I’ve tried many sushi places in the area, and this is still my favorite in terms of quality and value. I’m very picky when it comes to sushi, so that says a lot. “We actually got take out but the restaurant was clean, well decorated, and the people working were pleasant and polite. Food was made quickly, and the food was excellent. I’m disappointed I didn’t know this place was there until I got a random craving for teriyaki today. We got salmon and chicken plus some pot stickers… everything was hot, crispy, flavorful, cooked to perfection, meat was juicy, I just can’t get over how perfect everything was. Usually you find at least one thing that isn’t par but they really nailed it. I’ve been living here for three years and never knew KC teriyaki was around but we will going back since we are picky eaters and lean towards fresh, light and healthy (with some guilty taste-leaning preferences sprinkled in.)“

“These place is legit. We got the teriyaki chicken and chicken yakisoba. We paid $28 total and the potion is very generous. It’s enough food for 4 people to split. The chicken is well seasoned and charred, the rice is perfectly cooked.my only feedback is the yakisoba noodles is a bit sticky this time. Overall all I highly recommend this place.“

“I've taken my kids to Fuji's since my 19 year old's 1st birthday. It's still so fun to take them, and enjoy our time together. The chefs are fun to talk to, very impressive to watch, and they are very careful to serve exactly what you order.“

“Don’t listen to the bad reviews. I’ve been going to eat there At least once or twice a month for years. My suggestion is as you go in and eat there. It’s small, but it’s worth it. They are known for their chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki, which is very good. I don’t know if they’re known for the ribs because I’m not silly enough to Order ribs because I am smart enough to know I need to go to A place that specializes in barbecue ribs. I’m going there for teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef. They hit that out of the park and bring you a nice large Plate with a good amount of chicken or beef with fresh salad with that really good tasting Asian dressing, and two balls Of rice and a Free egg drop soup which is very good.
All I can say is, don’t listen to the negative reviews. I have never been disappointed there and I always walk out very full and satisfied. Everyone there is intensely nice and no one’s trying to take you a ride for what you pay. I’ve never ordered takeout, but I’m sure the quality of the beef and chicken is still the same, but I can’t address the takeout because I never done that. I like eating in the restaurant because the atmosphere is relaxed even though it is very small.“

“This is our favorite Ichi location in Vancouver. We usually call in a to-go order, which is convenient, and the service is prompt. The portions are worth the price and taste authentic.Pictured below is my favorite, spicy chicken breast teriyaki with onions, red bell peppers, mushrooms, and green onions. The entree is also served with plenty of steamed white rice, a side of teriyaki sauce, and a salad with signature dressing. You can request chili sauce on the side as well. This location is part of the Heritage shopping center, always has parking, and helpful staff.“

“The best bang for your buck when it comes to Japanese food. All you can eat for a decent price. Tons of sushi options (yep! All-you-can-eat sushi), fresh grill-style options, and plenty of other Japanese options, including noodles, rice, gyozas, Kung Pao, beef, chicken skewers, string beans, hot and cold beverages, and of course soups and deserts. Staff are friendly and clear tables quickly to keep the wait time to none most of the time. The noise level is like most restaurants, it depends on how many people are in there. Our go-to for sushi and Japanese. My family loves sushi, but I don't like it and there are still plenty of options for me. Well worth it. You'll love it if you try it.“

“We haven't even left this restaurant yet... I had to jump on here and praise this wonderful lady and her amazing food. Their salad dressing is made in house and their teriyaki chicken is astounding. This is the closest food I've found to Oahu, HI teriyaki!“

“My husband and I visited the "Shinsen" sushi restaurant in October 2024. The reason we post this review much later is we just returned home in London, UK. We were very pleasantly surprised from the moment we entered this nice restaurant. The interior design of the restaurant is made from the heart with attention to detail in the theme of the Far East. Next, the friendly atmosphere is created by the restaurant staff. Restaurant chefs prepare dishes right next to you and you can watch it being prepared. During our visit, we tried many dishes and drinks. I must admit that my husband, who is a very picky person and stingy with praise, found the food very tasty and delicious, giving much praises to the staff. I, however, was enchanted by my Violet Eyes cocktail being served "in the fog". We wish this nice restaurant every success.“

“Getting so expensive. 17.37 for a chicken soba with double chicken. I don't go to very often. But I remember when it use to be 2 bucks for double chicken. And now they also charge for a side of hot sauce.Food is good though.Staff can be more friendlier, act like they care at least.“

“I had the Homemade Spicy Chicken. It was excellent. The service was fast. I asked the server what was amazing, and I ordered the first thing she said. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and concerned about our experience. The soup that's there to eat while you wait was fantastic. I don't know what it was, but it was like homemade chicken noodle soup, without the noodles. Our server said it was made with love. I agree. I wish I had taken a picture to show the beautiful presentation, but I had it half eaten before I thought about it.“

“Definitely a place to visit 🤎 The gyoza were nice, full and juicy. The Spicy Pork and Kung Pao Chicken were savory and the sauce was delicious!! The yakisoba and rice were both fantastic! 😋 While we were dining, Sam, the manager came out to greet us.. very friendly and was very kind and appreciative. Another awesome thing about this place is the excellent service and clean tables!! Reasonable prices as well! The menu has so many options, I look forward to going back and trying other menu items. By far one of the best teriyaki places I have eaten at anywhere. 🤎“

“I have ordered catering from Hawaiian Style Grill several times for our church in the past, and have been so please with the food and service.
This past week I reached out to them last minute to inquire into getting food catered for 150 leaders at the end of our Kids Camp. Not only they take on our large catering order.. they went way above and beyond by blessing with the entire order of food, sauce, utensils, and paper goods. Our team was overwhelmed with gratitude for their kindness, and the food was so delicious! Thank you Hawaiian Style Grill for your kindness, delicious food, and excellent service pouring into our community and our church!

“We fell in love this place because of the atmosphere, professional service and delicious sushi. I recently had my best meal of recent memory there. The guys make the sushi right in front of you. Conveyor-belt serving is fun and faster than fast food. I can feed two 160-lb people for about $30. Yumm!“

“I think what I like most about Joy Teriyaki is the food and presentation; it’s freshly-prepared and delivered on a plate, not a cheap plastic bowl or container. The dining room is clean without the loud distractions (the tv is muted, and the overhead soundtrack mellow). I was surprised to feel like I “slowed down” to prepare a real cooked meal, rather than handed a bunch of reheated rice and warmed up frozen chicken. The service was polite and prompt, going out of their way to meet the dietary needs of some elderly patrons who joined me in the dining room. If you’re looking for a slower pace with better food and polite service, I think you’ll be as surprised as I was.“

“Lovely sushi, there wasn't as much of a variety as I'd expected when looking at the menus. BUT it's highly possible I'm just awful at differentiating between them! All plates are the same price except the specialties, very affordable and filling^^“
