“First time here but it won’t be the last! The pho is incredible…the best I’ve had so far here in Vancouver! The meat is so tender, the veggies are fresh and the broth is to die for!! I cannot wait to go back and try another menu item!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!“

“Taste of the spicy chicken was excellent. In real estate it's location, location, location. In a restaurant, it's taste, taste, taste. Big taste!!!

I asked for it served with less sauce and no rice.

They were very accommodating. Sauce was served on the side.

“We actually got take out but the restaurant was clean, well decorated, and the people working were pleasant and polite. Food was made quickly, and the food was excellent. I’m disappointed I didn’t know this place was there until I got a random craving for teriyaki today. We got salmon and chicken plus some pot stickers… everything was hot, crispy, flavorful, cooked to perfection, meat was juicy, I just can’t get over how perfect everything was. Usually you find at least one thing that isn’t par but they really nailed it. I’ve been living here for three years and never knew KC teriyaki was around but we will going back since we are picky eaters and lean towards fresh, light and healthy (with some guilty taste-leaning preferences sprinkled in.)“

“Don’t listen to the bad reviews. I’ve been going to eat there At least once or twice a month for years. My suggestion is as you go in and eat there. It’s small, but it’s worth it. They are known for their chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki, which is very good. I don’t know if they’re known for the ribs because I’m not silly enough to Order ribs because I am smart enough to know I need to go to A place that specializes in barbecue ribs. I’m going there for teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef. They hit that out of the park and bring you a nice large Plate with a good amount of chicken or beef with fresh salad with that really good tasting Asian dressing, and two balls Of rice and a Free egg drop soup which is very good.
All I can say is, don’t listen to the negative reviews. I have never been disappointed there and I always walk out very full and satisfied. Everyone there is intensely nice and no one’s trying to take you a ride for what you pay. I’ve never ordered takeout, but I’m sure the quality of the beef and chicken is still the same, but I can’t address the takeout because I never done that. I like eating in the restaurant because the atmosphere is relaxed even though it is very small.“

“A friend turned me on to this little gem. Food is amazing but it really could really use a facelift. It looks like a 1970’s break room inside (wood panels on walls and old particle board tables).The food is punching way above what the atmosphere suggests. Give them a chance.“

“I think what I like most about Joy Teriyaki is the food and presentation; it’s freshly-prepared and delivered on a plate, not a cheap plastic bowl or container. The dining room is clean without the loud distractions (the tv is muted, and the overhead soundtrack mellow). I was surprised to feel like I “slowed down” to prepare a real cooked meal, rather than handed a bunch of reheated rice and warmed up frozen chicken. The service was polite and prompt, going out of their way to meet the dietary needs of some elderly patrons who joined me in the dining room. If you’re looking for a slower pace with better food and polite service, I think you’ll be as surprised as I was.“

“Popped into the new location in downtown Gresham tonight. It’s so nice to see the cuisine options evolving. We tried a handful of items and were very pleased with the quality, flavor and value we received. The XLB were savory, deliciously soupy and tender. The clear shrimp dumpling (har gow) were plump. the wrapper was soft, smooth and not slippery at all! The pork shu mai were packed with perfectly seasoned steamed pork. Paired with the chili crisp, these were so good. The bbq pork bao were next level. The filling was moist and flavorful while the outer bun itself was fluffy, soft and delicate. Perfect Combo! The crispy pork belly was exactly as described. Super crispy! The meat was tender and flavorful. We were also given a chocolate mousse to try. boy was I pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t too sweet but was so fluffy and perfectly chocolatey. Hap steam is quaint and cozy. Few seats inside may be an issue for bigger parties. Restaurant is clean and staff is very kind. We will be back.“
