“Don’t judge this place by the outside of the building because inside we were treated by great food, service, and atmosphere! We were blown away by the service as our waitress had phenomenal energy and was honestly one of the most genuinely nice people I’ve ever met!! We tried the Tom Yum, madman curry, and ginger stir fry and found the taste and portions to be exelent! We will absolutely be back next time we are headed through Salem area!“

“I came to pick up some food for my ailing wife. I was paying and I left a tip, but before he would hand me my food, he rudely asked, “DID YOU LEAVE A TIP?” And wouldn’t let go of the sack until I gave an answer. He didn’t even bother to look at the receipt that I had just signed to see that I did leave a tip. I find this very rude behavior…we always leave generous tips when we go inside to sit down and dine… But to ask is very rude behavior.. I did leave 15% for takeout as well but since he asked, I really wish I would not have. Perhaps someone could school him and tell him this is not good customer service.“

“I can’t say enough good things about Mint Leaf Bistro! We were on the hunt for a new Indian restaurant, and thanks to my husband, we found a gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is absolutely delicious, and the service was just spectacular! Every bite was a delight. this is by far the best Indian food we’ve had in a long time. Plus, the lassis were so refreshing on a very hot day, and the portions were very generous. I am excited to have my leftovers for lunch tomorrow, at work! We will be coming back often!“

“We were in Salem for a concert at the Elsinore Theatre on Friday, November 1st, and were lucky enough to find the Wild Pear, to get something to eat before concert. I wanted to try everything on the menu, it sounded so good! I ordered the Butternut soup & Pear salad. Both were fabulous, & I can't wait to drive back to Salem to check out other items on the menu. “Hands down the most satisfying Chinese food I've eaten. Smells good, tastes good, served hot with a smile. Fills you up, but not for 5 minutes.. fills you up and your leftovers actually become lunch tomorrow not your second dinner and they are still tasty without rubber or soggy breading!!

So why an overall score of 4 you ask??? There are a couple improvements that can be made fairly easy that would make this place a 5 star in my book. 1. Gotta do something about the temperature of the dining area. AC needs to either be fixed or installed.
2. Crackers, if you sell soup crackers should be available. The egg flour soup is great, but without crackers you can not enjoy a bowl of it before your food arrives because it is served hot (which is perfect) but some crackers would fix that.
3. Vegetable varieties...add some varieties like Broccoli and Cauliflower to the mix. Something substantial in our plate.

All doable things on my opnion.

“It is hard to find good breakfast in this area and Cafe 22 hits the spot. I love their peaches, the pancake thickness isnt overly cakey and hard to swallow. The bacon is thick and cooked just right. The raspberry jam is real raspberry jam. The water mentioned in the another review is because they are on a well so it does taste little bit more tinnish, a lemon wedge in my water cured that. Stopped by the fruit stand for fresh strawberries, on the spendy side, but oh the flavor, absolutely nothing beats an Oregon strawberry. Had I known they did strawberry short cake, I woulda skipped the breakfast and went straight to the fruit stand.“

“A good take n' bake pizza, so if you have a little extra time you can pick these up and in 10-12 minutes have a hot pizza. During October they have a Jack o lantern pizza.

Vegetarian options: They have dozens of different veggie toppings.

Dietary restrictions: My daughter has a friend with allergies to gluten and this was one place that can accommodate her.

Kid-friendliness: They have mini pizza kits so that your kiddos can put their pizzas together. That's what I would always get my girls.

They had GF batter for frying (a shared fryer, so not recommended for Celiac but I just have a gluten sensitivity) which was also a special treat. They went above and beyond and the sushi was excellent and fresh!“
