“I came to pick up some food for my ailing wife. I was paying and I left a tip, but before he would hand me my food, he rudely asked, “DID YOU LEAVE A TIP?” And wouldn’t let go of the sack until I gave an answer. He didn’t even bother to look at the receipt that I had just signed to see that I did leave a tip. I find this very rude behavior…we always leave generous tips when we go inside to sit down and dine… But to ask is very rude behavior.. I did leave 15% for takeout as well but since he asked, I really wish I would not have. Perhaps someone could school him and tell him this is not good customer service.“

“Food was delicious and everyone that worked there was friendly and genuinely cared if we were satisfied. It is a very long wait, so don’t go if you need to be in and out fast. It’s a small restaurant and they are very busy. We really enjoyed the pancakes. They were fluffy and fresh. Will definitely visit again!“

“we had A waitress named Shana I believe. and she was terrible. she never asked if we needed refills on our drinks. she never stepped by and asked how our appetizer was it took us an hour to get our food. and when our appetizer came out 20 minutes later it was the blooming onion. it was cold and it was soggy. we're not even from here, but I have never encountered such a terrible customer service experience. not only that there were four whole tables in the entire restaurant... so there is no excuse for being slow and rude.“

“This is by far the best Love Love Teriyaki restaurant in Salem! I'm disappointed whenever I go anywhere else. I appreciate they will trade the salad in the chicken Teriyaki dinner for steamed vegetables, which is my favorite meal. The gyoza and wontons are delicious, fully stuffed, and crisp but never overly greasy and they include their own dipping sauce with the gyoza, which I think is soy and ginger and yummy. Their Sushi is great! Usually we do takeout, and we never wait long, but we've eaten in as well and it has always been clean with a nice atmosphere that's quiet and bright with big windows. The staff is always friendly and nice.“

“Disclaimer, I didn't eat the food myself as I'm plant based. Dennis and Auntie makes it homey. When I look at the pictures and food, it feels authentic and rich, yummies families eat. Portions are great. Definitely smells tempting while I'm enroute to deliver these. Ordered BBQ pork skewers for my Greek friend and he can't stop raving about it. He asked me to get more for him on his birthday. Got the pork adobo for another friend. OMG! Delicious! He's a born and raised Louisiana chef so quite judgy when it comes to food. Definitely, ordering some dishes for my visiting family!“

“One of my husband and I’s FAVORITE places to dine together. Their waitstaff are always incredibly sweet, accommodating and knowledgeable. Their portions are generous,,,I always leave with a Togo box and a smile. I love going during the week when they are less busy,,, however, I get the hype and they are well worth the wait if there is one. 10/10 ladies. 🫶🏼 Thank you for another great meal and experience. “Fabulous evening with friends before Christmas. The decorations are warm and welcoming along with having the talented pianist at the grand piano. I had the most delicious seafood pasta ever. Large prawns and sweet scallops with homemade pasta was scrumptious. My husband had lobster tail on beet risotto. A little skeptical we all had a taste and it was delicious, too. We appreciate Mo’s graciousness and celebrate his almost 35 years in Salem. Our server Stevie, was efficient, friendly and took great care of us. Best restaurant in Salem.“

“We were in Salem for a concert at the Elsinore Theatre on Friday, November 1st, and were lucky enough to find the Wild Pear, to get something to eat before concert. I wanted to try everything on the menu, it sounded so good! I ordered the Butternut soup & Pear salad. Both were fabulous, & I can't wait to drive back to Salem to check out other items on the menu. We had awesome service and were greeted & shown to a table right away. You will not be disappointed! I will definitely be back, & wish you were closer to Vancouver, WA!!“

“One of our go to places! I absolutely love their shrimp fried rice. It’s light, flavorful and always tastes so fresh. My husband gets the beef with mushrooms and fried rice and loves it too. “One of the best Thai restaurants I have had in Oregon so far.

Wonderful service. I regularly go here for the Thai tea, which is always smooth and tastes fantastic. The tea is brewed well, flavored well, balanced well. I have traveled all over the country and would rank this Thai tea as top five in flavor and consistency. Their food is also delicious. It is clearly made with love. Fried rice is moist, savory, not greasy at all. I am picky about meat and texture. Their meat is well cooked and prepared. The noodles are perfect texture. The rice. Ive tried everything on the menu at this point. The vegetables are cooked perfectly, not too soft or hard, has their fresh flavor, not overpowered by spice. Delicious. Zucchini and eggplant are firm and soft, not soggy.

Curries are delicious. Service is kind. They get really busy sometimes, but never rude and they do all they can to be timely inside or when one orders to go. Lunch special is $12 and you get 2 gyoza, with yummy dipping sauce. ♡“

“It is hard to find good breakfast in this area and Cafe 22 hits the spot. I love their peaches, the pancake thickness isnt overly cakey and hard to swallow. The bacon is thick and cooked just right. The raspberry jam is real raspberry jam. The water mentioned in the another review is because they are on a well so it does taste little bit more tinnish, a lemon wedge in my water cured that. Stopped by the fruit stand for fresh strawberries, on the spendy side, but oh the flavor, absolutely nothing beats an Oregon strawberry. Had I known they did strawberry short cake, I woulda skipped the breakfast and went straight to the fruit stand.“
