“I came to pick up some food for my ailing wife. I was paying and I left a tip, but before he would hand me my food, he rudely asked, “DID YOU LEAVE A TIP?” And wouldn’t let go of the sack until I gave an answer. He didn’t even bother to look at the receipt that I had just signed to see that I did leave a tip. I find this very rude behavior…we always leave generous tips when we go inside to sit down and dine… But to ask is very rude behavior.. I did leave 15% for takeout as well but since he asked, I really wish I would not have. Perhaps someone could school him and tell him this is not good customer service.“

We had orange chicken, green curry, swear and sour, and chow mein and every single dish was authentic tasting and so very fresh!! A must to check out!!!“

“we had A waitress named Shana I believe. and she was terrible. she never asked if we needed refills on our drinks. she never stepped by and asked how our appetizer was it took us an hour to get our food. and when our appetizer came out 20 minutes later it was the blooming onion. it was cold and it was soggy. we're not even from here, but I have never encountered such a terrible customer service experience. not only that there were four whole tables in the entire restaurant... so there is no excuse for being slow and rude.“

“This is by far the best Love Love Teriyaki restaurant in Salem! I'm disappointed whenever I go anywhere else. I appreciate they will trade the salad in the chicken Teriyaki dinner for steamed vegetables, which is my favorite meal. The gyoza and wontons are delicious, fully stuffed, and crisp but never overly greasy and they include their own dipping sauce with the gyoza, which I think is soy and ginger and yummy. Their Sushi is great! Usually we do takeout, and we never wait long, but we've eaten in as well and it has always been clean with a nice atmosphere that's quiet and bright with big windows. The staff is always friendly and nice.“

“Disclaimer, I didn't eat the food myself as I'm plant based. Dennis and Auntie makes it homey. When I look at the pictures and food, it feels authentic and rich, yummies families eat. Portions are great. Definitely smells tempting while I'm enroute to deliver these. Ordered BBQ pork skewers for my Greek friend and he can't stop raving about it. He asked me to get more for him on his birthday. Got the pork adobo for another friend. OMG! Delicious! He's a born and raised Louisiana chef so quite judgy when it comes to food. “It is hard to find good breakfast in this area and Cafe 22 hits the spot. I love their peaches, the pancake thickness isnt overly cakey and hard to swallow. The bacon is thick and cooked just right. The raspberry jam is real raspberry jam. The water mentioned in the another review is because they are on a well so it does taste little bit more tinnish, a lemon wedge in my water cured that. Stopped by the fruit stand for fresh strawberries, on the spendy side, but oh the flavor, absolutely nothing beats an Oregon strawberry. Had I known they did strawberry short cake, I woulda skipped the breakfast and went straight to the fruit stand.“

“Hands down the most satisfying Chinese food I've eaten. Smells good, tastes good, served hot with a smile. Fills you up, but not for 5 minutes.. fills you up and your leftovers actually become lunch tomorrow not your second dinner and they are still tasty without rubber or soggy breading!!

So why an overall score of 4 you ask??? There are a couple improvements that can be made fairly easy that would make this place a 5 star in my book. 1. Gotta do something about the temperature of the dining area. AC needs to either be fixed or installed.
2. Crackers, if you sell soup crackers should be available. The egg flour soup is great, but without crackers you can not enjoy a bowl of it before your food arrives because it is served hot (which is perfect) but some crackers would fix that.
3. Vegetable varieties...add some varieties like Broccoli and Cauliflower to the mix. Something substantial in our plate.

All doable things on my opnion.

“Staff was prompt and responsive. I ordered the Prime Rib Special. It came out remarkably fast. Medium rare as requested. Unfortunately the baked potato was over done and yet cool. The prime rib was lukewarm. The horseradish sauce was off- I can’t tell why but it had a peculiar flavor that should not have been there. Seasoning of the prime rib was on point and so was the zip sauce. I wasn’t feeling up to potential confrontation so when they asked how the food was I just said good. With prime rib it’s hard because if they warmed it then it might not have come back medium rare…also there was no steak knife but again I didn’t ask“
