“I stopped by on the very day they reopened after the renovation, and it was absolutely worth it. We ordered the tonkatsu set and the ginger pork set, and both were outstanding.

This place is nothing like the “Japanese-style” restaurants you often find in the U.S.—the flavors, presentation, and attention to detail all reflect genuine Japanese cooking.

Honestly, it’s surprising to find this level of authenticity at around $20. A truly great value and a spot I’m excited to come back to.“

So many places water theirs down, this place doesn't! They have all their sauces in squirt bottles on the counter, so you can squirt as much on as you like for free.“

“We had eaten at Langbaan (their expensive other restaurant), which we tremendously enjoyed as a fine dining experience. We wanted to try Phuket. “Went here for dumpling week this year. The special duck dumplings were perfect with the combination of sweet and spicy. The miso twinkie was the perfect sweet treat after the spice of the dumplings. Excited to come back and try more of their food.“

“Best (and maybe only) handpulled Chinese noodles in the Portland area. The taste is quite on point with the ones I came to love in Northern China.

The only problem is the close early sometimes and aren't open on weekends. If they were, we'd no doubt have gone countless more times.

The spice level is no joke. I like it spicy, but still feel the heat (wouldn't have it any other way).“

“We did takeout so can't speak to dine in experience. Looked like limited seating though there were a lot of plants. Food portions are extremely generous and teriyaki chicken and rice was excellent, not too sauced, salty or sweet. Will try other things next time. Google posts that they close at 8pm, though sign on door says 7pm. Don't play yourself and come late.“

“So happy to find reasonable pricing for really good dumplings! This was our first visit; the server was kind, made recommendations, and answered questions well. We ordered an assortment of items, and everything was good, some were amazing. My husband fell in love with the cucumber salad, and brothy bun. The only drawback was noise level; we were in mid day, 3:30ish, and were surprised how the voices carried in the room. Not only did it make the room loud, I felt a little self conscious. Outside of that, I would absolutely recommend a visit for some great food!“

“First discovered this place almost a decade ago when I was living nearby, and though I live much further now I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area because it's easily the best teriyaki chicken I've ever had. Their food is SO tasty, and it feels like they use high quality ingredients, I always feel good after eating here. “I've eaten at this location near my home for over a year and a half. They are always accommodating and every time I order either the green beans and chicken or the broccoli chicken I come out satisfied. The only thing I wish they had were larger fountain drinks.“

“We had the bento boxes. I had the spicy chicken and my husband had the spicy pork. Both were delicious. Other places where we've had bento, the California rolls are bland. But at this restaurant everything we had had a lot of flavor, especially the California rolls. We can wait until we come to town again and try some other dishes!“

Plus they have vegetarian options.
Atmosphere is humble, and that's a good thing. Sometimes you need to be at a place like this that is cozy and comfortable on a Thursday afternoon. Oh yeah one thing to note that the service is very slow.

“We enjoy Fuji's. A local competitor is such a madhouse. Noisey! Crowded! Reservations not honored. Overbooked! Whereas Fuji's has excellent food. Large portions. Family atmosphere. Space. Quiet. Eight of us ate here tonight, and we could easily converse and hear the cooks!!! That would never be the case at the local competitor!“

“Food is consistently delicious. Highly recommended. But also want to share that they went above and beyond when we had an issue with Door Dash. Though the lost delivery was 100% not their fault, they still remade the food and made sure it got to my door. This very high level of service is commendable! I am a customer for life now.
