“We love this place! We eat here regularly, and truly enjoy the food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. The black cod miso yaki is our favorite dish - it's delicious and I highly recommend it. The veggie and shrimp tempura is the best I've ever had, with an interesting mix of eggplant, mushrooms, squash, lotus root, and onions - all lightly battered and served with a delightful dipping sauce (pour the dipping sauce on the black cod, it's so good). The cocktails, especially the Japanese 75 and the shiso gin drink (I can't think of the name), are well-balanced and mixed properly, and are very yummy. I tell everyone I know to try this place! Some of the food can seem adventurous if you're not familiar with Japanese fare, but it's all delicious and beautifully presented. Finally, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner is a very sweet and funny lady. All around, Sushi Kuni is a great dining experience and I highly recommend checking it out.“

“Just moved into the area, decided this would be my first cart I'd try. They do chicken and they do it well! Reasonably priced. Reasonably generous portions of proteins. My only suggestion is cut salad and add more rice! However this is merely a matter of opinion. The important part is the chicken portions are extremely generous. It's delicious and I'm sure I will return! Salad was well dressed without drenching it, potstickers were neither too crispy or soggy, just right. Well done!“

“I have been going here eating in person and doing take out for at least 15 years. In all those years I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service to match. The prices have barely changed in all this time with portions being consistent and great value. Two can easily eat here for $30 or less leaving full and happy. Highly recommended to anyone.“

“I love me some teriyaki bowl, and because I am on the road all day with my job, I get the opportunity to try several different restaurants on a monthly basis. This is one of the best, and Jonathan and his team make fantastic food and have created a very friendly environment. I will definitely be returning.“

“Yami sushi is easily the best all-around Asian food that you can get in Portland and their difference is in the small detail of each dish, every presentation. Each sushi roll is jampacked with flavor and bursting with ingredients in a perfect harmony and presentation. You can really tell the love that the chefs put into every single roll that they make. The quantity is also very generous, and portions will put you in a satisfying coma afterwards. They have a lot of various menu items, none of which you can go wrong with selecting. Whether that’s noodles, soups, rice dishes, sushi rolls, or the underrated appetizer/starters (spicy edamame 🔥, seaweed salad, tempura) and desserts ( Bing Soo is better than any standalone place in Portland ). They also have a lot of interesting beverage and alcoholic choices. The environment is very family run and cozy, and the real beautiful orchids and plant decorations on each table are very nice touch. The soy sauce is also handmade? I could drink a whole bottle.

The service is always very warm, welcoming and responsive. They take care of you right and it doesn’t take much to feel familiar.

Shout out to the kalbi item on the menu, which is also better than any Korean restaurant I’ve been to in Portland. A place full of hidden gems and lovely individuals working hard in their community.

“Walk-up to order and pay before eating was nice so we didn't have to wait for a check to leave. The man at the counter was polite. Food was super yummy and my 6 year old said so and she is pretty picky so that's saying something... She also loved the cherry blossom tree and pretty lights they had set up. Very cute“

“I went here for the first time tonight (Friday, 6/30) at 5:15 PM. It was fabulous! Our server went out of the way with us, including looking into different types of tequila they have so my mom could have the perfect margarita. The food came out very quickly, our water was always full, and the ambiance was great. We had delicious chicken gyoza, shrimp gyoza, ebi tem, and chicken karaage don. It's some of the best Japanese food we've had in the Happy Valley/Clackamas area in a long time. We will definitely be back!“

We frequently eat at this location almost every week. The staff has never been anything short of perfect in every aspect. Our food is always made fresh on the spot.
The staff even know me by face and start my order the moment they see me and it's amazing.
Because of their amazing effort we always tip generously and acknowledge there great customer service skills. The chef is the embodiment of the title chef.

“I lived in Tokyo, and have had great sushi. So has my brother who lived with me in Tokyo. He thinks Sinju sushi, omakase-style prepared by Alicio, is as good as any he's had. I hesitate to say that, but only because I'm more cautious. Alicio treated us right; the nigiri was great. This is a first class place run by a first class guy.“

“I’ll admit that when I walked in I was not exactly encouraged by its style. But what Bentoz may lack it decoration it makes up for in the quality of its food. My 3 other family members had the chicken teriyaki and I had the bibimbap myself and it was really good. So good that on the first bite I literally said “Wow, this is really good” in the middle of the restaurant. Definitely recommend for anyone who happens to be staying/visiting in the area“

The chicken had great flavor but was a bit soft/ chewy and my brain kept questioning if it was truly chicken. But that could definitely be a ME issue. “While visiting Portland, I came across Momoji, a small sushi restaurant that turned out to be a great find. Even though it's not a big place, the quality of the food really stood out. The sushi rolls were fresh, flavorful, and made with care. My favorite was the Salem Roll, which had an awesome combination of ingredients and tasted fantastic. I also decided to try the sushi burrito since it was something different from my usual order. It was unique, packed with fresh ingredients, and much more filling than I expected. I ended up finishing the whole thing. The staff was friendly, my food came out quickly, and the overall experience was excellent. I always enjoy finding small local restaurants that put so much effort into their food, and this place definitely did. If you're in Portland and looking for good sushi, Momoji is worth checking out. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm back in Oregon to try even more from the menu.“

The chicken had such a good color and flavor and Plenty of rice. The other thing I really like about this place if the new folks the Pacific Northwest who've not tried teriyaki, this is exactly how it used to be 20+ years ago. I wish I would not have gotten caught up in all the hype of new places and more places like this survived the last decade.

I heard both Japanese and Korean in the kitchen and Spanish and Russian in the seating area. I also saw a very timid regular white guy playing with the Sriracha and unable to handle it with his Gatorade... Excusing himself leaving 80%of his meal finished. Really a fun throwback.“

“I was tried hibachi salmon last wednesday, because when i asked to the guy who take my order what menu is recommended? He said that salmon. But im still curious for the steak, and i coming today to order steak but i didn’t meet that guy. And both is the best, the salmon cooked well and the steak also good. “Nori is my favorite sushi in Portland. The prices are just right and the service is quick and kind. The people that work here are personable and attentive. I always get the spicy edamame and the Cherry Blossom roll. It’s the all time best sushi roll in my opinion. Please run, don’t walk, to Nori for a late lunch/dinner.“
