“This is the best teriyaki place that you'll find in Portland. The food is great and fresh vegetables never had a bad meal been going here for over 10 years I would recommend hot rice to anybody that wants to enjoy a nice meal inside it's very clean the air conditioning works well and your server is the best she knows everything about the menu“

“This place took over what used to be Pot & Spicy. The interior is pretty much the same - nice and simple. The food offerings was a bit similar to before. We ordered a few skewers and a bowl of Beef Golden Soup to share. The server was friendly and quick to get our order in. The bacon needle mushroom and beef skewers were tasty, as well as the chicken heart skewers. The popcorn chicken could have used a better batter, in my opinion. It was more of a panko coat to it and needed more spice to it. The Beef Golden Soup was flavorful, and I enjoyed it.“

“Just Wow! Hadnt have Thai food so delicious in a long while. Everything was tasty with nice complexity of Thai flavors. The Thai Paella was cooked perfectly with a lovely crust, added the chargrilled octopus and with the hint of spiciness, the dish was wiped clean in no time. The Panang curry was a flavorful curry served with medium rare SRF steak, loved it. Cocktails were good for washing down the spicy kick of the food. I only realized I booked the wrong date when I arrived, staff was accommodating and managed to squeeze me in for a meal. So don’t risk screwing up the booking like me, as you don’t know what you miss here!“

“This is my family's favorite place to go for teriyaki. It is delicious and a great value! Good price and lots of chicken in the chicken teriyaki! They are friendly and quick.
Highly recommend if you want delicious and affordable food!
Parking: Plenty of spots in front of the restaurant, as well as a lot, and on street parking as well. I have always been able to get a parking spot right away, normally right in front of the restaurant.“

“Sambi is always delicious and with excellent service! In nearly 17 years of eating here I’ve never had a bad meal or a bad time. It was busy tonight but the food was definitely worth the wait and the service is always so friendly and exceptional. It’s always a joy to come and I can’t wait to come back for more delicious Japanese food! ??“

“Delicious handmade noodles from a food truck? Yes, please! The flavors are fantastic and the noodles are soooo good. Just make sure you ask about spiciness if that is an issue for you because when they make something spicy, they mean it! I absolutely recommend the chao mian in mild and the pork dumplings.“

“On god I would choose their fried chicken rice bowl as my last meal. I've tried a few other things on their menu and enjoyed them, but the fried chicken rice bowl is where it's at. The only dish I haven't enjoyed is the rice tots but other people I've gone with liked them so it's probably just specific to me. I never ever get sick of boke bowl and all my friends who I take here enjoy it too. The atmosphere and workers are chill also, I always feel super comfortable.“

“We picked this place based on our hotel location. The restaurant is on the corner of a little strip of shops and 7-Eleven.
Inside the atmosphere was inviting, clean, and quaint. Service and ordering was quick and the turnaround time on receiving our food from time of order was respectable.
We ordered the Seaweed Salad, Sashimi Boat, Mt. Snow, and Scorpion Roll (See photos). The fish was fresh, smelled great, and the texture was excellent. The rolls were not overly packed with sushi which made it enjoyable as the ratio of ingredients to rice allowed you to enjoy multiple rolls if you choose.
The restaurant is definitely setting the standard for what you should expect. If you haven't eaten Sashimi or Sushi in this area, this is a great place to start. I look forward to comparing other places in the future, thanks to this place for setting the customer experience. I highly recommend this place.“

“Whoa, this place makes REALLY tasty Lao food. I've become accustomed to subpar Southeast Asian restaurants in Portland, so I really wasn't expecting much when I stepped inside with my friend. The place is really nicely decorated, clean, and cute, which added to our skepticism, as a lot of authentic restaurants tend to be simple or even dingy. They offer a lot of good Lao comfort dishes, for people who are new to the cuisine as well as those who already have favorites. Their special of pork belly fried sticky rice is extremely delicious, packed with flavor and spice in every bite and fresh ingredients. My friend was blown away by the quality of the food, and she's one to be easily disappointed if things aren't done right. It's also fairly priced here which adds to how wonderful the experience is. I'm definitely coming back and trying more on the menu sometime, and I've already recommended it to a couple of people.
Parking: Small parking lot attached to the building and minimal street parking. Didn't have issues finding parking outside the building Sunday lunchtime“

“They only allowed 5 stars. Would rate higher if I was able to.
Where do I start. This place is fabulous. As soon as you walk in the front door you’re greeted by either this lovely short jolly fellow named Jesse or either Taylor who you’re not quite sure if they’re flirting with you or being professional and or the owner Preza (idk the spelling) who runs a very energetic laid back fun establishments.
The food was absolutely amazing. I had the bbq chicken and some curry soup that I will never not get. This place is so good I don’t know if I can ever eat at another Thai restaurant in Portland as long as this one exists.“

“Wowwww so good. Best wings around. Got the BBQ pork+shrimp fresh rolls, they were good but not spectacular. Very soft though which is nice! We got the laps sausage, nom nom wings and fire cracker wings.
Laos sausage was fairly pricey for the portion BUT it was so good and flavorful, nothing can compare. The sauce that was served with it had me scooping for more. I want that sauce!
Nom nom wings were my favorite. So crispy and delicious. I love garlic and these were garlic and sort of sweet like a sticky glaze. SO GOOD
The firecracker wings were the right level of spice, I love extremely spicy things (Chinese and from the south) and this was a medium level spice. I ended up putting some of the sauce from the Laos sausage on the fire cracker wings... SHEEEEESHHHH it was bussin. I wish I didn't live 35mins away because I'd eat here monthly. So, so, sooooo good.
Don't skip out on these wings! They're big, tender, crispy, and juicy.“

