“A Truly Wonderful Experience! I took my aunt and uncle to Nonna Emilia’s for Father’s Day to celebrate my uncle, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with incredible hospitality. The customer service was second to none, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. We even had the pleasure of meeting the new owner, Sheri, who personally came to our table to introduce herself and make sure everything was perfect. That personal touch meant so much and speaks volumes about how much she cares about her guests. And the food… absolutely outstanding! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can truly tell the original cook is back because the quality is exceptional. I’ll be honest. There was a period when the food and service had declined, and we stopped coming. We had no idea the restaurant was under new ownership until our visit last Sunday, when our server shared the exciting news with us. We were so glad we decided to give Nonna Emilia’s another chance because what an incredible turnaround! The original cook is back, the food is outstanding, the service is exceptional, and this beloved restaurant is better than ever. “We have been to the brick and mortar restaurant for breakfast three times now. Every time the place is clean and the service is quick, friendly, and attentive, regardless of the server. The food is fantastic and reflects a true love of cooking. I have had the juevos rancheros, the chilequiles poblanos, and the quesadilla. Their chips are made to order and come out hot, and the standard salsa served with them is roasted and well flavored. The prices are very reasonable and the menu does state that chips and salsa are not complimentary, and in this instance with the quality it's understandable. As a side note, the decorating is fantastic and provides wonderful ambiance! Glad to have found this little gem and can wait to come back for lunch or dinner service!“

“The food is rather good. That being said, I did have an issue with my food (got a crispy chicken instead of a grilled chicken with a Gluten-free bun). When I contacted them about the issue, they offered me a refund or to remake it for that day or when I'm able to come in. I asked them to remake it when I come in next.

I came back in a week later and they remade it. Very good customer service.

The decor however is a bit older, but it still works to this day. It's less avant-garde corporate and more classic.“

“Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. I look forward to any trips I take across town from Vancouver to Tigard, and make a point to stop in and grab a bite.“

I got the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen and despite their website saying it was $17.50, it was only $17 when I went :) The waiter came and checked on me frequently, the lighting was cozy and warm, and everything was clean. My husband and I dropped in for our anniversary and we didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat us so quickly even with the rush they had. The food was incredible! Out of the ordinary and very delectable. My favorite is the huckleberry oat crisp with foraged porcini.

“I writhing this to let everyone know that Oyatsupan Bakers (specifically Beaverton store) is my go to place. A little background, my wife last Christmas went through a very serious set of surgeries that kept her in the hospital for a month. We preordered the Christmas set thinking we were both going to be able to enjoy it. Unfortunately I was the only one to fully enjoy the set (which was amazing btw) when I picked it up I was upset that I couldn't share it with my wife. Fast forward to today we preordered the 4th of July set . When I picked it up they remembered us! The woman who handed it to me said she hopes that my wife can enjoy it this time because she recalled our previous business. It was such a kind gesture I was speechless and could only say thank you. I have never felt more seen and cared for from any business Ive visited before. So THANK YOU Oyatsupan in Beaverton you made my day and you have a customer for life! 💗“

“We came in about an hour before close, they welcomed us in and let us pick our seats. We were attended to promptly and got our orders in. The chef came out to ask if I was aware of what I was ordering (beef pho with only tripe, since I love tripe and my kids also love it and always steal most of it from me). I kindly let him know we did know and appreciated him making sure we knew what we were ordering. They seemed quite delighted that my young children (7 and 10) were enjoying the tripe so much. Towards the end, my daughter tried a piece of jalapeño that I had added and had been sitting in the soup and had been diluted. She decided that it was not spicy and brazenly attempted to eat a slice of raw jalapeño that came with the pho as well and immediately regretted it. She was in tears and the server was so nice and offered her candies to help with the spice. When she noticed it wasn't helping while I was trying to pay, she got the chef and he came back and gave my daughter milk that helped a bunch. They did not even charge extra, though I did offer. As we were leaving, my daughter gratefully looked up at me and said "mama, they're so kind" with her teary eyes and a smile. We will 100% be back. Super tasty food at a good price but most importantly, such lovely staff members. I am beyond grateful to them for our experience tonight.“
