“I went here for the first time tonight (Friday, 6/30) at 5:15 PM. It was fabulous! Our server went out of the way with us, including looking into different types of tequila they have so my mom could have the perfect margarita. The food came out very quickly, our water was always full, and the ambiance was great. We had delicious chicken gyoza, shrimp gyoza, ebi tem, and chicken karaage don. It's some of the best Japanese food we've had in the Happy Valley/Clackamas area in a long time. We will definitely be back!“

“Nori is my favorite sushi in Portland. The prices are just right and the service is quick and kind. The people that work here are personable and attentive. I always get the spicy edamame and the Cherry Blossom roll. It’s the all time best sushi roll in my opinion. Please run, don’t walk, to Nori for a late lunch/dinner.“

“Washabi sushi is one of a unique place to try donut and burger sushi. The staffs are pretty nice and friendly. Foods are absolutely delicious and tasty with nice presentations. I would love to come back and introduce my friends to visit this place.“

“For mall food, this was by far my best option. Fresh vegetables and noodles cooked right in front of me was appreciated amd the flavor was subtle and delicious. Nothing is hidden or muddled; the recipe is full bodied, served insanely quick, and with the hospitality of an old friend you haven't seen in years (big shoutout to one-man army Mr. Makoto Yoshino). If you live on the east side of town and looking for a good place to have some exceptional pho without driving all the way to SE 82nd, look no further than here. I would even argue it beats a lot of the local pho spots you find on SE 82nd. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs and food came out as if it were made with love and care. I took my mom and little brother out here for lunch last week, because I’ve always driven by this location and have always wondered if it’s good, trust me IT’S GOOD. “Yami sushi is easily the best all-around Asian food that you can get in Portland and their difference is in the small detail of each dish, every presentation. Each sushi roll is jampacked with flavor and bursting with ingredients in a perfect harmony and presentation. You can really tell the love that the chefs put into every single roll that they make. The quantity is also very generous, and portions will put you in a satisfying coma afterwards. They have a lot of various menu items, none of which you can go wrong with selecting. Whether that’s noodles, soups, rice dishes, sushi rolls, or the underrated appetizer/starters (spicy edamame 🔥, seaweed salad, tempura) and desserts ( Bing Soo is better than any standalone place in Portland ). They also have a lot of interesting beverage and alcoholic choices. The environment is very family run and cozy, and the real beautiful orchids and plant decorations on each table are very nice touch. The soy sauce is also handmade? I could drink a whole bottle.

The service is always very warm, welcoming and responsive. They take care of you right and it doesn’t take much to feel familiar.

Shout out to the kalbi item on the menu, which is also better than any Korean restaurant I’ve been to in Portland. A place full of hidden gems and lovely individuals working hard in their community.

“I have been going here eating in person and doing take out for at least 15 years. In all those years I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service to match. The prices have barely changed in all this time with portions being consistent and great value. Two can easily eat here for $30 or less leaving full and happy. Highly recommended to anyone.“

“So I exclusively get tamagos from here but they are very tasty.

I tend to order anywhere from 2-4 max at a time with two tamagos in each order.
(We •used• to order around 6-12 max orders at a time (yes this does in fact mean I would devour 24 tamagos over the course of 2 days. it’s a safe food for me) because they are so good but they raised the prices when the egg prices jumped up in 2025 and never really brought it back down which made that kinda more unsustainable for such a large order so now we rocking the 2-4 count.)

the tamagos are consistent in texture and taste and have never failed to delight me.

The staff is kind and efficient (They sometimes put smiley faces on your takeout box which is cute) and offer miso (both spicy and not) soup while you wait which was very important in the winter cold for making the wait bearable.

My housemate has had a variety of their other sushi’s and has never been disappointed by the quality or taste. This Shushi cart is overall very affordable for the sushi’s they get and it’s their favorite place to get sushi from (which is also their favorite kind of food) so it’s recommended by multiple members of my house.“

“My husband and I wanted to venture out and check out a new sushi spot. We tend to always visit the same place in Vancouver and chose to try something in Portland. I came across this restaurant on Yelp and saw it had great reviews so we thought we’d make our way out. It’s located off of 122nd and it’s next to a little corner store market. Very easy to miss and parking lot is very small. We were the only ones in there when we walked in. An Asian male greeted us right away and allowed us to pick any table to sit at. He brought over waters and played and utensils while we looked over the menu. There was quite a bit of options for the sushi and bento dishes, as well as the other Chinese food options. We order chicken gyoza, katsu chicken (which came with miso soup), 2 different sushi rolls and the chicken lo mein. Everything tasted fresh and the food items were all delicious. My husband loved all the dishes and rated everything a 5-star. The service was great and the restaurant was small and clean. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.“

“This is the best sushi I have ever had.
We frequently eat at this location almost every week. The staff has never been anything short of perfect in every aspect. Our food is always made fresh on the spot.
The staff even know me by face and start my order the moment they see me and it's amazing.
Because of their amazing effort we always tip generously and acknowledge there great customer service skills. The chef is the embodiment of the title chef.

If you haven't I urge you to visit this hidden gem of a restaurant 5 stars all the way.“

“The food is delicious! Stands apart from other teriyaki houses with their unique, homemade, delicious teriyaki sauce and the how they serve it over a bed of rice with the veggies mixed in it. The best part is they have a chicken breast option (which is why I tried them out). Not the nicest restaurant, but the food makes up for it.“

“I can’t believe it took us so long to come try out Muteki! The decor is so cute, but most importantly their food goes CRAZY- I was so excited to try I forgot to take a pic before having a few bites of the black garlic ramen hahaha. The noodles are nice and thick with a good bite, and the chashu pork is thick cut and pre seared- it’s SO good!

I also have to say that I saw a review dinging the prices- their bowls def cost a couple bucks more than other spots, but I’d have to argue that it’s fully worth the price both in value and quantity. They’re practically pho bowls, and on top of that they do NOT hold back on toppings. We each got a full egg instead of just a half, and SO much pork! Also plenty of bamboo shoots and mushrooms to enjoy 🥰 Realistically we could have split one bowl and still been full. I’m stoked to come back and try their dumplings next time!

The one thing to note- if you park in the parking lot by Red Robin you’ll be able to enter through that side, but there isn’t a door chime to let the staff know someone’s arrived. We showed up while it was slow, so we crossed the restaurant to open the front door to let them know we were here and someone immediately came to seat us, but if we hadn’t done that they may have not realized we were there right away!“

I’ve really gotten to know the workers/owners there and they really make the food with love, sincerity, and always provide great customer service like getting to know me, my name, what I like, etc. Genuinely my favorite teriyaki place, as I tried the other locations and either the service wasn’t as good or the way the food was made. The food arrived right on time and was delivered in warming containers, which kept everything hot and fresh until it was ready to be served. “i get the spicy sushi bowl from here all the time, the teriyaki tofu is also delicious. they’re always super kind, and portions are very large. especially in the summer, the bowls are so refreshing.

and this pod of food carts is super cute, definitely worth a walk through the neighborhood for takeout or to eat at the shared picnic tables. generally there are multiple well-behaved dogs at a given time.“
