“So good!!!! We arrived shortly after they opened on a Saturday and there was no wait at all. Our food came out quickly, huge portions, delicious. Very traditional Japanese food. We got the karaage omu-curry and the aji fry bento. Especially loved the side of torijiru (soup) that came with the bento. Definitely one of our regular dinner spots. Highly recommend!“

“Ordered the Pork Jjajang myun (best in Portland so far that I’ve tasted) and Seafood Jjambong although a bit spicy. Don’t let the restaurant name and exterior fool you. It’s authentic!“

“Great options, their fried tofu (tao huu tod) was my favorite, crispy and dry in the best way. The potato dish (mon tod) was also a very good starter. Their salad is very well done and their vegan curry might be my favorite, very herbaceous and less coconut-y than most. The pad see ew was good but a little forgettable compared to everything else I’ve tried. I look forward to returning for lunch sometime and trying their fried rice, curry noodles and choi.“

“Best (and maybe only) handpulled Chinese noodles in the Portland area. The taste is quite on point with the ones I came to love in Northern China.

The only problem is the close early sometimes and aren't open on weekends. If they were, we'd no doubt have gone countless more times.

The spice level is no joke. I like it spicy, but still feel the heat (wouldn't have it any other way).“

“Great thai restaurant. Not expensive and delicious. Only criticism is my wife asked for not spicy curry and it still had some spice. The dishes were fresh. The spices were great and authentic, and my favorite dish was the Thai fried rice. I will definitely come back here.“

“Visited during both Nacho Week and Burger Week, had an excellent time both visits despite it being very busy! The specialty week options were both delicious and really novel. Both visits were while the restaurant was pretty packed, and service was still quick. Will be returning soon, each visit I saw other people eating something else that looked amazing! “Absolutely outstanding from start to finish! Nom Nom is such a great addition to the Pearl District. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and just has a great energy to it, but what really stood out was how genuinely kind and welcoming everyone was. You could tell they cared about making sure we had a great experience.

And the food! We had the dumplings, chow mein, and samosas, and every single dish was delicious. Then came dessert. The beignets were unreal. Truly one of the best things my taste buds have ever experienced. I would go back for those alone!

“I've tried quite a few things here at this point and I've always been happy, I'll say their chicken teriyaki is large and phenomenal. They have so many plants! Definitely cool. Their rice is particularly good, this may sound weird but many places don't clean their rice correctly and it just ends up with a terrible texture.

The main guy in there always brings me water when I sit down because I always forget. Just a sweet atmosphere and good people worth supporting.“

“It was my first time in Oregon and I came across this spot as my last meal on the way out. We ordered the beef and salmon bentos. The beef was tender, vegetables cooked perfectly, had a nice kick to it, and the sauce went great with the purple rice. The portion of the salmon was generous and it was moist with a nice crust. I was surprised that the dressing on the salad (carrot I believe?) was also very good. They offer a wide variety as there are a lot of entrees to choose from on their menu. Clean interior with options to sit inside and outside. Highly recommend if you want a great tasting, casual meal.“

“Joy Wok is as great as ever it does not aspire to be something its not, just good high quality food as a good price point.

I have stayed with the same meal for over a decade because its thay good. The five spice chicken is something I have found no where else.

I will be back and the commercial area where they are located allows for an easy jump between a few places for variety.“

“Great prices for the food quality and amount you get. If you like salmon teriyaki this is a good place to try. $20 gets you a portion that is 2-3 times as much fish that you'd see other places and the quality is great.

If you like Japanese curry they have a great chicken or pork with curry entree as well. Really good stuff.

Sushi is high quality as well and tons of options.

Really good vegetable tempura and miso soup.

Only thing that isnt perfect is the outdoor seating. Half of it is right up against curb parking spots where you might have car exhausts dumping right onto you and your food. Sit inside if you can.“

I am so sorry that happened at your restaurant, but I want to leave a review saying how thankful I am for you guys and how amazingly you handled the situation of me passing out at your table. My friend likes a joke that your food is so good it almost killed me and although it did NOT almost kill me, your food is amazing. The staff is amazing. The restaurant is very clean. “1 pm lunch was amazing. An hour before closing, quiet anx quick. The service was impeccable. The inside is very chic with a modern feel. The entire experience felt upscale. The food was divine.
