“Expect to be here for roughly 1.5 hrs but well worth it! We show up right when they open; get seated, order and food hits the table 50 minutes later. Food is very well done and worth the wait otherwise we wouldn’t keep coming back. My family has been going here for several years. If you are impatient; this place is not for you!“

“Fresh, beautifully presented sushi with great variety.
We ordered a mix of rolls and appetizers, and everything was consistently good. The rolls were well-balanced—not overly sauced—and the fish tasted fresh. The spicy tuna poke had a nice kick without overpowering the flavor of the fish, and the blistered shishito peppers were a perfect starter.
Presentation was thoughtful and elegant, especially the specialty rolls and nigiri. You can tell care went into both the food and plating. Service was attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed but polished…great for a casual dinner or a special night out.
Would definitely come back to try more of the menu. 🍣“

“Was told about this “secret” restaurant with little signage, weird hours, that you had to get there before opening to secure a seat. Excited to try, we got there 15 min prior to opening and indeed, 7-10 before opening, we saw someone going in so we opened the door and they were seating people. By opening time they were nearly full. Our excitement was seemingly validated by the opening rush.
Atmosphere was clean, staff were friendly. The menu looked delicious. The food however, hmm. We got their signature ramen, which is $18.50. It was ok. The broth wasn’t as rich as other ramens I’ve had in the area but had some unique flavors. The cubed pork belly in the soup was tender but slightly bland. The sliced chashu was ok but only 1-2 pieces in each bowl. There were limited veggies in the soup too, I prefer more. Didn’t like the fine angel-hair noodles, I prefer a thicker noodles at other places. Overall the ramen at FuddoYama or Lucky Cat is a lot better. Even Ramen Ryoma inside Uwajimaya was better, despite them not even having tonkatsu.
We also got some sides. A small bowl of rice was $5. Edamame was $8 which is pricey, but when it arrived, it was the smallest edamame serving I’ve ever seen. There was literally a child’s size handful only. $8 felt like robbery. The other sides, fried tofu and karrage chicken were delicious, but also priced at nearly an entree but the portion size was on the smaller size. Spent over $90 for two adults and a young child who only ate a couple sides and didn’t leave full. Something is wrong with that picture.
Overall, was meh. Probably won’t return. Overhyped and overpriced. I’m all for hidden gems but I don’t understand the buzz about this place. I eat ramen 1-2 times a week and have tried I think every place that serves ramen on the west side. The best tasting ramen and best value in town is Lucky Cat ramen full stop. And it’s only $12.
All you other restaurants need to step up your game.“

“I didn’t take a photo (regret it now!), but these were honestly the best sushi I’ve had in Beaverton.
Everything was incredibly fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. The fish tasted super fresh, and the ingredient combinations were just perfect — nothing to add, nothing to change. I’m genuinely impressed.
I ordered three rolls, and it basically turned into three full meals — they’re that filling and generous in size.
Amazing quality for the price. Absolutely worth it.
Keep it up! 🙌“

“First time trying & don't know what took me so long. I'm a big fan of Katsu Chicken but rarely order it especially if done with chicken breast. It's rare to find chicken breast not overly dry so avoid ordering it. They told me they use thigh meat for all their dishes so went with it. This was wonderful, cooked to perfection, & a huge amount of food. I will be eating on it for two days. The place was super clean & put the food out quickly. I can't wait to try some of their other dishes.“

“Been coming here on and off for over ten years and it is always fantastic. The food costs enough that you expect it to be good but not too much to where you regret ordering items. It's always great though and never a disappointment or a regret. My favorite appetizer is their monkey brain which consist of tuna inside a ball of avocado. Just great as I love both of those things. It is decorated beautifully and even has sunken booths where you take off your shoes and sit on pillows. Super authentic if you want that. The portions are generous and worth every penny. Love coming back here and glad that I live so close. Don't waste your time and money at the places that are hyped up, this place has been here forever and it shows why in all that they do. Looking forward to our next trip to Banya“

“On March 6, 2021 we ordered catering services from Zen teriyaki and Beaverton. The quality of service and food was amazing and the price point was spot on as well. We ordered their standard catering package and added on salad and 20 Eggrolls total cost before tipping was about $170.00. This was enough good for about 16 people. We only had 12 people, we ate the rest the next day as leftovers. I will use them in the future and I would highly recommend them to anybody who is looking for high-quality food with great service.“

“Couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate! Our only complaint is that we can’t bring Koya back home with us. This place is so cozy and when you walk in you feel like you are part of the family. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Every single roll that came out was prettier than the next. We could have ate the entire menu and I don’t think there would have been one roll we would have been disappointed with. We got 12 rolls and I couldn’t take the pictures fast enough because the sushi was too fresh and begged to be eaten. Thank you Koya for making a special day even better. When in Beaverton do yourself a favor and support this humble but mighty establishment!“

“Best sushi in pdx with amazing prices. The portions are incredible and you can tell they invest in high quality ingredients. Their menu is very accommodating and easy to understand. I highly recommend the soft shell crab, as well as their sweet shrimp sashimi!
I highly recommend this place to those looking to get real good sushi. I fear that everywhere else I have tried has not measured up to it at all !
Their bento boxes look like a great deal too - the only thing to keep in mind is that they usually close from 2:30 - 4:30pm daily which can be mildly inconvenient if you wanted to drop in for a late lunch.

“We have been eating at Ninja Bowl for several years. We have ordered in the restaurant and also for delivery. The food is top notch, always fresh and always delicious. Ninja Bowl is our go to for teriyaki. Hands down. Never disappointed or let down. The order is always spot on when we order through GrubHub. If you are looking for asaian teriyaki in Beaverton - this is your first stop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!“

“One of my favorite places, amazing bakery! The staff is wonderful, the baked goods are in a class of their own. Their bread is so outstanding, it's the only bread I will buy/eat! Go early for the best selection as pastries get snapped up quickly.“

“We stopped by Sambi and honestly had some of the best Japanese food we’ve had in the PNW.
We ordered the Karaage Omu Curry, Smoked Salmon Roll, Negihama Roll, and Seared Salmon Nigiri. The curry really reminded us of the kind of comfort food you’d get at a restaurant in Japan. The karaage was super flavorful, nicely marinated, crispy on the outside, and incredibly juicy and tender inside.
The salmon was outstanding and about as fresh as it gets. The seared salmon nigiri practically melted in your mouth, and the smoked salmon roll was excellent. The Negihama Roll was rolled perfectly with a great balance of fish and rice, which is harder to find than you’d think.
Service was friendly and quick, and everyone made us feel welcome. We’re really glad we found this place and it’ll definitely be one of our go-to spots whenever we’re in the area.“

“I cannot stress enough how much I love this place.
The food is fantastic. I have never had an issue with them not paying attention to special instructions. The shop itself is so so cute and cozy.
I hope this place never goes away. 🥹“

“Very impressed. Ordered a fresh hand roll with yellowtail and avocado — fish was clean and fresh, rice properly seasoned, and the texture balance was excellent. The ginger and soy were well portioned, and the overall presentation was simple and honest.
It’s not flashy — it’s focused on quality. If you appreciate fresh fish and straightforward execution, this is a great stop“

“Decent - this place has been here forever and I finally decided to try it on a whim. Got the salmon and the portions and price are decent with how food costs are right now, service was quick. The food itself is decent, the salmon was a tad on the dry/overcooked side but still plenty edible and a good portion, and I liked the little cabbage side. The only trouble is most of the seasoning is a light bit of sauce and black pepper - the salmon and cabbage had a lot of black pepper and not much else. Your food has a decent base flavor but it was a bit smothered under the pepper. The gyoza looked good but also, for some reason, come drizzled with spicy mayo, so you're out of luck if you didn't want spicy, and also it soaks into the breading and leaves it soggy pretty fast too anyhow. Would be nicer as a side at least. Good portion of rice came with but, again, kinda plain without much sauce or seasoning on the salmon. Maybe I was supposed to sauce it up at the restaurant or something for take out? Either way, not terrible for <$15 but not amazing.“

“The sushi has been alright. The two times I've visited were off-hours, and both times I had service issues (awkward interactions, slow service, having meals served 5 minutes apart despite both being raw) that irk me given the combination of price tag and the restaurant not even being busy with plenty of staff around. Makes me think I should avoid going when it's busier.“

“My buddy and I came here for dinner one evening over the summer. It was a nice atmosphere sitting outside.
The sushi is really good and hit the spot. We ordered a little bit of everything. Any time I try sushi on the west coast it’s really good. I would recommend coming by if you’re in the area.“
