“Our family has eaten here often and have always enjoyed visits with the owner, he's such a nice gentlemen! However, we ordered take out tonight and the food was different and not near to what it usually is... We did not see him tonight and I am hoping it's because he found staff and was able to take a step back and take care of himself! Our order was missing the vegetables which we love, regular teriyaki chicken was dry and chewy and our other order was not what we ordered. I'm hoping this is just a temporary adjustment as staff are adjusting, I'm not sure? Anyways, we love the owner and will continue to support him, but hoping next time is back to usual as eating out is so expensive these days!“
“I have been eating here for months now but the only thing about the food is the beef. Sometimes when I get beef it tastes great and sometimes it just doesn’t taste right. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s not cooked correctly? It’s 50/50 chance of getting it cooked like that. The cooks needs to taste the beef more often when cooking it to make sure it tastes at it should.“
“10 out of 10!!!! The staff is very very nice and always super attentive and detailed. The atmosphere is clean, it is decorated nicely, and I love to take my family here! We love everything, especially the specialty "House roll" sushi, noodles, fried rice, and Xiao long boa (dumplings)! The food is fresh, it tastes very good, and you get a good-sized portion. ?“
“I've been to almost every sushi restaurant in Vancouver. I always get salmon nigiri. The Salmon nigiri here had the biggest and most flavorful chunks of salmon that I've EVER had! It was absolutely delicious. Both my daughters said the california rolls were really good too. The server was very attentive and the water tasted good and ultra-filtered unlike a lot of restaurant water.“
“First time here. The miso soup was . I ate 2 misos, 8 pieces of California rolls?, the Mexican rolls were 4/5 because the sauce was just a bit too sweet for my taste but still really good. The place was very clean but understaffed this day. There were only 2 servers and it was a bit slow with the food coming out but it was understandable. My two kids liked their food too. The prices were reasonable too. Here's a picture ?. This is my new go to place from now on.“
“It's a favorite for my wife and I. We go once a year, not often, we don't eat out often. We go for our company Christmas party. Everything is great. The only smidgen of a complaint would be the following. My wife asked for half fried rice, half noodles with her choice of Seafood proteins. All noodles for both of us. She is not the one to mention it, even though I know they would of gladly fixed it.“
“Very nice teriyaki restaurant. They have some good looking menu items. This was my first time here, so I will try some others next time. The Gyoza are basically pot stickers and pretty tasty! I got the bulgogi because I love Korean food. The flavor was spot on, but the cut of meat was pretty low end, lots of gristle and fatty pieces. The chicken Gyoza was very well cooked, and overall a better choice than the bulgogi.Parking: Strip mall parking, so plan ahead if you're on a schedule!“
“Thiw place has the best sushi in town i've ever had! Very fresh and tasty! The best tamago i've tasted, and i'm not the biggest fan personally. Definitely worth every penny! And if you're not into sushi, they have a lot of other staple japanese fare- yakisoba, udon, veggie tempura, katsu... all amazing. Please give them a try if you're in the area!“
“It's nice to see that, while prices have risen, quality has remained. I believe they have gotten more generous w their servings, too. My favorite is the korean short ribs, tender, just enough fat and crispy burnt edges. Family loves the gyoza and teri chicken. My daughter is partial to the yakisoba. And, if you like kim chee, theirs reminds me of growing up in los angeles and enjoying homemade kim chee from neighbors. Definitely recommend.“
“This is our favorite Ichi location in Vancouver. We usually call in a to-go order, which is convenient, and the service is prompt. The portions are worth the price and taste authentic.Pictured below is my favorite, spicy chicken breast teriyaki with onions, red bell peppers, mushrooms, and green onions. The entree is also served with plenty of steamed white rice, a side of teriyaki sauce, and a salad with signature dressing. You can request chili sauce on the side as well. This location is part of the Heritage shopping center, always has parking, and helpful staff.“
“Everything was good. Be advised that the General Tsao's chicken is a bit different than most. It reminded me more of a mild buffalo sauce than General. It was good just different so if your heart is set on a traditional General Tsao's chicken you may be disappointed. I liked it however.“
“The best Teriyaki in town by far! The "BBQ flame" flavor is so tasty. The amount of meat is worth the $. I've been to ichi and oh my teriyaki is way tastier. Clean friendly comfortable environment. Customer service is great too.“
“Been twice so far. Had two styles of chicken, both amazing. Teriyaki has a light flavor, but a lot of depth. Rice is flavorful. The mac salad is delicious. Can't wait to try more dishes. Place is clean and has a relaxed atmosphere. Staff is always nice and helpful. Prices are very reasonable for the portions. You'll never leave hungry. 10/10“
“Wonderful customer service. There was a 5 min delay in getting our food out (we didn't even realize) and they gave us some gyoza to compensate. The server was wonderful, service was quick, and the restaurant was exceptionally clean and quiet. Perfect, thank you!“
“TL;DR: excellent protein to rice ratios. HH doesn't save you that much.Parking: shared lot next to Holiday Inn Express.Atmosphere: cafe-like setting with limited seating, not a very large dining area.Menu: has images and straightforward descriptions. You will be handed several menus: sushi, drink, specials, main, and Happy Hour menus (during HH only). The sushi menu is laminated and has tick mark boxes. Mark what you like on the large laminated sushi menu and write down any additional things you'd like that aren't listed on the bottom section.Service: wait to be seated, you will be watered, order at the table, check brought to you, you will pay while seated at the table via a portable register the server brings.Happy Hour prices are not too different than regular prices and you are required to purchase a beverage. Don't expect huge percentages off the meals--just a few dollars off. Limited selection of items on the HH menu.Miso Soup: typical miso soup with seaweed bits and tiny tofu cubes. Not overly salty. The sushi rolls here have a very even ratio of rice and protein. They are not like some places that go heavy on the rice. The sushi tastes really fresh and is cool in temperature as opposed to some places that serve you room temp sushi.Bubble Bubble Roll: my all time favorite sushi roll that I wish was offered everywhere! It has such a nice combination of flavors. That lemon slice is edible -- eat the whole thing! The lemon adds a nice tang to the salmon and the salmon roe add a nice burst of saltiness.Philadelphia Roll: typical Philly roll but there is a slightly more generous proportion of salmon in the roll compared to some other sushi joints.Veggie Tempura Roll: The veggies are nicely breaded with tempera and wrapped in the sushi roll. There is a light crunch to eat bite which I appreciate. However, the sauce that is drizzled on top is a bit sweet in my opinion and I would have appreciated a little less of it.“
“All the negative reviews of this place are unwarranted. It’s a no frills Korean restaurant with simple decor. The owner is one of the nicest people you’ll meet. Just someone serving good food at a fair price with generous portions. For those who expect a fine dining experience from a strip-mall restaurant, I would encourage you to reframe your skewed perspective.“
“Never write reviews about places, but gen sushi is special. Always a go to, and the staff has always been nothing but amazing. Several times while dining I’ve been offered free samples of things that sometimes aren’t even on the menu. Such a great experience, 10/10“
