“The best gluten free ramen. The service and atmosphere are perfect here and I will continue to visit anytime I’m in town. 10/10 ❤️ Wish they had more locations!!“

“Was told about this “secret” restaurant with little signage, weird hours, that you had to get there before opening to secure a seat. Excited to try, we got there 15 min prior to opening and indeed, 7-10 before opening, we saw someone going in so we opened the door and they were seating people. By opening time they were nearly full. Our excitement was seemingly validated by the opening rush.
Atmosphere was clean, staff were friendly. The menu looked delicious. The food however, hmm. We got their signature ramen, which is $18.50. It was ok. The broth wasn’t as rich as other ramens I’ve had in the area but had some unique flavors. The cubed pork belly in the soup was tender but slightly bland. The sliced chashu was ok but only 1-2 pieces in each bowl. There were limited veggies in the soup too, I prefer more. Didn’t like the fine angel-hair noodles, I prefer a thicker noodles at other places. Overall the ramen at FuddoYama or Lucky Cat is a lot better. Even Ramen Ryoma inside Uwajimaya was better, despite them not even having tonkatsu.
We also got some sides. A small bowl of rice was $5. Edamame was $8 which is pricey, but when it arrived, it was the smallest edamame serving I’ve ever seen. There was literally a child’s size handful only. $8 felt like robbery. The other sides, fried tofu and karrage chicken were delicious, but also priced at nearly an entree but the portion size was on the smaller size. Spent over $90 for two adults and a young child who only ate a couple sides and didn’t leave full. Something is wrong with that picture.
Overall, was meh. Probably won’t return. Overhyped and overpriced. I’m all for hidden gems but I don’t understand the buzz about this place. I eat ramen 1-2 times a week and have tried I think every place that serves ramen on the west side. The best tasting ramen and best value in town is Lucky Cat ramen full stop. And it’s only $12.
All you other restaurants need to step up your game.“

“We’ve been coming to Wu-Ron’s Ramen for a while now—probably over 20 visits—and it never disappoints. It’s a small, tucked-away spot that we only share with a handful of people because we love being able to stop in and enjoy a fresh, consistently amazing bowl of ramen without the crowd. The quality is always spot on, no matter the day. The waitress always remembers our order, which makes it feel like home, and the cook always greets us with a smile. That kind of warmth and consistency is rare, and it’s one of the many reasons we keep coming back. Wu-Ron’s is one of those hidden gems you want to keep to yourself, but honestly—it’s too good not to recommend!“

“Location: located in a newer well-appointed strip mall in the Cedar Mills area, this is a very nice location with a little bit of swag. I can see it being a great place to take a date, or some close friends to have good conversation, good food, and maybe some good drinks
Ambiance: it's trying to be Japanese izakaya like-nightlife, and does an OK job. It can be a little loud, but I was sitting at the counter near the cooks. And for me one element of it was a little bit awkward. As is often the case in Japanese establishments, they throw around a lot of Japanese words when people enter or leave the establishment as well as when orders come in. Meant to give an authentic dynamic to the restaurant, it's a little awkward when every Japanese word has a Spanish accent and cooks speaking Spanish most of the time (I speak Japanese fluently, lived there for 5 years). Don't hate--kind of felt like fingernails on a chalkboard to me...oops. Think of it this way, when I go to get good chinese noodles, I like to hear Chinese spoken behind the counter. When I go get Bulgogi beef, I'd like to hear Korean spoken in the kitchen. And when I go to a good taco truck, I want to hear Spanish oozing at the back of that truck!! That's my point!! Enough.
Service: the service was excellent. The maybe the highlight of my experience. I came in late, before it was closing. They were more than happy to give me a seat offered me plenty of time to order and eat. I was pleasantly surprised. Very helpful, very accommodating, very relaxing.
Food: the food was quite good. I've eaten Japanese food literally all over the globe. The Karage was quite good with a nice crust and flavor.
The Agedashi-dofu was good but not great. This one is hard to do and I find it's all over the flavor map in America. On a scale of 1 to 5 it was probably a 3.5. The pictures show portion size versus dislike of the food excepting the tofu. I chose not to finish that one. Very very good portions.
The bottom line would I eat here again? The answer is yes. I would like to go back and try some other offerings on the menu, especially the ramen. But I almost fear going back for that, because so many places do Ramen well nowadays they have stiff competition. Go check it out, especially if you want to sit down and chat with a couple good friends or a nice partner.“

