They have the most delicious sandwiches anywhere. I had Carlton Ham on ciabatta bread with bacon and fig jam--perfection! A half sanwich with a half salad and a glass of wine was the perfect lunch. In fact, my friend and I loved it so much that we had lunch here twice during our trip. The corn chowder was absolutely fantastic—so creamy with just the right amount of seasoning. My friend enjoyed the ½ Turkey Sandwich, while I devoured the Chicken Cashew Salad, which was fresh and delicious. The broccoli cheddar soup was just okay, but the tomato vegetable soup was a standout, according to my friend. And let’s not forget the in-house wheat bread—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to our meal. Our waitress, Andrea, was incredible! It's in McMinnville, Oregon in the historic core. What keeps its character is that it both celebrates the heritage if their building, and integrates that into a unique environment that serves some pretty awesome local ice cream.

It can get cramped inside, but if you take a brief moment, look around and enjoy the art, the beauty of the intact early 1900's artifacts and decor, complete with self-playing piano.

The staff is friendly, extremely busy, and absolutely patient with the often consistent bustling crowds that come, even at night, in a weekday in summer. There's limited seating outdoors, weather permitting. However, don't forget to ask for that waffle cone.

I won't get into specific ice cream flavors, but they are not ones you typically find and national chains. Nothing too exotic, and its all recognizable to the American palette. Bubble gum is one of those examples, but you'll find your favorite for sure.

“A lovely experience in this farmhouse setting in wine country. We ordered the caviar and it was well allocated with understated buckwheat miniature waffles. The amuse bouche was a cute bite of flavorful mousse inside a tiny crispy cone. A nice start to the dedication of the chef. The mushroom tartlets were delicious and well worth ordering. The soup was stunning as well. Something that added a little surprise was the Green Salad with Lardons. The dressing very tasty. The duck plating was something to mention. Beautifully executed. Our table mate said the Beef Stroganoff was the best they have ever had. The drinks were nicely inventive and overall if you seek fine dining this should definitely be added to your list. We ordered off the menu and did not do the tasting menu. That will be left for another day along with the trolley cheese cart selections.“

“Hit the McMenamins Pub, McMinnville, Oregon on a recent visit and had a Capt. Neon Burger with tots and a Dirty Shirley.

The Capt. Neon Burger shows up looking unapologetically hearty. A soft, lightly toasted bun cradles a thick, juicy beef patty cooked to a satisfying char on the outside while staying tender inside. Crisp lettuce and fresh red onion add crunch and bite, while the bacon brings smoky richness that anchors the whole stack. It’s a straightforward burger done confidently...no gimmicks, just solid execution. The toothpick through the top is a small detail, but it reinforces that classic pub-burger presentation.

The tater tots on the side are exactly what you want them to be: golden, crunchy on the outside, fluffy inside, and clearly fried with care. Dunked into the generous pool of ketchup, they’re nostalgic in the best way

“Unbelievable. A hidden McMinnville gem. In business for 17 years. They make their own tortilla chips which were unlike anything I have ever tasted. Light, warm and crisp. The pork burrito was plentiful (2 meals for an old guy), very moist and tender. Rice and beans were home cooked, fresh and delicious. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Because of the high ceilings with exposed beams your conversation stays at your table as there is no echo. Prices were very reasonable. You may sit inside or out. Go!“
