.
2) The spiciness is appropriate, not some weird spiciness that makes you feel uncomfortable after eating, but the kind that feels more natural after eating.
Worthy of praise“

“More of an eatery vibe , the variety app plate is highly recommended and the Muhammara is just to die for!
The Kefta was a bit too gamey so if that's not your thing... The pulled chicken was lose although very generous amount and super healthy cooking so ... Depends
The shesh tavuk is probably the chicken winner!
Would come back for casual healthy lunches for sure“

“Great franchised restaurant specializing in boiling hot soup noodle and braised chicken rice. No beer (or any alcohol) to kill the heat but there are other drinks available. This location seems to be more generous with their portions but the flavours seem lighter. Still good.Unfortunately there is only one single stall unisex washroom, so sometimes you'll have to line up.Good service, nice ladies.“

“I can’t believe it took me this long to try this gem! The food here is incredible. I had the XLB and sesame noodles—both were outstanding. The dumplings were packed with flavourful soup, and the noodles had that perfect chew you only get with fresh, handmade dishes. I learned that everything here is crafted by hand, and you can truly taste the difference. The service was warm and welcoming, and the place was spotless. The staff were having their meal while we were there, and the baos they were enjoying looked mouthwatering. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.“

“It is difficult to beat a bubbling pot full of Yunnan style rice noodle (云南米线) on a cold evening. We shook the rain off of our jackets, sat down and ordered ourselves their classic: served with the noodles separately from the broth so we get to customise how soft or firm the bite of the rice noodle will be. Once served, we warmed up straight away.
The broth comes piping hot and feels pretty much like having a one-person serving of hot pot. Indeed, there are side dishes that complement the noodles including a selection of meats, vegetables, quail eggs and tofu which require time to cook in the hot broth.
Our other order was the rice noodles in lamb broth which had spices and enoki mushrooms. It was a bit on the heavier side in comparison but equally delicious, especially for a cold evening.
Their menu had plenty of other interesting dishes, and at fairly reasonable prices this restaurant is in our opinion worth multiple visits.“

“I love this place! It reminds me of the food from my hometown Nanjing. Please be aware that the buns and shu mai here are Nanjing style meaning that they are different than the other Hong Kong dim sum varieties which are popular in downtown Toronto. Truly a good representation of Nanjing specialties!“

“Went there unintentionally just to get some quick snack while waiting for friends. The atmosphere was like you are so where in France. I grabbed salad and a coffee and my partner enjoyed tasty cappuccino. Great balanced dressing not overpowering the taste of the fresh greens and sesame seeds. Service itself was great, since they recognized I was a first-time visitor, the ambassador had helped me to make a choice. To my surprise the prices were “balanced” as well. Great place in the heart of Toronto! Recommend it.“

“This particular branch offers a Hainan Chicken with bok choy combo meal for only $12.99. There are 6 big pieces of chicken, a generous amount of ginger green onion sauce, more than enough bok choy to have as a typical veggie portion and yellow flavoured rice. It’s also possible to add more bok choy for just a dollar more.
Other Shanghai 360 branches do not offer this (the one in Union station doesn’t offer this nor the one at First Canadian Place).
Service in the past 3x I’ve been here has always been good. The portion is big enough for a hungry person and the price is pretty good. Flavour wise, it’s good enough for a fast food place, not the real Hainanese chicken but I can’t expect more for a food stall in a building food court.
The grilled chicken was not good, tasted funny - bland and nowhere near any Chinese cuisine, but the steamed bass fish in a light soya sauce was flavourful. Almost what you can get in a restaurant. It wasn’t over cooked too.“

“Our go to place if we can’t think of what to eat because it is just so good. The price is fair, the hotpot is delicious and the staff are very nice (always provide us with refill soup ?). We always get a large pot with rice and it is plenty enough to share between two. A lot of people also get individual pots. The meal is balanced with meat and vegetables. We always go home content and happy.“
“Not sure why this place doesn’t have better reviews. Got the pumpkin curry w coconut rice for takeout and WOW it was INSANELY good. Mouth is watering just thinking about it. The coconut rice is SO fragrant it is heavenly. Better than some more well-known Thai spots. $5 for a side of coconut rice is a tad hefty but understandable with the price of ingredients these days… absolutely would order again. Thank you!“

“We went to Good Taste Casserole Rice on a Saturday, we were seven and we all ordered a rice casserole. They took longer to be served than most dishes in general. They came with a soup and a side of vegetables. I like that we get to add our own salt and soy sauce ourselves. We all loved the crispy rice stuck on the casseroles, as shown on one of the pictures. We don’t get to eat that with our instant rice cookers anymore, unlike when my parents used to cook our rice in a pot on the stove. Overall fresh, good and reasonably priced Chinese comfort food.“

I like the price if I pay in cash. However, the woman's very conversational tone reminds me of the old woman's house in Seoul. A place where you have to wait in line even though you get scolded... If you think that way, I can understand the way the owner is talking. hehe“

“We were so happy when we found out that this Pai location was in our neighbourhood and it has now become a staple. We don't notice a difference from the downtown and Eglinton locations - it's the exact same quality and portion sizes. We also love that they are so accommodating about substitutions and making items gluten free. Never a bad meal here!“