“Lucky to be one of the 100 ppl on Day 1 Grand Opening! Staff are awesome, food is always On Point! My fav is the fiery spicy “Gekikara” 😍. Came back next day for dinner, even better! They will soon have their liquor license, but ample parking at night, makes this Comfort Food place, a new GEM! Thank you!“

“Really great spot! Authentic Japanese food, and several menu items that you don't see as much in the US like mazesoba and curry rice. The chicken mazesoba had a real depth of smokey flavor, and the curry was rich and hearty. Recently started working nearby and plan to keep going back and trying everything on the menu!“

“Their black garlic shoyu is sooo good! I love their broth and the egg was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend and I were craving ramen and ended up ordering since they had a special bogo deal. Amazing ramen and it’s at a great price. Definitely hits the spot when I need some good soup.“

“I thought I made a mistake when I entered this place - a little campy for me. Garlic T Ramen was excellent, as were the dumplings and seaweed salad. Portions were also great. Service was fast for this hungry guy eating by himself. Not too busy. I hope I can return again.“

“First time visit last night with six of us and they are very nicely opened up the toast restaurant and let us sit in there and we had such a nice evening and the waiter was so friendly and wonderful and really helped us out to get acquainted with the offerings we tried the vegetarian potstickers and also the various vegetarian tacos which were really good. Later we each had a vegetarian Ramen and every single one was delicious and I especially liked the one with the tofu and the hard-boiled egg and the spinach. They brought a small container of warm sake for me which I really liked with a tiny cup I got to choose. OverallI gave it a big 10+ and I would definitely eat there again and probably will go back pretty soon. The main thing is to try to find a time when the parking is not completely full in the area be prepared to park a ways away and walk which is good for us so it really wasn’t a problem.“

“The husband and I were on a ramen rampage, and the weather was our perfect excuse. Then, out of nowhere, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The service was spot-on, the food arrived in record time, and that ramen? Sheer perfection. The broth was a flavor bomb, the chashu was tender and divine, and those noodles? Freshly made and sublime. We left feeling like we just discovered ramen nirvana.“

“This hands down is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland OR. It the same quality of other top spots in the US like Nobu , O-Ya , and Morimoto . The location is perfect located in the Pearl district. The chefs are high quality and the fish is extremely fresh. They have a great but simple flavor approach. The service is warm, helpful, and appreciative. I always ask for Joy as she is a true professional and loves providing an exceptional experience on every visit.“

“Went here on a whim with a colleague and the atmosphere is gorgeous and refined but has a taste of izakaya to it! The food was absolutely delicious! I had the shrimp tempura maki and the wagyu (from Hokkaido, not American wagyu) nigiri and it was perfect! My colleague had the sashimi bento and bao bun. She fell in love with the bao bun and miso soup that came with the bento. Staff are super nice, attentive, and ready to answer any questions about the menu. I will definitely be back!“

“Came for Nacho Week and they killed it. Went to 10+ spots and Boke was the best. Chips were crisp and not greasy, sauce was on point, meat was tender and juicy. The whole experience was awesome. Dude at the register was rad. Never been here but will be back again! Nice work Boke team!“

“We had the best experience this evening at Nikki! Amazing food and presentation. Our waitress was AMAZING (wish I had caught her name) and went above and beyond to make it a great experience for all of us, including my 9 month old daughter. They also take food allergens seriously, and I had no worries when ordering because our waitress was very attentive and reassuring how careful their kitchen is. The pricing definitely reflects the quality you are getting, and overall a great dining experience. Can't wait to go back!“

“So far I've eaten at 3 out of 6 of the carts here (I'm including the Pour House in the count even though it's a bar).
Rollin' Fresh - Very good sushi with a twist (burrito style!)
Bajala - Excellent tacos, very fresh, with lots of flavor. (Separate review on their google maps entry)
Village Kitchen - so far my favorite Burmese food in the Northwest district and there something like 4 other Burmese restaurants.
I'll get to the rest soon enough.“

“First time in, no idea what to order. Stacy was our server and helped me pick something. It was delicious. Oregon Deluxe with chicken. Service was excellent. Warm and welcoming. We also had service provided by Marcel. Very polite and attentive. Definitely going back. If you've never had the ramen experience, this is the place to go. I was taken by a seasoned ramen enthusiast. He loves it so much, he's eating there again tonight!“
