“Walked in on a Thursday night about 45 minutes to close and Sushi Ave did not disappoint! The restaurant was clean and the staff were all super friendly. The potstickers are crispy (I highly recommend!). We ordered multiple options to try it all and we were so happy we did because everything was amazing!“

“Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. I look forward to any trips I take across town from Vancouver to Tigard, and make a point to stop in and grab a bite.“

“A storefront teriyaki place with fine food and very nice, helpful staff. I really like their yakisoba, the noodles have a good consistency and the chicken is tender and flavorful. “This is a hidden away ? Gem if you like Japanese food! It is efficient with self order kiosks and service is fast! I ordered the Vegetable Yakisoba with extra vegetables on 2 different occasions. (Well worth the extra $3!) Teriyaki sauce is provided and set's off the flavors! They serve all sorts of food like Teryaki chicken, Fried rice and Ramen! Tbh - if I still ate meat, I would order the Teriyaki chicken!

The food has been consistent with each visit and they don't skimp on the portions! The owner stated " We like to have you walk out FULL AND HAPPY!" This is my New favorite spot to grab some ? noodles and I hope it will become yours too!

“It has been a long time since I’ve gone to a teriyaki restaurant because my wife has resisted it. Our friends wanted to go here and, I was excited, and my wife agreed. We both had the chicken teriyaki lunch special, which come with chicken teriyaki on a bed of white rice, a side of either sweet and sour chicken or three pot stickers, and a small side salad with a house dressing. I just assumed the sweet and sour chicken was what I receive in a Chinese restaurant. Boy was I wrong! It was like way over cooked fried chicken. It was so hard that it was difficult to eat and there was absolutely no sweet or sour flavor. My wife said the pot stickers were soft but did not taste very good. Fortunately, the teriyaki chicken was very good and adding the sauce to the rice made the rice very good. The house sauce on the salad was very good. The lunch special came with a soft drink and the entire lunch was $13.50. The lady behind the counter was very nice but speaks Japanese and very little English. I tried to tell her the chicken was almost inedible but she had no idea what I was saying. We do not live in Portland so there is almost no chance we will eat there again but I would recommend the chicken teriyaki with fried rice, which our friends had and they said it was very good.“

“My husband and I went there last night. I’ve been looking for a place that does chicken breast teriyaki. I’ve found it. Their teriyaki sauce is homemade, and it is so good. It has extra flavor. “They don't deliver. Communication is spotty with the language barrier. Would think more English would be known on other side of counter. Otherwise, food was very good.
I didn't see anyone else in the dining room. I hope my order of $45.00 helps in some way keep the doors open. Try this place.

“I’m from Hawaii, where I’ve enjoyed some of the best chicken katsu! I was excited to try this small teriyaki spot and it did not disappoint! The chicken katsu plate on Friday’s is only $10! Super delicious or as we like to say in Hawaii, “Ono”. ?? The chicken is cooked perfectly with a really good sweet and sour sauce that leaves you wanting more.

Aside from the food, the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, which adds to the whole experience. You can tell thatthey care about their customers and the quality of their food. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal, somewhere that is wallet friendly, and excellent service!

“Atmosphere is not bad, a touch spartan, but I liked the roominess … lovely instrumental jazz piped in at a good volume, lots of sunlight, and comfy chairs.The lone server/cook was busy, but welcoming and polite.I had the Chicken Katsu bento meal.It had a nice mix of items …The miso soup was on point!The broth was rich and flavorful.The salad was fresh and I liked the tangy mayo dressing.The shrimp tempura was perfectly cooked and tender, and I loved the Salem roll.I chose the Lychee Fizzy Chi sparkling water … loved it!My only disappointment was that the Chicken Katsu was a little overcooked … the thicker pieces of meat were good, but the thinner pieces were a little tough …Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would like to try more of the sushi rolls the next time I am in the area.

“I saw the negative reviews and was dismayed. BUT when we got there and saw the amount of people who were enjoying themselves. This amount of people would not have been and I was heartened by this. First off the service people. When we asked they were prompt. The sushi filled me up. The variety was astounding. I tried most of their different prepared vegetables dishes. Beef dishes as well. My wife ate her fill of various shellfish and other different kinds of seafood. The little dishes of ice cream was a nice touch for desert. It has a bit of everything for everybody. I highly recommend this restaurant. This is our favorite restaurant. Easy to find. Easy to get to. Lots of parking room.“

The fish is always super fresh and I have never gotten a headache from it. Sometimes other restaurants don’t serve the best quality fish and it has mercery which gives me headaches. Kevin the owner, loves his customers and believes in providing the best service paired with the freshest ingredients! He also carries hard to find fish like bluefin tuna, escolar and simply the best Uni we’ve ever had! I’m 100% positive if you go you will love it just as much as we do! We left just 15 minutes prior, But only because we could make it there only around as late as we got there. The food server was perfect and it's always fun to watch it get made in front of you. Clearly didn't know her menu and quoted (and charged) incorrect pricing for beer and even delivered the wrong beer. Nowhere on my receipt did it say the word "Sapporo", yet that's what I got. Her response was "Oh, well, you asked about an entirely different beer." Yeah, I did ask... so? I didn't really understand that one either?!?!Know your menu... “I enjoy Koba Grill for its quick lunch options, and this is my first time at this location. Although it has a different owner, the food quality is still great, and they provide free self-serve ice cream. Unlike other locations, they don't include gyoza and a free drink with the lunch specials, and the prices here are a bit higher. However, the service is still good, and there's ample parking available.“