“I went inside with the intention to take a photo for this review, but the food was so good it was gone before I realized I hadn’t yet snapped a shot. I tried to order off the main menu and the server kindly directed me to a tiny paper pamphlet for vegan options. It had way more dishes listed than I expected. I ordered the pad Thai with soy curls, and it was delicious! The server was knowledgeable about vegan stuff (“the teriyaki has honey in it”) and the service was prompt.“

“We were looking for this place, but it is shared with another restaurant name Sweet Basil, which serves meat. I think there might be three restaurant names. There is a separate menu for each restaurant name. Passing by the kitchen, we thought that space looked clean. "You can order from either menu. Any item on the meat version can be made vegan." We just ordered from the BVK menu. It was a hot day and we were under the shade of a grape vine pergola where it was cool. Cloth napkins and tablecloth. Food was very good with lots of vegetables. The white rice came in the form of a large star with a layer of delicious black rice on top.“

“So good! Came in on a cold, rainy evening, ordered a spicy pork and a spicy chicken (no rice all salad for both) to-go. While I waited, they had free egg soup, which was so nice given the weather. The hostess was friendly and kind, and the food was delicious! Will definitely be back!!

“Yesterday we ate here. The staff was super friendly and helpful from the start. So we started with SPICY BEEF CHANK. We liked it very much and the word appetizer fitted perfectly, we got more hungry ?5 minutes later we received our main dishes. Dumplings and beff pancake roll. Both tasted very good. Prices were also good. We recommend this restaurant ??“

“Clean place with nice staff. Really consistent & delicious. -BUT- some of the things they offer are no good. if it doesn’t have teriyaki in the name don’t order it. I don’t know how many times I have felt adventurous & walked away with a plate thats literally the farthest thing possible from what I expected.the salmon is a god send. best thing on the menu. add gyoza if your extra hungry.“

“The food is delicious and the service is great. The atmosphere is very lacking if you dine in because they use paper plates and plastic cutlery and the majority of their business is takeout so you might end up sitting and eating while surrounded by a bunch of people waiting for their takeaway orders. Like I said though, the food is delicious. To the numb nuts complaining about them using plastic bags: every Chinese restaurant does it and the majority of people in Oregon were against the ban anyway (Over 60% opposed) so get over it.“

“Favorite place to eat. Great sushi and service. Fresh, made to order by menu. Highly recommended by a friend who was a frequent diner. Spicy tuna rolls, ninja rolls without the jalepenos, spider rolls, and yellowtail rolls are top choices. Happy hour is happy for eating more. Thank you to the staff and sushi chefs, especially the kitchen staff. Support your local businesses. We'll see you next time!
Parking: Approximately 50-100 spots. I can't count.

“We were pleasantly surprised after we took a chance with this adorable restaurant. It's tucked away in a small shopping center off of 82nd in Clackamas.
The service was quick and friendly. They have an extensive Sushi menu, as well as other Japanese offerings like Tempura, Teriyaki, and Ramen. The prices are reasonable for the fare. We arrived at 730 on a Sunday night. By 8PM, they had more than half the tables full. This place was exactly what we wanted. We will be back.“

“I really liked the food. There are a lot of different options. The service was great. I did have to wave someone down for more water. The only thing that I wish there was, AC. It made it kind of a miserable dining experience because it was so hot. It was 100° outside. All the food came out hot, good thing, and it made it hotter inside the restaurant.“

“Listen, this is the best place to eat on the planet. My boyfriend showed me this location a few months ago and mentioned that he actually went to Chang’s when it first opened back in 89’ in downtown Portland and has followed it around since. My exact thoughts were, “where have you been my entire life?” We try to eat here at least once a week (sometimes twice) and I honestly can’t get enough (although I can barely go back for seconds most of the time)! You guys rock! EXCELLENT SERVICE! EXCELLENT FOOD! There’s not a single thing negative about this place, PERIOD. 💖💖💖“

“Thai place that's kind of hole in the wall, and it's pretty good. I like to get pad woon sen, the noodles are very delicious. Pineapple fried rice was my previous go to before that, and what is good is that they will substitute brown rice so that's helpful for dietary restrictions. I'm a regular and so occasionally they have surprised me with some small snacks when I get the receipt like a mandarin or a cookie. I liked that :)
Dietary restrictions: Substitute brown rice“

“Great place! The chicken Yakisoba was delicious, fast, and a great deal to boot. My vegan husband had teriyaki tofu/veggies and enjoyed it as well. And the guy helping was super nice. Will 100% be back, it's great to support a local business over a chain!
Vegetarian options: A few vegan options including tofu/veggie teriyaki and stir fry“

“We’ve been here many times and keep coming back. Today we had beef stew noodles, seafood noodles, and shrimp salad rolls. The beef was tender and flavorful with a hearty broth. The seafood noodles had a little spicy kick and the lime gave a great flavor. They add some crispy pieces to the salad rolls that give a great texture.“
