“We had Noho's cater our wedding and it was definitely the right move! Super flexible, took care of everything; Their team came to the venue vans loaded, set up, served, cleaned up... it was all included. We had them do our bar too and they did custom his/her drinks for us too. The team is incredibly nice and super flexible. We found out later that they actually filled everyone's water before dinner too. And of course, everything was delish. Our 'ohana was raving about the food. If you're looking for a taste of home for your event this is it.“

“First time here and we will definitely be back again. My husband and daughter stopped in for some shave ice. Not too long after, my daughter accidentally dropped hers, leading to lots of tears. The person working came out, unbeknownst to us, with a replacement and reassurance. Thank you, it was very kind.“

“Super nice counterstaff, delicious takeaway food in a tiny hole in the wall kitchen. Bring a bag and be prepared to eat elsewhere, and watch your step inside there is an unexpected little step just inside the door so be careful entering and exiting! One party at a time, it is a really tiny little place... But you'll be glad you stopped by 😃“

“Recently had my second foray into Hale Pele. Overall, a fantastic experience that is better than nearly every tiki bar I have had to pleasure of haunting. However, the quality of the drinks were a step below my first visit (2024). We tried 15 drinks between the five of us. The Corn n' Oil in particular was a big miss. It looked and tasted like a glass full of ice and 1/2 ounce of bitters. There was no rum, certainly not an aged Bajan rum. I inquired with the waitress, and got nowhere. The wait between drinks and the frequency of visits by staff was also considerably longer than last time. Our fellow patrons, however, were wonderful as always.“

“When living in Portland this was my default place to connect with a friend, or when I wanted to be around people while also reading or doing some work. The kava is always excellent, with minimal sleep disturbance like some of them can cause me.“

“I tried for lunch one day and went back with my wife the next day so she could try. I will say first time I got the Macho King sauce it was not as spicy as I led to believe, but the next time it was hella spicy. Delicious either way, but may be a Russian roulette situation so be careful! The fries and whatever orange sauce they provide with them are outrageously good too. Very friendly staff.“

“We had our Company Christmas party at Ohanna Hawaiian Cafe and everyone that worked there was so gracious and helpful. We had a mix of ages and everyone found something to their liking on their menu. The food is fresh, delicious and huge servings. I had the Kahlúa pork with mac salad and white rice. “A real gem in the university district! Having been to Hawaii and eaten authentic plate lunch I can assure you the other reviews are incorrect. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is prepared well, tastes excellent and is priced very reasonably for the large portions. Something hard to find in the area. Another rarity is the owners take the time to get to know their customers. You can expect to be asked if you want "the usual" if you dine more than a few times. It is refreshing to see hard working small business owners still making it work.“

“Never written a review before but gotta share that this was super good. Honestly better than it needed to be and I’m thrilled about. I had the kalbi chicken with Mac. The dish was simple, no frills, but the cook on the chicken was excellent. The flavor was delish. Even the rice was perfect.

“It was great. Good food. We have a confusion about where we were supossed to stand to order so we had a person get helped before us. Other than that, great experience and great food. Worth a try for sure. You can tell the Bartender liked making the drinks. They were gorgeous and well done.“

“I highly recommend their chicken! I ordered all four types Honolulu, Kilauea, Huli-Huli, and Molokai regardless of the flavor the chicken was delicious. Each piece was tender and filled with flavor. You can taste a piece of the islands in every bite.“
