We chose medium but it was a bit hot for our liking so will choose mild next time.“

The old Noraneko space it resides in has been simplified as well, making the space easier to be in while maintaining its dignity as a spot to get a solid bowl of ramen. It is cliche for someone like me, a 30 year old nerd, to say “I’ve had a lot of ramen” but it’s true. Across Japan and throughout Portland. I was quickly seated and ordered the Sake Aisuru Don and edamame. The Sake Aisuru Don (salmon sashimi, salmon belly, and minced salmon over rice) was extremely fresh. The meats were so refreshing and filling. The soft and silky salmon meats made my tastebuds sing. The edamame was portioned well and the light salt was nice. I'm pleased to have had an experience that makes me want to return!“

They have great cocktails, a wide variety of Japanese spirits, and great non-alcoholic options. The only negative is that they were out of coloring sheets for my 4 year old, but they did have crayons and we made it work with some paper from our car. We ordered some take out for my husband and it was packaged neatly in very practical and reusable containers. The interior is well decorated and it’s a great atmosphere. “This place is really fun! The vibes are great and they will not rush you out the door (defeating the point of an Izakaya) It's a bit pricey and while the food is good. Its not ground breaking, but if you want actual Izakaya vibes this is the only place I've found in all of Oregon let alone Portland that fits the bill.“
“This place offers a small menu with delicious ramen. We tried the tonkatsu ramen which is filled with meat and a medium poached egg. There's some black garlic oil to amp up the flavor. I still prefer soft/medium boiled egg for ramen as it's easier to eat. The overall flavor was good. Don't forget the crispy potstickers. The atmosphere is cozy and hip with living plants on the walls and Japanese fabric framed like art. A full bar is centered in the restaurant but we didn't have any drinks.“

“The team that works here is so incredible! They are all so sweet and always go above and beyond. You can tell they genuinely care and want to have happy customers. This is a fun, quick, and chill spot to stop in or get to-go. The Thai tea is so delicious and refreshing! Their onion rings are also a personal favorite! Super yummy!! The Korean cheese dogs are also great! I don’t eat chicken, but everyone tells me it’s fantastic because of how they marinade it and the sauces have a lot of flavor. The manager and team are seriously so kind and the best!“
